I love how the patterns on the wall imply that this museum is itself the Curator’s Tardis.

8 years later, the "revisit old faces" line means a lot more with david tenant returning for a few episodes as the doctor.

"I could retire and be the curator of this place" "You know I really think you might" We've now seen a doctor who revisited an old face retire.

"And in years to come, you might find yourself revisiting a few [face] but just… the old favorites" After all these years… You were right, Tom. You were right

God. Even as an outsider to the series, it's easy for me to see why Baker held the role for as long as he did. That man is one hell of an actor.

Tom Baker's introduction in this scene is absolutely brilliantly executed. The whole tone shifts as soon as we hear his voice. It's as if a living legend has walked into the scene.

"Trenzalore... We need a new destination because... I don't want to go." NO YOU CANNOT USE THAT LINE THAT CASUALLY

The Doctor's congratulating themselves is the most Doctor Who thing ever.

This scene aged extremely well.

With David Tennant’s return as the 14th Doctor, the line “you’ll find yourself revisiting a few but just the old favourites” has come into fruition.

Damn near half a century later and the man still pisses charisma and presence. Long Live Tom Baker

When he says “congratulations” and they shake hands you KNOW that was Tom to Matt not Doctor to Doctor. Matt looked positively giddy during that brief moment.

What a fantastic performance by Tom. Only he could walk back into the role after 33 years away and just nail every line and look and mannerism.

It's amazing that Tom Baker never lost his voice. It's so clear and strong, even today.

The way Tom just appears on screen with the presence and power as the Curator, but we all know him as the fourth Doctor. I never forget a face... absolutely marvellous film making.

The way Matt has always managed to portray not just an older character, but be truly believable as someone who's lived hundreds of years. Him and Tom Baker in a scene together, perfect.

10th Doctor: "Good to know my future is in safe hands." A nice call back to when the 1st Doctor said that to the 5th Doctor in "The Five Doctors."

That may possibly be the best scene in the entire sixty year run. I love the wink at 2:16. Doctors have met doctors before, it's not clear to me why this doctor would be quite so astonished, and delighted, to meet a future incarnation of himself. Perhaps just because he has such good memories of being that particular doctor. Whatever, the obvious, instant bonding between them just gets me every time.

"And in years to come, you might find yourself revisiting a few but just....the old favourites, eh?" .....You bloody beauties....

There's a strange urgency in Tom Bakers eyes, at least there is to me. It makes me feel as if that's the doctor on his well and true final life, near the very end and he simply wanted to see the joy of one of his youthful selves just one last time.

I was in a cinema watching this live and as soon as we heard that voice, my dad who had grown up in Tom bakers era grabbed my hand and started crying

Only Tom Baker could steal the show celebrating 50 years since it’s inception. Honestly, the man is indomitable. Absolutely and wholeheartedly indomitable.

"The Curator" Curator: derived from the Latin word "curare", meaning "to take care of" or "to cure". Now, what is it exactly that a Doctor does?

"Oh you have a lot to do" Being caught in a siege for 900 years, stopping the Master a couple more times and spending a few billion years trapped in a confession dial.

SPOILER ALERT: With the Thirteenth Doctor’s regeneration in The Power of the Doctor today, finally - FINALLY - the Curator’s prediction of revisiting a few of the old favourite faces has come true.

I love how Tom Baker said "You'll be visiting a few old favourites," and we have probably the Nations favourite doctor back. This line is more powerful now that I think about it

I love how strong his voice is, even now.

"Perhaps I was you of course... oh... perhaps you are me" Laughs... "Congratulations" "Thanks" Those lines were NOT scripted. It was so natural... It's like Tom recognizing Matt as his successor.... I get chills EVERY time I watch this movie AND this part (along with several others)

In a minute, Tom Baker once again owned Dr Who. You may be able to share a screen with him, but he owned every second of this moment, this scene, this episode and this decade of Dr Who. Now matter how lost the show may seem to many longtime fans, this scene reminds us to heights to which it can still soar

I guess he sure will be revisiting the old favorites.

Im realizing, the 11th Doctor never remembered his conversation with The Curator, just like War and 10 dont remember meeting 11, because of the time streams

"You know I really think you might", combined with Smith's reaction - the single best Doctor Who moment there is.

We know it is acting, we know it is scripted... but Matt's face when he hear's Tom Baker's voice... true perfection. That is sincerity that a dream has been realised! Simplistic yet intricate... Tom's acting in this scene is quite possibly... in the Top 1 of all scenes!

The foreshadowing in this paid off tonight

You know it’s sad. When I first watched this in the cinema with my dad, who was a huge doctor who fan (Tom baker being his favourite) I never knew what a big deal this was, my dad died Christmas that year, and now being such a massive doctor who fan now, I would’ve loved to talk to him about it and understand what a big deal it was for him.

Still nice to see that Tom still has the crazy eyes

What I really learned from this is that Tom Baker can out act any current version of himself. Tom lights every room he enters with his bravado,

Hugely emotional is Tom. At primary school in Belfast, he walked in all geared up "Hellooo children!" With those big eyes and teeth, he came around each tiny chair and shook all our hands. The real deal, this guy. The one and only Dr Who. Giant. Cosmic! Thanx Tom Baker! x

That moment when you realize that no one will ever eclipse Tom Baker

Finally! One of the modern Doctors meets the LEGEND. No one else to this day has held the role as long as he has. No one else has defined it as long as he has. His voice still sends chills down fans' (of the old show) spines 38 years since he handed the Tardis keys to Peter Davison. Tom Baker is truly a legend among the Doctor's incarnations. He looks very good for 84 years old.

"Where is it indeed? Lost! Shh!" That is so Fourth Doctor behavior. I know that Colin Baker gripes about not having a role in the special, but if you think about it Tom Baker is the earliest surviving actor to play the Doctor since the first three actors have sadly passed away. It seems appropriate that he would have an appearance.

So, to everyone who's seen the 60th now... ...who likes to think that The Curator is a further down the line regeneration of 14 after he split and went on his own way?

He looks cold. He should put on a scarf. ;)

I remember when this scene popped up and I yelled "It's Baker!" and my wife came running into the living room. I just remember having chills and goosebumps when I saw him and getting a lump in my throat. What an awesome scene.

Still sends a shiver down the spine when his voice comes in. Perfect piece of tele.

Tom Baker's voice is so commanding, his delivery is so cryptic and charismatic that it makes your head spin.

In 7 words. The entire mood shifts. Tom Baker commands the atmosphere with a grace and excellence unrivaled. His mere voice pierces generations of talent like a dagger "You know I really think you might…”

And now he’s revisiting another old favorite face

The one thing that I really appreciate is that RTD actually followed through with the line about The Doctor revisiting old faces.

When I was in the theatre, sitting there with my mum who has watched Doctor Who since the very first episode aired, having both been screaming/crying with the rest of the theatre over all the other little references, callbacks etc, the second she heard Baker she immediately started saying 'No, no no no no way'. When they showed his face, I didn't recognise him at first, but mum - she asked me if I wanted a jelly baby, and I think we both started crying haha This show is absolutely like no other, the fact it has generations of fans is a testament to that. Mum often says that as a child she never thought she'd still be watching her favourite show with her daughter.

This will forever remain one of my favorite pieces of Whovian Lore. No matter what crazy stuff happens, I will always take comfort in the implication (fact?) that the Doctor will not only regenerate into some of their previous faces, but also that they will inevitably come back to this museum to work as it's curator.

I first watched this in a theater during the 50th Anniversary Celebration. When I first heard Tom Baker's voice my heart literally skipped a beat and it brought tears to my eyes. The whole theater gasped! I felt like I had been transported back in time to when I was 12 years old watching my first Doctor Who adventure, _The Hand of Fear._ Mr. Baker is and will always be my Doctor.

I would watch doctor who with my grandfather. He’d been watching since the first doctor. He said Tom baker was always his favorite. As soon as he heard Tom bakers voice he was ecstatic. Miss the hell out of that old man

2:05 the curator/ future doctor said "in the future you will be revisiting old ones, just the old favorites." Today I found out David Tennent is coming back as the doctor again and I can't tell if this was intentional foreshadowing if they knew the future they wanted like the route they wanted to head in and its all unraveling finally!!

Year 2054. DW has been on hiatud several decades. BBC introduces a new science fiction show, called "Curator Who" November 23, 2063 airs an episode The Day of the Curator.

Did anyone else's heart break when 10 said "I don't want to go"?

He totally hints to the fact that David Tennant is coming back.

My name is literally Sarah Jane, I grew up with the biggest Doctor Who fangirl of a mom, and Tom Baker was her favorite. She passed away a year before this, so I ugly sobbed/gleefully laughed for this entire thing. I couldn't imagine anything more perfect than this.

its been years yet we finally understand what Tom Baker meant when he said "And in years to come you will find yourself revisiting a few but just the old favourites" and I'm glad they said this cause we got David back and even if its for a few specials we at least know he's one of the "old favourites" to The Doctor

Revist the old favorites, man have I been waiting for this to come true. And of course, we start with the one who got the most regenerations!

Quick fun-fact that I'm not sure has been mentioned; I was just watching the unaired/unfinished episodes of the 6 part series called Shada. There is gap-filling narration by Tom Baker as the 4th Doctor. The introduction takes place in a museum and The Doctor says: "I've always felt at home in museums."
