Once ICE's are outlawed, mostly first in countries in Europe, this is what will happen. And not just 911's.

@@dutchdna And then when that happens so much for bio fuels and stuff. I don't know about Europe but in America I can see alot of backlash if that ever happened. If I ever wanted a electric car I wouldn't buy one even if I had the money, I'd want the battery to last thousands of miles, and charge in a 3 minutes.

@@3n3ly7m9 Even with bio fuels, it still polluting and can't in any way match EV's zero emission, for example to keep pollution out of the cities, as I know that electricity for EV's needs to be generated too....and pollutes. Europe is legislating all of this, so people really have no choice by that time, although it will be phased out over the years so it's not that you can't see it coming. It won't be long before a battery can go a 1000 miles and can be charged in a matter of minutes. You'll see that within the next 5 years. Batteries already lasts the lifetime of a car. Start saving. ;)

@@dutchdna Battery's actually last the lifetime and live up the the terms and spec performance for the first owner. After it has been passed around, wear on the car is greatly anything from the former. Thats the same kind of marketing as BMWs transmission saying that have life time oil, and are sealed. And anyone with proper knowledge of how mechanics or physics work knows that's a lie. I rather not save up for a car that can't be repaired by myself and have technology and infotainments centers in them cost thousands. I think its a real waste of money especially if you buy the car in full. Most people can't and always lease it. I'll let the rest of the new buyers take the hit and have them suffer the deprecation. And if it is mandated to only drive EV's thats basically dictatorship. I can for sure say drivability on a EV is totally different from any diesel or burning engine, and has many drawbacks.

@@3n3ly7m9 Nothing lasts forever and it doesn't have to. Neither do regular cars and nor does the AC on your house for example. Certain refrigerants are outlawed too, just like gas will be at some point, at least for use in a private car. I'm not saying that's what I want, I'm just saying it's what I see happening. I have 4 V8's in my driveway, love them all. And yes, maybe the battery will give out after a couple of hundred thousand miles but look at how much you saved in other repairs and maintenance, EV's are virtually maintenance free, except for tires and brakes...and battery eventually. And by that time, most those cars will be recycled as well as their batteries, plus they'll become much cheaper, year after year. Most modern cars you cannot repair yourself anymore. Too much tech and you'd need tens of thousands in tools (and great knowledge). Please don't get me started on my BMW. You're right. Lol. Internal Combustion Engines are just not sustainable in the future, it's a given fact, look at high density populated cities and their smog/pollution, especially in Asia. People just don't want that anymore. That's why China is leading in EV's and the USA can choose to stay behind, which it already is, but it will miss out on market opportunities, although Tesla is doing a good job with EV's in China but that's just one American company. But regular engines will be phased out everywhere, except Africa maybe, whether you and I like it or not. I don't like it either but it's a given fact. I think it will take another 20 years in the USA, 10-15 in Europe, so you can see it coming. Most of the EV drawbacks will go away as they are addressing them one by one and they have other benefits that make up for some drawbacks. It will be a long time before it's 100% mandated but if manufacturers can't sell ICE's anymore, or nobody will buy them because people prefer EV's, they just won't produce them and that's already started to happen. I mean it's $50 to fill up my Ford truck. The new Ford Lightning you can fill up for about $10. About the same range. Bottom line, combustion engine cars will stop making sense from different point of view and people will want to buy electric. The new Ford Lightning will outsell regular engine trucks very soon. The demand will dictate what producers will make and that'd good old capitalism. Nothing wrong with it. You can argue there's some overreach in Europe, I agree. Just imagine that we don't use the "oil" lamp anymore either after we got the "electric" light bulb. It's just how it goes...

Most of these would not sit in a garage, but in a junkyard. The prime market for these modifications is cars which are beyond repair, and it’s drivetrain has to be thrown out, likely along with the whole car.

@@juzoli I think I get you, replacing the carbon panels would be a lot harder than replacing the standard metal panels. Also electric drivetrains have been improving at a crazy pace for years, the drivetrain in it will be have to be updated in like 10 years

If they ban petro cars... Just shoot me. Maybe I'll postpone my demise after experiencing a retro carbon EV 911. Looks slightly intriguing & it's beautiful to look at.

I am hoping that the synthetic petrol going to happen,I saw a vid where an old Rolls Royce phantom was electrified and I thought that it suited that car perfectly as quietness is a virtue in that segment

@@johnnyboy1586 how can anyone make enough synthetic fuel at a low price for all combustion engines in the world. Enough to use all of them each day. Maybe hydrogen powered combustion engines are an idea

I just can’t help but agree with you. EV can be fast as they want but for driving on the public roads ICE will just be more interesting.

To be fair, it’a just a question before the experience of a ICE car will be replicated/simulated with speakers and vibrations, to the point where we won’t be able to tell the difference witout popping the hood

Both are fundamental. We don't have to decide anything. Classic cars aren't destroying the planet. Priuses that climate activists commute thousands of miles in to their endless virtue signaling protests are.

It's the whole thing. The entire appeal about driving older cars is all the flaws; the vibrations, the suboptimal weight distributions, the touchy gearboxes. All the finessing these cars require you to do to drive them well is precisely what gives them character and makes them fun to drive. If they were simply pretty, and that's all we cared about, a Maisto 1:18 model would do. When you shove the old body onto a modern powertrain, even an ICE one, you completely destroy the essence of the vehicle.

New vehicle ICE cars will be banned long before it’s illegal to drive them. I’m worried for jobs lost but I’m more worried about climate change.

The fun in a classic car is the way it drives, the way it looks and feels when you’re behind the wheel. Its a different experience to a modern car. It’s not all down to the noise of the engine, even though that’s part of the appeal.

@@wilkowilkins363 I’ve had 6 mk2 Gti. Some as daily cars some as projects. I think you’re forgetting my comment is subjective. Electric motors are quick, old cars are have reliability issues (belts, cables stretching over time etc) I’d like to daily a car from the 80s with 80% less maintenance.. they aren’t loud obnoxious cars anyway In standard form so no one would even notice, hence my reason for picking the humble golf
