In this video, we cover the easiest way to cut thin strips. Thin strips are used extensively in sign making, cutting boards, mosaics and lots of other woodworking projects. And in all honesty they can be a little tough cut in a safe manner. I'll show you the simple thin rip jig that I have and how it has changed the game for me when it comes to cutting thin strips.

I saw your video a few days ago. Loved the idea. Used your link to Amazon and bought one. Got it in the mail today. Haven't used it yet because I just unwrapped it. But as of right now I'm super impressed with the construction of it. I was skeptical that it would be lightweight and not hold up well but this thing has got some weight to it and the bearing spins smooth and the miter locks in my saws miter track very nicely and does not move at all once tightened down. Glad I saw this video. Thanks

How did you cut strips from the last inch width of the board or is that piece just considered waste. Being new to cutting thin strips I really want to know...

A micro jig push block would be the safest option

A less expensive alternative is to use a feather board as a thin rip gauge if you already have one on hand.

"Irrelevant".... Using the big words today, I see... Did that come from your Word of the Day app? Mine gave me one too : asinine

@@DebtFreeDIY irrelevant isn't a big word....so sensitive! I dare you to watch your video and carefully (keep your ego in check) keep track of how much you say that is actually genuinely relevant to the project at hand. I don't dispute your skills but there are many, many woodworking videos with not a word spoken that get their point across clearly, just as there are many many videos with narrators so enamored with the sound of their own voices that they don't really listen the words they're saying. Pointless, inane (oops! A big word!) chatter. You bore me. Good bye.

@DebtFreeDIY he's not wrong. And moving the fence over and over is not good.
