The Elizabeth line just got better. 

That’s the media in a nutshell! After all the media only like to report on things they think will make viewers react. The Elizabeth line is still a massive and welcome engineering feat, and despite being overbudget is actually on track to break even in the next financial year! (through a mixture of revenue from fares / rough estimates of the benefits the line will bring to the community)

Interestingly, Acton Mainline’s frequency will not increase - it will remain at 4 trains per hour. Ealing Broadway on the other hand, will receive 10 trains per hour! Seems a little unfair but the additional fast trains should separate Heathrow passengers from west London commuter traffic a bit better.

Interestingly not, no. Services from Shenfield will run only to Paddington/Heathrow 5 with some journeys to Heathrow 4 on weekends. Abbey Wood to Reading/Maidenhead will continue as before.

No service will be too long .
