In Part II of our post up series of tutorials, we go into how you want to create different types of advanced combos, so you never run out of moves in the post!
You got it!! I should have recorded my Jokic vs Grizzlies video. I went 6/6 in one quarter, and they couldn't stop me! I just didn't think people were that interested in it! But I'll do something like this for sure!
Brilliant tutorial, I’ve just made an 7”0 stretch five with 92 3s / 89 mid and 87 post control. That dummy fade and step back shot is so good especially with gold agent 3s. Open three pretty much every time. Will try to work some of the other moves into my game 😅
Let's go Stephane!! Yeah, I wanted to show that you can be elite with shot creation in the paint too, since we mostly see some basic moves every now and then from the community! Thank you for the Support always Stephane! We will keep working!!
@@KevinCruz016 thanx for the tutorials. I gotta support the channel cuz you're actually out here creating and not cheesing. I gotta get my hands on a copy of the game. But when I do, I'm going straight to the lab. How u doing bro?
Gonna really have to practice this one I’m good enough would the fades and shimmy’s but incorporations them with the alternative moves is game changing
I've been on 2k since Dreamcast and I can say that you teach me things in every single video. I subbed on your Kobe Bryant pivot, post up vid. I know I'm late but I appreciate your work ethic.
Good stuff Kevin. Enjoyed this. I’m trying to add some of these combos, as I have the post spin, dropstep, shimmy fade all down. Just need to work on up and unders etc
@@KevinCruz016 have to man, but this is perhaps the most comprehensive post moves video I saw. I subscribed just off of this lol. Keep grinding and you have a big supporter on my end
Playing offline, I will say that I prefer it, it's not as punishing as in past years, and it helps me finish through some difficult situations. Online might be different though, but I have not gone online yet, so I'll let you know when I do!! Appreciate you Patrick!
We're working our way there bro! I just want to knock all these tutorials out of the way, then we're going to the online streets for sure!! Appreciate you bro!
Sup Kevin. Would you be ok with making a basic dribbling tutorial? Like standing crossover, moving crossover etc, and combo examples of using them with and without the hesi explosive type moves? Kind of like a basic/foundation dribbling tutorial?
Hahahaha, definitely going to keep working on the bag, and you know I got love for you all so when I develop new stuff, you guys will get it first! Appreciate you!
Great job! I've been using Right Stick up then quickly down right or left for the shimmy fade but it has not been very consistent. Now I know I can just go Right Stick left then quickly right or vice versa to get a more consistent animation. Looking forward to that face-up video man! That pump fake into an escape dribble jumper is going to be so deadly. Also, I noticed you use a different shooting bar, would you say it's helped you master times better than the default one? Do you play on jump shot timing on the default of late or have you moved it too early?
Thank you Joshua, I'm glad this was helpful!! Yes, that KD video is going to be a good one!! I'm still playing around with different release timings and shot meters to see where I settle at. So far, I went back to the default bar and have my release at early. But I'm still trying to nail down these settings. What's worked for you?
@@KevinCruz016 I’ve been trying to stay at the default bar and late timing but mannnnn it’s got my timing all over the place. I may switch it to early though and test that. I know sometimes it’ll go realllyyyyy slow then the next shot it’ll go semi quick and someone like Carmelo Anthony has a quicker release already on late so that’s stopped me from switching it.
Kevin, I'm seeing all these new moves and combos and am blown away. Is NBA 2k23 the most advanced/ versatile version in terms of types of moves that can be done? It seems endless.
I think so Jay! They give you more options this year, though the post game has stayed mostly the same, the changes they made to responsiveness and fluidity made the post game really stand out. A lot of bridging these things together comes down to your creativity and practice! But yes, this has been the most complete 2K I've played from a gameplay perspective!
Hi Kevin! I just found your channel and Im really loving your vids so far! Just a quick question, im both play in xbox sx and ps5, but whenever i play in PARK, there is always a 2/3 secs delay on shooting/dribbling, I know my internet is not a problem but your thoughts kn that? Do u experience that as well?
Hi Ronyosan! Appreciate you finding the channel, and I'm hoping you love the content!! I do get some delay when I go online, but 2 to 3 seconds is a big issue for me. Where are you located? Also, are you on wired or wireless? I'd recommend going wired for online.
Thank you avcisla!! I'm just on standard 2k cam! I tried broadcast before, but the changes in left stick inputs really makes me less efficient on the sticks!
@@KevinCruz016 I was impressed. If it isn't a rim run I can't do it. 😆 gonna make a new build over the next 3 months and try this out. VC cost too much this year.
Ohhhhh man you're asking the tough questions!! I love both guys, but I've always appreciated KG's game just a little bit more because of how he uses his athleticism. But I loved TD in 22, I don't think too many people are good at defending the post game yet, and if you got a good TD build, I can see how you will dominate the game for sure!
Brodie maraming salamat!! Haha as a fellow 2k oldhead, you are speaking my language brodie!! Salamat sa support bro! wag mo share channel ko so that they won't know how they get cooked!!
I just have a question for the post hop step the one with Joel embiid pushing the joker out the way everytime I attempt to do that I end up doing a drop step is there a specific input or angle I have to be at to initiate that or does Joel need to face the basket?
No you can also do this with your back to the basket. So always point the right stick directly towards the basket. So for example with your back to the basket on the right side of the floor, you want to either double tap the right stick up-left towards the basket, or tap square and hold the left stick up-left.
Go into 2KU, then go into freestyle (if you want to lab on your own) or scrimmage (to play against an opposing team with no shot clock)! Thank you bro!
I don't know about attribute numbers, but I'd recommend strength first of all, inside and shot close attributes should be good, along with any attributes related to inside finishing like post hooks and post fades. Then I'd recommend post control so that you move around the post well and have great movement with your spins and counters. Then it's up to you if you want to give him a little handle and a little perimeter shooting!
Post control will affect your ability to move around in the post, so your spin moves, your launches, and your movement counters. I don't think it affects post shot animations, but I can't say for sure!
I'd definitely choose between Jokic, Embiid, or KAT for a modern playstyle, and Hakeem (with adjustments to shooting). Between those four, I had the most success with Jokic, but I think objectively an Embiid build would be the hardest to defend because of his physicality!
Mistakes happen when making the video, it's just the nature of having to do this on a part time basis. But that's why I put the stick inputs there so that you can check for yourself will try to be more consistent next time. Appreciate the feedback!
On the move at 3:00, every time I start the post hook he does the one with an extra step, have you ever done that one? It seems so consistent I’m not sure how to get the quicker animation
Maybe your post pivot position is different from this one? Or you're on the opposite side of the floor. The type of hook shot you get is different depending on your footwork, angle to the basket, and positioning on the court.
Are all these moves for Next Gen only? I watched the previous video but I can’t seem to do any of the advanced most moves, all I can do are the post jab/straight step backs and spin/drive step backs. Or do I just need to have a high ball handle in order to perform these moves, my post scorer has a ball handle of 62.
Unfortunately the post game is the only aspect of 2K thats got a big difference between gens. I cant test it out for sure, because i dont have access to current gen. But if there’s enough interest, I’ll go find a way.
Everything on default, so camera absolute is the stick. the left stick inputs are the only thing that will change with the angle of your player, but RS inputs should be the same for the most part!
Yes, this is the only 2K that has very significant animations that you can actually do because of the engine behind this game. Bro, I just guess bout the cradle layups maybe it is only a chance theres no significance to hit a button to actually do it? It is only my theory though or maybe a specific angle on the midrange? like on Mortal Kombat you have exact locations to do a specific Fatality? Mortal Kombat Ultimate hahaha
I found that coming from more of a side angle can help with cradle layups this year if you want the non euro cradle. So try at a 45 degree angle from the left or right!
@@KevinCruz016 My theory is wrong, I am doing the cradle always hahaha, The animation fuck me hard when I am carefully looking the animation of Euro and Cradle cradle is a micro euro step and Lebrons cradle animation has only one that he literally brings the ball. So in short the animation I thought was Euro is actually a cradle layup.. hahahaha.. I guess Derrick Rose has this cradle on its finest
I feel like these shot were much easier to use on 2k22. The superstar and HOF sliders on 2k23 make these advanced level shots really hard to use online. The green window is so small for these shots, throw in stamina and contests, it's really makes you think twice about taking them. Great video!
I'll have to agree that shot making in the paint is a bit tricky with contact, contests, and the adjustments to shooting. It will take a lot more work for sure, but I think if we keep working we'll get a leg up on our opponents for sure! Appreciate you Logan!
Cancelling animations means interrupting the animation out of a previous input. In this case while holding L2 + R2 and tapping the RS to the left, which initiated a post spin fake, I immediately tapped square and held the left stick away from the basket to interrupt the spin fake. So as soon as the spin fake animation starts you want to immediately input your stepback jumper input!
I had a bunch of online post footage from my MyTeam series. I imagine running a post big in Rec can be tough if your teammates don't space for you. At some point, I want to do Rec and Park modes, but just don't have the time to grind yet!
@KevinCruz016 yea I only play REC. I need teammates but I usually go solo with randoms. Just wondering how well you do out there. I like your moves tho. Good vid
Man I see some rec footage with randoms, and if they kill spacing for you, there aint no way lol. But I do plan on going online for sure! Just want to knock these tutorials out the way!
If we are talking about shots, I like to mix things up, but I mostly use the shot button for post hop shots. For hook shots and shimmies I am mostly using the right stick!
