I like how you are trying to give the details of the original recipe but still giving alternatives and tips to make it easier so we can make it even though we don't have all of the ingredients. Thank you so much, I shall give it a try
I just love how this channel understands the struggle of some of us getting our hands on some the ingredients so they not only give us alternatives, but he uses them too!
Me: I have orange juice in the fridge..wonder if i can use it? Aaron: If you are thinking about using orange juice, stop right there Me: HAHAHAHAH he read my mind lmao
Man, if you've never heard of or don't own Gochujang and Korean pepper flakes, your life suuuuucks. Get both. Worth the money and you can use it for anything. Deeeeeeeelicious.
@@DayoOgunde Gochujang, for me, I have to adjust it, too, sometimes. Depends on the day and my tummy. Especially, if I'm cooking/prepping for others. Really, Gochujang is so incredibly complex, flavorful with heat level associated with measurable amounts. But, even a tsp highlights a dish. I see why you'd want to limit the use for sure.
I have two kinds of gochujang in my fridge one is much sweeter. It definitely has a unique taste compared to other hot sauces. I've come to love it. I use the hotter one the most.
I was stationed in Korea almost 20 years ago. Going out for Dakgalbi was an experience I'll always remember, and have made it at home many times since.
Aaron and Claire so much that I am just now leaving the closest the Korean grocery, which is an hour drive from me😂. I picked up some of that curry powder to see what kind of difference it makes in the flavor!
I love how you tell us what can be substituted and what can’t. I had a roommate once, who was trying to make Thai food and she substituted Italian basil for Thai basil. I’m like “No no no no. They’re two different flavors.”
THANK YOU FOR THIS RECIPE! I went to Korea and I tried dakgalbi and it was amazing. Even my parents who are not accustomed to Korean food and flavours loved this wonderful dish. I love your clear and simple instructions. Thank you for giving people who do not live in Korea good alternatives to certain ingredients. I am definitely going to try it.
I was living for 4 years in Malaysia and we were going to dakgalbi restaurant almost every week 🤣😂 we spent a lot of money there, we really addicted to dakgalbi, I tried few times to cook it ,I took the recipe from another famous RU-vid channel , but the taste turned out something wired 🤪 I can say this recipe is exactly same as restaurant!! Even better bcz there’s no MSG in it, I’m very happy to find this recipe . Literally he saved my money 😂😂 in my opinion dakgalbi is the most delicious food in the world😋🤤🤤
I absolutely love this channel! Claire always looks so excited and like she enjoys everything Aaron makes plus she's so cute! I think she has adorable chipmunk cheeks! I also just love that Aaron always has her preferences in mind when he makes food for her, like how she doesn't like the chicken skin and he cuts it off even though he likes it.
i've made this probably 10 times in the past year and all i can say is wow, perfection. my husband, who misses the food from korea quite a bit, said i could make this in a restaurant in seoul and no one would know i'm not korean. i think that says it all 😊 i like to add mushrooms because that's just who i am as a person, definitely recommend.
I just made this and it's delicious! Happened to have all the ingredients except green onion, so I used extra regular onion. Marinated the chicken overnight. Your recipes are so easy to follow!
is it even possible to have a crush on a whole couple ?? like they are both soooooo cute, I could listen to them talk and watch them eat all day. plus they love food and show us some mouth watering delicacies that I will definitely be checking out when I go to Korea.
"If you've ever been to Korea, you definitely have tried this and you're still missing it, right?" You have never been more right! I left a part of my soul in those dakgalbi restaurants. Thank you for the video, I'll have to try this!
Oh my gosh sammmmmeeee!!! I have been looking for the best recipe forever! I’m going straight to Hmart tomorrow to get all of these ingredients rather than spending $1000 to go to the cheese river spot in Gangnam 😅
Oh my goodness I just made dakgalbi today for dinner too! I grated apples inside mine but apple juice sounds much easier.. I will definitely have to try your recipe. Thanks for sharing!! ❤️
Hey Aaron and Claire, I cooked this today for dinner and let me tell you, it was amazing! It instantly became my favorite dish. Thanks so much for showing us this cool recipe. Definitely gonna make this for my spicy-lovers-friends and family!

I never knew radish can taste like that :D
I lived in Che’Chon, South Korea about 20 years ago. There was an amazing dak calbi restaurant around the corner. It has stuck with me all this time. Yummmm!
Wow you are so detailed!!! The K.mart here in Singapore at times dont hv those you mentioned..but you are so meticulous to hv thought we might not be able to get certain things in our country...Well-done ! and thanks !
I was just thinking you need to write a recipe book and then I spotted the link to your blog. I like that you give alternatives to the ingredients as I can't find dashida but do have pepper flakes and paste. :D
Thanks for another mouth watering video! Random suggestions -Banchan (various) -Eggs Benedict -Burgers! -Anything memorable from Australia or the restaurant in Australia -Cheese corn!
I just made this from your book…first Korean dish I have ever made. And holy crap, so freakin’ good!! Thank you for sharing! My wife and kids, who have never had Korean food, also loved it 😊
Aaron, Claire is so fortunate to have such an awesome chef ! Great recipes and I know Claire is happy to be your tester lol 👋😀 This recipe looks really delicious Aaron, I wish I had some perilla leaves They're so tasty 😋 Yummy recipe, thank you so much!
One of my top 3 favorite Korean dishes. Thank you do much for making these videos. I can't wait to cook for my Korean gf 😍 once she gets here in Canada 🙏😄. I am gonna get her to be the food sampler.
I love trying your recipes! I just made this and substitute a few things, but it was bomb! Thank you for sharing your great recipes for people like me, who love trying new recipes especially Korean foods! 😍🥰
Whenever Aaron mentions a Korean product, I dash across to Amazon and put it in my wishlist. Don't know when I will use it but I know it is there. Also because of him, I ALWAYS buy green onions every time I go to the grocery
dakgalbi with curry powder and lots of perilla -- one of my favorite meals!!! I just grow the perilla (I live in Texas where it's warm most of the year) so I always have it around.
I used calamansi juice (kinda like lime or lemon but smaller and sweeter) and OMG THIS RECIPE TASTES SO GOOD!!!! Marinating it for a longer period (>1 day) makes all the difference! Thanks for sharing this ♥️😊
There is (or at least was in 2015) a restaurant in Myeongdong that served dakgalbibokeumbap and I have been craving it for SO long! I think I will try making it with this recipe!
I've been missing Dakgalbi since I last had it in South Korea. ❤❤ They said that place is where Dakgalbi originated. I just can exactly remember where.
I have tried many of your recipes and they are all tasty. Your channel deserves way more subscribers. I will cook Dalkabi once I have finished my assignment as a reward. Can't wait to take a bite~~~
I'm half Korean and my mom used to give me those perilla leaves and I'd wrap rice and kimchi into them and they were soooooo delicious. They have such a unique and lovely flavor! I live in the states and I think you can get them at Korean markets. Droool... I'm craving them now!
This looks awesome, there are alot of ingredients I will need to buy but this is one of my favorite memorable dishes I tried when I have visited Korea in the past.
I just made this following your recipe and adding the curry powder. This is the most delicious Dakgalbi I’ve ever made at home. Thank you for sharing this video and recipe. Love your couple cuteness.
I always try your recipe and its really good. I am not a good chef but by seeing. Your video now i m good chef . I usually prepared for my korean bf and he loves my cooking 😋😋😋
Woo been waiting for a dakgalbi recipe for a while. Thanks for the video. And I like how you always give alternatives and shortcuts for the recipes as well! Makes me want to try it. Otherwise it's just too much work like u said.
