This song really makes me happy. Having lived in East Ridge and then working for the city there, I get nostalgic listening to this even though some of the references are before my time (i.e. the bowling alley).
Agreed. It was where I had my first apartment when I moved from rural Georgia to East Ridge because I had a job in Chattanooga. It was cheap as hell to rent there. I lived there for a few years and eventually ended up moving to Houston. But part of me still misses being right near Lake Winnie and the awful McDonalds
Pretty funny since that's my hometown. Why no mention of the 4000 red lights from the tunnel to Camp Jordan? It was much different in the '70's. Glad I got out.
Who's down to make a part two to this with me? So much has changed! Well not a lot, but I have rage about l living back here temporarily, and the public needs to be updated of all the new fireworks stores.
lol this song is so funny i use to live there probally when this song is made now i live in ringgold which is probally even shitter they should make a song about it
I'm a brit that's just moved to East Ridge (just of Ringgold Road)... I love it!! It's certainly better than the shitty little town I used to live in (in England)... that place just smells of jizz!! lol
Is Chickamauga, GA, a better place to live? I live there and it seems quiet, rural and doesn't have as many attractions as East Ridge. However, it's kind of growing.
Missing my hometown I've lived there for 15 years of my life until now, I am about to turn 16 in 5 months and missing my hometown wish I could see it one more time. 😞
They didn't mention,, but neither is Magoo's or Tripps seafood, loved that place, awesome seafood buffet, my best memories in East Ridge was in the 70s when my bff and I were at rolling ridge skating rink every weekend, sweet memories🫶✌️
And was bought by Buck's Pit BBQ to become "Buck's BBQ & Catfish". I remember seeing the advertisement for Uncle Bud's new location opening in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. It showed one of the fish from the menus of Uncle Bud's, wearing a cap while driving a moving truck.
I'm surprised they didn't touch on the dubious political history of East Ridge. Also, am I the only one who noticed the first police car they showed was actually a Chattanooga PD car, not an East Ridge PD car?
Funny, when I moved to ER 27 years ago it was a mirror image of Mayberry. Now it's exactly like the song says, just cops and check-cashing places. This is a sad little burg and would be better off of it were bulldozed to the ground.
