Flashlights are important. One night I was walking my dog and he's aggressive towards other dogs. I saw a something running towards us in the dark so I pointed my light at it and it was a big dog. I put my flashlight in strobe mode and it stunned the dog long enough for me to get my dog in the house. Turns out that big dog was friendly as hell and just got away from it's owner. I kept him in the garage with some food and water until I was able to find his owner. I'm glad I didn't hurt him as a knee jerk reaction. My dog is an asshole, but he's my asshole. I walk with a flashlight all of the time now.
i like: olight m1t w/ rechargable 16340 streamlight stylus pro streamlight microstream foursevens preon p2 if you can find one at a good price but i carry a surefire tactician w/ keeppower 16650 rechargeable. streamlight protac 2lx is VERY good my old favorite edc was the eagletac d25a ti i also got this brass pineapple from massdrop that i really like single aa lights are also very good. if you get one that can run a 14500 like the thrunite archer 1a v3 you will be very happy and if need be, you can still get good light out of aa's
@@BlackLabelElite especially when you think about flashlights from 10 years ago vs the ones now! this guy vinh nguyen goes by skylumen sells some hot rodded lumen monsters. olight makes the x7 which pumps out 12,000 lumens...lol but the modded one will do 21,000 lumens. there's also the olight x6 which puts out 25,000 lumens, as well as the acebeam x80gt which vinh bumped up to 31,000 lumens. these things are massive but they sure are cool
for keychain lights look at the olight i3e and nitecore tube. usb rechargeable or aaa twist head. i ran the surefire titan plus on my keychain for 2 years but its just too big, too heavy, too many modes. for a keychain light i just want on/off, cheap, reliable. my keychain light isnt meant to supplement my edc light or using a phone light. it should just be the one on me that i need quick access to. not everyone is like me. i hate using a phone as light and thats my LAST resort.
I understand that I wanted to provide an option for those who didn't want to carry a full size light like the XT2CR that I carry but still wanted some serious light...
@@BlackLabelElite yup very good options. people still ask me why i carry a flashlight and sometimes why i have more than one. IT GETS DARK EVERYDAY....and not only do i go in and under dark places sometimes, i have to be able to see as well. then they might borrow mine, and ill need it before they give it back. backup light!
