Back in the late 70s I can remember this actual rendition being played by the international service of Radio Peking. Between each transmission it would be repeated many times as a kind of tuning signal. Sometimes it would be interrupted with the words ‘This is Radio Peking’ in the language of the transmission coming next. Very nostalgic to hear it for the first time in over 45 years. Thanks CGTN!

My dad said it looks like listening it from Radio Peking at 1970s. My parents was soldiers of the People's Liberation Army of Thailand under the Communist Party of Thailand at that time so they listened to Radio Peking every night.

Like it or not, you can’t be not moved by the fact that China in 1949 was a feudal nation in the 20th century, and now it’s close to be the world’s biggest superpower. China made the biggest social and economical transformation in human history. Imagine the feels of the people that listened this signal for the first time when the first Chinese satellite was launched. Listening to this so many years after that in a totally different country.
