"High dose vitamin C treatment of new coronavirus [COVID-19] pneumonia. "On the afternoon of February 20, 2020, another 4 patients with severe new coronaviral pneumonia recovered from the C10 West Ward of Tongji Hospital In the past 8 patients have been discharged from hospital. . . [H]igh-dose vitamin C achieved good results in clinical applications. We believe that for patients with severe neonatal pneumonia and critically ill patients, vitamin C treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after admission. . .[E]arly application of large doses of vitamin C can have a strong antioxidant effect, reduce inflammatory responses, and improve endothelial function. . . Numerous studies have shown that the dose of vitamin C has a lot to do with the effect of treatment. . . [H]gh-dose vitamin C can not only improve antiviral levels, but more importantly, can prevent and treat acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress (ARDS)." China is conducting three clinical trials of up to 24,000 mg/day of intravenous vitamin C to treat patients with COVID-19 coronavirus and its severe respiratory complications. A coronavirus pandemic can be stopped with the immediate widespread use of high doses of vitamin C. There has been a lack of media coverage of this effective and successful approach against viruses in general, and coronavirus in particular. Preventing and treating severe respiratory infections with large amounts of vitamin C is well established. (Also, here is the Chinese language edition). The nutritional treatment of coronavirus is presented, with dosage specifics , in this protocol endorsed by physicians on the editorial board of the Orthomolecular Medicine News Service. NEW: The In this video, Dr. Richard Cheng, reporting direct from China, , calls for immediate use of vitamin C for treatment AND PREVENTION of coronavirus (COVID-19).

A few months ago I was hospitalized with unusual symptoms. My wife brought some liposomal vitamin C. We had no idea that it might help although it was a God send. I still take vitamin C daily.

The two problems with the CITRIS-ALI study were the significant delay in starting the IV Vitamin C and the fact that the SOFA scores of the dead in the placebo group were ommitted. So, if they had been included, he admits in another video, it would have likely been significant.
@johnwilkinsoniv1746
@johnwilkinsoniv1746 4 года назад
Yes, called selection bias. What was crazy about the abstract was it omitted report of the changes in mortality. Most significant outcome, much more important than the organ failure scores. The scores are an important means of gauging prognosis, but they seem to not be as accurate if vitamin C treatment is in the mix. This is probably an effect that may be highly dependent on aspects that have yet to be identified - other trials looking at patients with organ failure have either also shown a benefit or have not shown benefit (in terms of mortality and hospital time). Given there are few downsides, it seems like a potentially useful adjuvant treatment.

It surprised me that this trial failed to show improvement in SOFA and biomarkers. I know that analysis has pointed out that they waited until serious ARDS had developed before administering 200mg/kg/day; but i was expecting at least some effect. Hopefully we see some additional work done, the only thing really saving it was that secondary measures like hospital stay were very positive.

Kidding? 200mg/kg/day? It is not megadose.
@lieshtmeiser5542
@lieshtmeiser5542 4 года назад
@@assexpert Well you are correct in the sense that its the slang use of the word, not the measurement unit: "(in units of measurement) denoting a factor of one million (106)". 1 mill mg of vit c is 1000g. It depends also on what time intervals are used. Is it per day, or is it per week, or is it per dose? 200mg/kg/day is a good start, but many diseases probably need more like 500mg or 1000mg/kg/day to achieve fast clinical effect. The only objection to this that I saw raised in a discussion was to do with osmolarity, and the osmolarity calculations for Vit C infusion that I saw on Riordan Clinic's website suggest that the rate of infusion can be quite fast, approximately 20min for a 15,000mg infusion. It must depend a bit on the acidity/concentration of the particular vitamin c theyre using, Im fairly sure they said they were using buffered sodium ascorbate, as opposed to pure ascorbic acid in the Fowler trials.

@josefschiltz2192

Not everybody can be at ease when talking. Nerves don't work the same with everyone, simply because the amygdala will act slightly differently, depending on the individual. Of course, that's the reason some cope under duress more efficiently than others. Some find it relatively easy to correlate thoughts and churn out information.

Many centres are using marik protocol and the results are mixed, which is to be expected with only 6g per day of infusion. This is because dosage is primarily disease and patient dependent, with bodyweight being a critical consideration. This is why dr levy would use wildly different dosages, one case he claims to have treated a bed ridden young female swine flu patient with a starting dose of 50g and then up to 80g per day...(i think, ill edit later if wrong). I think thats a good example of how far apart integrative medicine and mainstream medicine are on this treatment option.
