I hope Eliud come backs strong after his last race. If he is at his best again then I think he will do well with Kiptum pacing him in the second half because remember Eliud can run sub-2hr with a pacemaker so Kiptum could drag him along and then Eliud storm past at the end for the win. If Eliud is actually done then Kiptum will win with a WR because Kiptum does not need Eliud to run fast. Either way whoever wins will run a WR.

@@TH-cx2yx Plus everyone I spoke to in Kenya laughs at the thought that EK's age is real. It's well known that Kenyan athletes in EK's era lie about their age. They rarely have accurate birth certificates, to the honest this makes EK all the more amazing if it's true.

If kipchoge is still in his peak years... then boy oh boy... Kiptum and kipchoge will be the most crazy and most anticipated marathon of all time. Now, I am NOT counting kipchoge out! "BUT", "But" lets face something here... Kiptum ran in the same conditions... missed his bottle... and still almost broke the world record! (Not to mention a huge negative split!), and kipchoge also missed his maurten at tokyo! (Remember?) I think The reason "REAL" why kipchoge lost is because he went out tooo fast, and does not know boston course. If kiptum is "right" with kipchoge at half way point... then... Kipchoge might be in trouble...

@CYMotorsport

Kiptum is going to SMASH the record. He’s different. It’s just how it goes. A new breed or runner and he’s focusing on the marathon especially young which is rare. kiptum is 23 and has run the 2nd & 4th fastest all time. Eliud didn’t run under 2:04 until his early 30s. We can pretend marathons peak late but of course that’s not true. It’s just not something a young body would prefer. On his debut at 29 he lost to the world record time of Kipsang. Who is a year older than Eliud. Imagine what Kiptum will be doing in another half decade from right now. It’s wild. If he stays motivated and focused on the marathon which I haven’t the slightest clue why he would but I’m grateful to witness, then no man and no record stands a snowballs chance in hell.

Eliud Kipchoge is much more expirienced than Kiptum therefore I think that Kipchoge out run Kiptum on the other handKiptum may have the advanced role of the underdog and can surprise everyone if Eliud fail. But I think Kipchoge may have missed Boston because he has not had his companions and was running on his own the whole time and if Eliud has his team with him in Berlin it will be difficult for Kiptum to win this marathon. Is a world record in Berlin more important than the win? Meaning, if they both show up, do they want to be tactical/slower, or would it be in their interest to basically both go all in and whatever happens, happens? I don't see these guys caring about the WR as much as that purse. Of course, a WR and the win, well that's probably a big pay day as well.
