Used that recently, walked on it for about a month before laying the Karndean and it was still as smooth as a babies bottom. Good stuff.

I used it earlier in the year to do 3 rooms downstairs 48sqm. A dividing wall had been removed and the slab had to be cut out and refilled, as it was high. Used this to refinish and fill in a few low spots. Used a pin float set to the desired depth and a spiked roller to remove any air and merge pours. I thought it would take all day and be a disaster, but all done in a little over an hour with 3 of us on it.

@@SkillBuilder h i roger , where did you get the levelling squeegee type thing ? Usually i use a spike roller and a little help from the floor trowel , but that thing seems good and easy to spread with the right amounts of pressure, cheers Mike

My only advice to anyone using self leveling compound is that if you need to mix more than one bag ie. 10 bags in total buy yourself a bucket that can hold at least 3 bags worth of leveling compound and mix as many as you can in one go. I mix 4 bags at once when doing a large room and I have someone else mixing the next 4 bag load as I'm pouring. I see so many people mixing 1 bag at a time for a multiple bag job. it's painful to watch because I know how much unnecessary work that involves. Also you do not get the same finish trying to blend in different mixes over a longer period. Also as Roger said use SBR or a Latex primer never ever ever use PVA.

Richard you are bang on mate. If i do large area's (i'm a tile contactor) i mix up in a plastic dustbin. 5 bags at a time and while i'm rolling that out matey is knocking up the next mix. And i rightly or wrongly always add exactly 10% more water as i find the manufacturer's recommended mix ever so slightly under to make the mix pourable. And your also right re PVA. That stuff is useless as it's water soluble.

@@gdfggggg i was force fed "shads" in the Navy !! Never trust a sportsman that recommends trainers he doesn't wear !! The PT instructors wore Reebok!! Neither of them made self levelling so I stuck with green flash Dunny's and a bag of LX360 :)

I had a Dunlop Greenflash imprint on my arse in Primary school back in the day , all because i laughed at a teacher who caught me inside at lunch break. Nice man did give me a choice though, .....big wooden paddle or a dunlop Greenflash Trainer....after weighing up my options, i went for the softer option....Sadistic B'stard .. i was only 9 years old as well . Self-Levelling-Compound ... The Bain of my life!! ..... Needing to use it on old floors to tidy up kitchens for the fitters, or just sort footprints in screeds I'd done the day before - human AND dear little dogs/cats ..... Grrrrr!!! ...... All that stodgeyness at the bottom of the tub before you managed to get it down in a split second EH?? ....... Hope this stuff's better Roger ..... Thankfully those days are well gone for Me :-)

Can this be used on tongue and groove chipboard flooring? What's to stop this running under the skirting and down onto the plaster ceiling below. My floor needs to be flat but not perfectly level, i just need to fill a dip, if one side of the dip is slightly lower than the other will this run all the way down to the other side of the room or does it have enough viscosity for this not to happen and i can just spread with the tool. The room does not have a noticeable slope. Thanks

Hey Skillbuilder/Roger! I need to lay 5 bags in one room, what's the best way to get this done with a single set of hands? Pot life of 15/20m is too fast! I did two bags in my cellar, and first batch was already setting by the time i laid the second. Unlike tile adhesive, there isn't a 'slow' formula i can find.

Can you self level a block and beam concrete foundation floor? At the moment we have a floating floor on top with a membrane, polystyrene insulation and chipboard. But the floor is uneven so wondering if we can self level it?

Hi Roger just wondering if you know of a self levelling compound that also acts as a DPM, My bungalow has single slab concrete floors and a simple plastic sheet was used as a dpm. I have found in some areas the DPM has failed and damaged the finished floor I have lifted these and now need to level the floor but also provide a moisture barrier, enjoying your channel

If the surface is non absorbant then you don't need a primer

My mum has had shit after shit trades person do jobs for the extension and it's been an utter nightmare. I've had to rip up the flooring as it was level with the first brick and not above damp course and she was getting rising damp. I've spoken to some people and they've said I can create a raised floor. I'm having to do it myself as she's been ripped off and left with almost no budget. The guy who did the floor underneath hasn't made it level, there are dips and ditches in it. I could send you some pictures if you'd like but was hoping to get some advice. To level the floor would I use a brush to move the dust and then hoover it up as best as possible then use the Dunlop universal bonding agent wait for that to dry and then lay the LX-360 until the floor is level? Or should I just brush and lay the DPM and then pour the LX-360 over that? The idiots who did the floor and brickwork haven't tied DPM into the bricks so the floor underneath is wicking moisture, so I need to put DPM under the timber and then wrap it up over the timber. I'm aiming to have the timber just an inch above the damp course. Therefore I'm hoping that the DPM will protect the timber from any moisture below the three bricks.

Fill any gaps with expanding foam, cut the foam flush with the floor. Sweep the shit out of it. Prime it and get a latex you can use on wood.

We have some wavy flooring in an old Victorian house Just used some 9MM plywood butted together and screwed in to try and sort it Don't have the funds for a full refurb of the floor Some parts were still not 100% level Can we use this directly over plywood to fill the low spots?

@@JosiahCarron Mate I screwed the ply in with short screws into the old floorboards I'm thinking to take some of the bounce out I should have screwed directly into the joist? This house is driving me mad All the floors have waves in them and some of the joist are twisted slightly But it causes a problem with the laminate flooring we are putting in I'm thinking to chop out all the boards and lay some 25mm ply straight over and strengthen the joist in between What's the best budget way to solve this man?!

How easy is it to get it level and flat? I've heard that self levelling compounds don't self level and the Dunlop looked fairly viscous.

Made that mistake first time I used it. Self-levelling? No. Self levelling after it's trowelled reasonably flat, possibly. Oh, and if the substrate doesn't suck the life out of it - then level it with a hammer. Black art that one.....

You can't use a spiked roller on the fibre reinforced because it ends up like a rug.
