Yep, and while I don't much like the Thalmor, I understand why they're pissed. Dozens may have lived to see Septum destroy a swath of their land, see his rule go on, his dynasty continue, his bad deeds unpunished, and even venerated as a God, all within their lifetime. For the VAST majority of Tamrielic history, the Altmer rarely left Summerset, most notably was the Three Banners War, but then again, ALL the Provinces were involved with that, so it's not fair to only point fingers at Summerset. After that, not a thing, they made Allies with other Dominion Provinces and traded with them and offered whatever services, mostly to act as buffer zones from the rest of Tamriel. So it's funny that when Tiber Septum dragged them into his Empire, many think they're somehow expected to not be upset about it? Totally understandable why they'd be mad. Long live the Dominion, and praise be to Altmer Queen Ayrenn, long may her reign be remembered

I like that the Thalmor were a small group of extremists before the Oblivion Crisis. In my headcanon, the Veiled Heritance were assimilated into the Thalmor after the VH was disbanded. Over time, they started to take over the group entirely, which is why most High Elves stopped giving them support and they declined. It's similar to how the American Civil War saw the Democratic and Republican political parties switch roles and beliefs - the rememnants of the Veiled Heritance reformed the Thalmor into what we know it as today

Ysgramor came with his 500 Companions bringing death to the Falmer only after the elves wiped out Saarthal to the last child for reasons that are still not really understood to this day. Before then, men tried to coexist with elves. Ysgramor's war was in response to this genocide.

And if we're going to judge whether something is true or not in lore by whether or not there's someone alive to talk about it, then I guess you could also say that no lore further in the past than the birth of Divayth Fyr is not true by your standard, which I hope you realize is completely ridiculous. Sources are only not true when the sources aren't in agreement. The sources all agree that the elves slaughtered everyone in Saarthal. The only area where the sources conflict are on the reasons why the elves attacked. If you wanted to make a pro-elven argument here, the best you can say is that they wanted to safeguard the Eye of Magnus, but nobody can agree that the Nords even knew about the Eye at the time, and it still doesn't justify the Night of Tears.

I know, I love the Altmer! I play as one, though he fled the Summersets due to the third Aldmeri Dominion, and is currently plotting their downfall. He will then set up the fourth and unite the races to protect all of Tamriel and all of the races! Also, the fourth Aldmeri Dominion will not only accept Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit. They will accept any race and will protect them forevermore!

@@andrewrauch5807 My character fought for the First Aldmeri Dominion in Cyrodiil in 2E 582 (The Dominion is pretty much brand new at that point, so during Ayrenn’s rule. The year ESO is set) She would have died long before the Third Dominion when the Thalmor overthrew the monarchy. However, if that paramilitary overthrew the monarchy earlier she may have changed with the times and joined the Thalmor.

Empire technically dragged them into the fold too, with all the war and whatnot the Tribunal dealt with until finally speaking to Tiber Septum to end the bloodshed. Nerevarine in Morrowind, Dovahkiin in Skyrim, and the Redguards in Hammerfell... Empire is losing its grip more and more, ain't it? Skyrim is still up for debate, but at this point, Thalmor will end up getting more and more land to either seceded or war against the Empire until they themselves are ready.

I’m usually a Nord, but it ESO I’m a High Elf, I like the First Aldmeri Dominion (The one you can join in ESO) because they fight against the Veiled Heritance who have similar beliefs to the Third Aldmeri Dominion. Don’t get me wrong I don’t dislike the Third Aldmeri Dominion (Skyrim Era) they are still pretty cool but what they enforce is wrong which is why in Skyrim I’m usually a Stormcloak.

I’ve heard from some people that elenwen (thalmor ambassador in Skyrim) was apart of the second Aldmari Dominion before Tiber Septim came into power and conquered it. But I don’t know if that is true though

Elves can live for thousands of years, take that dwemer from Morrowind or the snow elf from Skyrim's dawnguard DLC, those 2 likely were living since the 1st era.
