To everyone watching this who wants to make it at home, dont blend up your limes whole. The white stuff inside the rind is bitter and will make the whole drink bad. Instead, use the lime zest and the fruit pulp. This guy actually knows how to make it: ru-vid.com0-Fgx8ZgE-c?si=GFVbHoldre-Y5ZE-
@datboi1102:according to one person who made it the traditional way the Brazilian lemonade is suppose to taste bitter so you would need to cut it up and use the whole entire lime to make the drink correctly
@@IsaacMyers1 brazilians use different terms to refer to citrus, if i remember correctly. what we know as limes are known as lemons (limão) and our "lemons" are Sicilian lemons. almost like other languages are out there, right? 😅
@@maximus3294 can confirm that Brazilian lemons are green. I lived there for 2 years and assumed they were limes, tried making a recipe when I got back to the U.S. and used limes and it didn't taste right. Used yellow lemons that we have here in the states and it came out right. 🤷🏻♂️
@@IsaacMyers1ts not, in Brasil "limes" are called lemons, and you tradicional lemons are called Sicilian lemons. But to be fair if you speak english it would be limenade
Funny thing is Here in Brazil, we call It Swiss Lemonade And we call limes lemons. Lime are green lemons Lemons are yellow lemons And we have one native specie called rose lemons (and It looks like a tangerine but its sourer than a lime)
Was looking for this comment.. Thanks for sharing that before I literally grabbed ten lemons off my tree and tried this to see if it looks or tastes the same way. Prolly does not compute the same way limes do. You just saved me a whole lotta time
Actually, you CAN use lemons, but the method is slightly different: Zest, peel and quarter the lemons before blending them with water (you can even add a few mint leaves to the blender). Finish it exactly the same way as the lime version. The finished drink will be a little less acidic, less bitter, and more aromatic. Enjoy.
Growing up we made this lemonade all the time but we have always used regular sugar instead of condensed milk. The lemonade get bitter fast because of the Peel so it has to be made exactly when it’s going to be consumed.
@@Braindeadthegoat This isn't a linguistic issue. The fruits in the video are definitely limes and Sonny calls them limes (in case your eyesight is as weak as your brain!). 😂 It's limeade.
You have to drink it quickly! Even if it sits in the fridge for a few hours, the lime juice curdles the condensed milk, and the texture/flavor changes. No one talks about this, not sure why
I made this, and it's amazing, but make sure to drink it all in the same day! Doesn't store well. I had some bitter clumpy cottage cheese the next day.
@@Meatwad00 okay awesome, it does get bitter. I had somebody comment above on my comment saying that lime rind isn't bitter. I'm like what the heck are you talking about? It's absolutely bitter!
OH YEAH 🍈 Im SO gonna make this, Except I Have to use my Fave Key Limes ,& I don't do dairy SO I'm gonna use Sweetened (Cane sugar)Condensed 🥥 Coconut milk. Thank you so much for sharing this 😍💕
