Eddie Kramer Collection: www.waves.com/bundles/eddie-kr... Legendary producer/engineer Eddie Kramer on the making of the Eddie Kramer artist signature Collection, created in collaboration with Waves Audio. Part 1/2.
One of the things I've learned over the years is how very much Eddie added to Jimi's sound and how hard it was to accomplish this with the limitations of his day, and I think he did a brilliant job. Thank you EK for the love and respect you showed to Jimi's music; nothing but respect to you man.
@ZephyrRock hey mate...check out Mixing With Your Mind by-Michael Stavrou. Foreword by Sir George Martin . . . a remarkable insight into the most important piece of equipment in the recording studio - the human brain.
I understand what your saying but just because someone writes a song doesn't mean they are the producer...in todays world it seems like everyone who composes something tries to claim production credits....anyway i understand what you're talking about Jimi dramatically influenced his own sound
Eddie Kramer is an engineer, not a producer. At least not the producer of his most notable work. Chaz Chandler produced Hendrix until he produced himself, Jimmy Page produced Zeppelin and so on... But all those guys really admired Eddie, as do I.
is it just me or these sound examples just don't sound "vintage"? I admire Eddie and love his work but the sound examples here just don't do it for me. It just sounds modern trying to emulate vintage. You would never think that this is actual sound of that legendary 60's era do you?
Yes, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most bands that go into the studio will not necessarily want to push a button and have all of these past sounds (even if they enjoyed them from the original artists). They will want to create "their own"sound.
