The East Berlin telephone exchange that led to the enormous Stasi HQ in East Berlin. 

The former Stasi HQ occupies a very large section of former East Berlin. The location may have been due to this former telephone exchange - now a block of residential apartments. The telephone exchange was an important centre of espionage as conversations could be listened to in the days following the division of Berlin into four zones, where one of the occupants was hostile to the other three - and to the Germans they occupied.
My history channel is based on my own research and generally comes from places I have visited and or original research.
