He was what people called a twinless twin. He was constantly in search for that other person. His mother told him, it was up to him to live for the two since his twin was lost at birth.
After watching many videos of Elvis, Visiting Graceland 3 times, reading the books these men wrote about him, and watching the Movie Elvis that just came out with Austin Butler, I realized that the world and fans like me can't get enough of Elvis. I mean I am always reading or looking for something to know more about Elvis. The world was cheated out of Elvis when he died so young, he lived such a fast life and it ended so quickly. When I think of what Elvis was dealing with all the years, I felt he was confused all the time, it's impossible to make sense of anything when everywhere you went, he was the focus of everybody. I always thought how great it would be to talk to Elvis alone where no one is watching, just talking to this great entertainer and person. I miss Elvis more than normal people. Long live the King"
It is very interesting. And why he seemed so self destructive. Have went through periods of everything Elvis, went to Graceland once, would like to go again and to Tupelo. The world will never have another Elvis and I believe that is why he endures with more and more fans. We don’t want to let go of someone that was so unique and had a God given voice, because he certainly did.
I don't think Elvis' boys liked Larry Geller very much. He was a relative "newcomer" to the group, and I think they felt, along with Tom Parker, thought he may have exerted too much influence on him. But I think they were simply jealous. Geller was an intensely spiritual man (as opposed to "religious" which Elvis didn't particularly care for), and he taught him many things, largely through sharing his collection of spiritually-motivated books with him, like "The Prophet," which remained Elvis' favorite until the day he died. RIP, Elvis Aron Presley.
But I also think members of the Memphis Mafia didn't warm to Geller was because he was probably the most philosophical and intellectual member of the gang. Geller could speak to EP on an intellectual level, hence why they seem to get on like a house on fire. Whereas its clear from this interview that the other members didn't have these taints, likely because they were the logistic and muscle guys.
They helped dig Elvis's grave! The bandmates were the best influence he had. They really liked Elvis and EVERYONE only speaks well of him, despite some personal problems. They always emphasized the good things.
Yes. You are right when you said that Elvis was awesome. Awesome is putting it mildly when you are talking about Elvis. He was like an Angel from heaven. He maintained his committment to God with a few lapses because of the lifestyle he ended up having to deal with. He was the king and he was a prince among men.
I'm glad they share their stories. They dedicated their LIVES to Elvis when he was alive. They have earned the right to talk. I don't think they're "bad people" for talking at all! They're keeping his legend alive along with Priscilla and Graceland.
Without these guys memories, we'd have nothing but what Parker allowed... Elvis never really gave an interview that was personal... Just fluff... The guys protected him, and should be commended for that... The most popular entertainer on the planet, and NOBODY ever got close enough to hurt him... Lay off the guys, people... They gave up their own lives for him... Easy to judge...
Elvis Presley wanted these guys to be with him and that's all that matters he was what he was I unconditionally love the story but I loved elvis Presley so very much
There will never be another Elvis. I am a black man that felt his “soul.” He truly opened the door for black entertainers. He helped mainstream black music on white radio stations.
IF ONLY YOU COULD RID YOURSELF OF BIAS AND LISTEN TO WHAT JAMES BROWN, JACKIE WILSON AND SO MANY OTHER SAID ABOUT HIM. READ YOUR HISTORY OF WHAT BLACK ENTERTAINERS SAID. NOT YOUR OWN IGNORANCE.
I think if elvis had fired the colonel and gotten new management then maybe elvis would've begun to perform in other countries and maybe not be taking all those pills and only God almighty knows but I truly believe that he would've lived a whole lot longer ....If I'm not mistaken but wasnt the colonel an illegal from The Netherlands and afraid he wouldn't be allowed back in the country therefore leaving him with no income which was like 50% of elvis's earnings ...but like I said this is me just picturing an Elvis Presley accomplishing much more
You are not entirely right. The reason why Elvis could not tour outside of the United States is because of his guns and pills, none of which he could carry in those quantities he had across borders. Nothing to do with the Colonel. In fact, the Colonel had contacts with some of the most politically influential people in the country and could easily make himself legal, but he was not bothered about it either.
That is a silly excuse, if the colonel was illegal and he was linked to the biggest star in the world, the US government would of known about it. If elvis thought that was a problem, he would just rang Nixon. "So hey Mr President my manager needs US citizenship, can you help out. Sure buddy". Job done. Nope Parker was tied to the mob and the mob controlled Parker, who controlled Elvis. Parker and the mob had something big on EP and it kept him the in the US forever.
Between Col Parker, the atmosphere of Vegas, and his lifestyle, he was put in an early grave, sadly. He would have been 82 today. A bright candle burns quickly.
Elvis had choices like any one else. Yes, grew up poor wrong choices of friends and not checking out your manager, letting him make all decisions, when he could have refuse too take rest. You could still be a giver and love money. He had a first home , why did he buy Graceland, expensive cars so, on. If he did not like money he would kept simple life. Was he that stupid not to see, what Parker was doing? Was he that Stupid being pushed in a marriage, precilla was a young kid, of 14 wanted 7 or 8 years to get married, there is something wrong with this picture. Than his mom comes not happy start drugs and drinking, he acts like kid. Why was she depressed? If she wanted to live a poor life she had a choice. It seems like real life got mix with fake world it wasn’t real world for him. When you play different character I believe your mind gets mixed up. Sometimes that would t drive person mad. These hollywood people are not themselves. There some that cannot play the character stay who they are.
In a short time, Elvis lived way more than most of us , gave to other more than most of us, and loved more than most of us , he touched so many with his beautiful soul . He really was an angel .
I don't know, I've always thought his vocals were best per each particular time/times of his life! I guess what I'm trying to say is like every few years as he aged and his voice matured!
@@richardchristman8913 he got better when he got the monitors so he could hear himself sing. He liked it. He wanted to make sure he held the microphone at the right place to get the sounds he wanted. Have you noticed he will pull the microphone away at times then closer? That was so he could adjust to the sound he wanted. JD does that too.
If it wasn't for the book Elvis What Happened? I wouldn't be an Elvis fan today. To me, these books showed me Elvis was a prodigy, a musical genius! And sadly any genius lives on the boarder line of insanity. How could he have lived a normal life? How he lived as long as he did is beyond me.
Great documentary!! Thanks for sharing🙏I’m a huge huge Elvis fan. Love him so much❤️I’m so grateful these guys shared there stories and memories as most have passed on now. You can see that they Loved Elvis and of course Elvis Loved them. I don’t blame them for what happened. It’s not there fault.
Time you knew the truth! Red West or East? "Son"ny West or East? A Rusty ole Well? "g"od=EL/VI's VI's= 666's! Elvis the 100% FEMALE BORN PELVIS is in fact the 100% FAKE Donald Trump! Never died from drugs. Never DIED! The only drug "she" was ever addicted to or infested with was TESTOSTERONE! ALL of these dn ǝpıs uʍop non stop lying creatures are utterly ridiculous BUFFOONS+DUNCES!
Instead of the Memphis maffia these 4-5 crooks should have been called the Memphis leeches, who just took advantage of a good guy like Elvis. So disgusting to listen to their stories of how they would get the girls that would come to see Elvis, those were girls I'm sure these loosers could never had, Had their been on their own, they kept Pricilla away from her husband and contributed greatly to the divorce, I'm sure they had years of toasting to the divorce after Elvis divorced. Very selfish people, always thinking of what they could get from him.... they never understood the depth of the man, Elvis knew he was serching for something spiritual, too bad he ended up with a bunch of blood suckers who isolated him from the people who really loved him. This is indeed a hard watch.
@@AT-cy7im On point: I feel the same way. It also was different times back than( right now it is extremly painfull for Elvis's daughter passed away. Lisa was instrumental in keeping her father's estate intact. I know how you feel ( I grew up very similar, and nobody told me to "stop smoking pot") Honestly, this is a very difficult time for Elvis's friends. I think they really respected Elvis alot. At this present time the Pricilla is very upset that her only daughter passed away. No hard feelings, the whole crew, and Pricilla are dealing with a death in the Presely family right now.
They sound like a bunch of parasites waiting for the scraps to fall from the bosses table.Ive heard some stories about all these "Yes men" if they were that close ,why did he die? makes me sick.
Elvis died because he did not want to get the help he needed to get better. You can not help someone if they dont help themselves. Elvis was addicted to those pills and would do anything to get them. They could not have stopped him. It is very sad and tragic what happened to him, but ultimately it was of his own doing.
RADIUM CLOCK They still are regular Joes. They’re actually pathetic, people only listen to them for Elvis stories and 90% of what they say is probably bullshit.
Elvis was a phenomenon. His voice was magic; it was rich, full, melodic and rhythmic. So incredibly sexy. And--bonus, his looks facial, and physical, how he moved. He was incredibly sexy. Even to his death. He was ill, older, suffering from fluid retention. He was still extremely sexy. No one around him understood his health problems. And from what I understand, even his actual thinking. He kept his personal philosophy to himself.
Incredibly so yes, my mum and sister were devoted to the King 👑, I was raised on his LPs and movies, along with the Beatles, and still rate him above the rest. 🇬🇧☘️📚🙏
ELVIS was blessed with a great voice and beautiful face and body. He had a magical sense sense of humor that drew you to him. I am so happy that the guys decided to share thier personal stories.
Yes he had a great voice but not a great body. He had narrow shoulders and sunken chest. He had an attractive face but not a nice body. Now a days many men have better bodies
I’ve read and read and watched documentaries over the years and it’s sad to say there really was no saving the man! Like the guys said if you spoke up you were gone! He surrounded himself with yes men! On purpose of course !
He want yes men ,red and sonny fired because tel him about his drug problem, and he dont like it,he doesnt like the way lamar tell the truth in front of his face about the bullshits elvis doing in times,
@@tolistolis8277 Ahh your talking about the time he told Billy he was going to also fire Lamar and dick grove saying Lamar another one always bitching and telling him what to do lol
Elvis should have dumped the Col. when he made the comeback special in 68' and took hold of his career and hired new management. He proved to himself and the industry he was still a musical force to reckoned with with that special. The manor in which he dropped the movies should have shown him that ultimately he was in charge. He never seemed to grasp the idea that it was his career and his choices from there on in. Instead he'd lapsed into that worker /boss relationship with the Col. letting the Col. dictate the career to him. It may have been the perfect recipe during his rise, but by 68' the Col. himself was an out of touch and over his head as far as how to properly manage that level of famous artist. To the end of his days the Col. never evolved beyond being a self serving, tent show con man. It's hard to fault the col. for being what he always was...a low class, hick grifter plying his trade like he was still in the circus sideshow. I think the outcome may have been much different if Elvis had engaged a management team that was more in touch with the best interests of the artist and at a lower percentage! At the end of the day it still comes back to Elvis himself as adult. He allowed it all to happen. Whether he complained or not,he allowed his career to be dictated to him. He even had another chance for an epiphany after the monumental worldwide "Aloha" broadcast. Once again he demonstrated that he was still a worldwide drawing card. He could have quite easily shifted to doing single night stadium and big venue performances like young rock artists were at the time and commanding huge bucks. Instead he relegated himself to gruelling Vegas schedules and touring small markets endlessly like a travelling freak show with his dismal end almost becoming a foregone conclusion!
@Frida Kahlua Elvis did not become instantly famous. He followed a deliberate path to fame. It may have seemed relatively fast, but it was deliberate, progressive and the result of intentional action on his part.
Elvis was the conduit for white people to fully embrace black music. He was not afraid! He took a lot of criticism for it but he had the backbone to stand for what he believed. The other thing Elvis could do was deliver the music the right way. Pat Boone couldn't do it. Andy Williams couldn't do it. No white singer could do what Elvis did but ELVIS. He had the name, the voice, the style, the confidence and the look! So even when the haters arrived, it didn't matter. Girls were passing out!
These guys were bored in the late 60's because Elvis was into the search for truth and the party was old. 10 yrs later they were mad because he wouldn't straighten up.
Anyone who got the time to get to be and knew Elvis would write a book it’s just the WAY FAME GOES ! We all would if we could have known Elvis all of would !
Elvis seemed to have the biggest heart, but complex as a person. He surrounded himself with people he liked and enjoyed, but they couldn't tell him "no". I think he took these guys as friends to show they could be cool too. They were young, it was a boys club, but he enjoyed life the way he wanted. Sometimes you need people in your life that say "stop".
They basically killed him to have sex. Pitiful. They bragged about their screwing women who had sex with Elvis. What real man would do that. Arrange their whole life to have sex with women who wanted someone else? If Elvis didn't have these "yes men" he may have lived longer.
Some of these comments from these men are atrocious. Elvis to them was the magnetic alright that got the woman in , but it was these guys bedding them all before they could get to Elvis. It was probably the price they had to pay. AS far as Elvis was concerned, it has been stated by many of the girls that were with him, all Elvis ever wanted to do with them was talk and read and sing. I never used to think these men were leeches, but sorry, I have had to change my mind. These guys were on the take in so many many ways and for a long time. They were NOT his friends, nor were they looking out for his best interests, as true friends are supposed to do. It 2022 now and I have had to update my opinions and comments since first posting on RU-vid a year ago. There was so much more going on in Elvis's life than just his dependence on prescription medication. These guys here were a huge contributing factor to Elvis's early demise. They encouraged and egged on really bad and utterly immoral behaviour and i think that became a trap that Elvis fell into, no wonder his marriage fell apart with this mob around him 24/7.
they kinda threw him under the bus...never fails to amaze me at the lack of loyalty in the human being....Elvis, despite all his shortcomings was loyal total those guys.....
Maybe, but know one will ever know the whole story. Elvis never had the chance to tell his side of what these guys were saying. I will say this though, if he was really always thinking what was his purpose for being on this earth and why he was chosen to be Elvis, then just maybe these guys had no idea for awhile who Elvis really was until later. They were along for the ride and lots of fun. Sounds like he was keeping up the image for them too.
Sadly these guys were nothing but paid enablers for a man who obviously was suffering from major depression and serious addictions. As long as everyone was getting paid it made no difference about the state of this suffering human being.
I just thought about what you wrote think about it The King Of Rock & The Of Pop(Michael Jackson) died pretty much the same way All the money in the world they were still lost souls looking for that forever love & purpose.
No matter what- Elvis was King. And if only for a brief time, he had a relationship he valued with Priscilla. His story was so tragic, it's hard to overlook the sadness..and I LOVE his music..especially the blues. He was SO talented..❤
What was so tragic? He had a great life! Have u not heard My Way, only a selected few can live up to this songs motto,!😈did what many of us wish we could do with the money he earned! 💖, Partied, had a beautiful loving wife who put up with his bratty asz,had a child, friends that cared for him,ShT! Alive or passed on this man was(is) a $$$ making machine, ( not only in life ) but even after his death he was TCB. He helped many especially his ex wife & daughter & his daughter s kidz what about that Baz & Austin I like the movie but not real story! many, many people ever 💗 some 1so.
@@tonyalandon3275 It is not that simple and there is a reason he/she is called an addict. The drug is addictive you canot get off with just will power. The body and the mind cannot do it due to the power of the drug. You people think it is all about, yes choice was used at first to take the drug, but since it is fairly evident that a one time hit can make people addictive to the drug, the choice is out of people hands
When you have a group of people whose biggest accomplishment in life was taking Elvis' sloppy seconds it speaks volumes to their character. Truly vile.
Tbh most people would be in awe to be in his circle. They probably never thought it'd end that way and should have tried to stop his addictions. They ruined their marriages for that lifestyle and probably regretted it
Sometimes I am actually left thinking; "can they really hear themselves when they say that!?" I don't feel they shed a very nice light on themselves really. Like someone below mentions, from what it appears Elvis was their 'cash cow' and they were reaping the benefits of what came with being with Elvis, only in it for the laughs and the ass. As soon as someone tried to rain on their little parade they would get touchy and territorial.... I mean with Pricilla for instance, the way they describe her like she is some massive threat for "trying to change Elvis" or "trying to separate them from Elvis"... to be fair to the woman, I don't think I'd have been happy in her shoes either with 11 men sharing my home and my marriage every single day, knowing that wherever I go I have an entourage instead of a romantic meal for two and having to live with the fact that the same men were egging Elvis on a lot of the time to have these crazy parties, drugs and other women because it's what they wanted to do too. Or Larry who wanted to chat about philosophical and religious beliefs with Elvis instead of partying - they decided they all didn't like that because they all just wanted to "have a good time" with Elvis's influence and Elvis's money! As if he was a bad influence for trying to put Elvis on a righteous path. Selfish and power hungered the lot of them as far as I can concur from this, they seem to talk so fondly of him now because they say they all loved him though maybe it was more that they loved what Elvis could do for them and aren't able to have the things they had when he was alive now, where it seems they were using him to get in places, get drugs and get laid most of the time!
+Jordan Lea ....I am glad that I am not the only one that sees that!!! Elvis, himself, even stated that he had only 2 or 3 real friends. The rest of them tried using him and it is ashame that they are still trying to use him even today when he is gone!!! You have great insight.....if it looks, smells and tastes like BS....it is BS!!!
Marty Lacker for sure was very jealous of their marriage bc he wanted all of Elvis' attention.... Elvis paid him 10,000 dollars to leave and he was barely around in the 70s. So there you go. He put Priscilla first and it's made him so bitter.
Well said, I agree. These fools wanted to marry Elvis and have him all to themselves... and his money. What woman would want to live with her husband and 10 of his friends. I would have kicked their asses out before the wedding. Selfish imbeciles.
Exactly. Priscilla was Elvis's WIFE and these clowns did not respect her in that position and they resented the fact that she was infringing on their little Boy Scout troop. I simply cannot imagine what it was like for her to have these goons around CONSTANTLY underfoot. I give her credit for sticking it our for as long as she did. Elvis made his choice and he chose the Memphis Mafia over Priscilla and Lisa Marie.
Jordan Lea she came and found them with Elvis , they were there to protect Him, they were his personal body guards, from out in Germany they were There for him, she could have stay in Germany, because she roan his life and then leave him for her karate instructor !!! He make him look like a Little boy!!and he was a big star, He was Elvis Presley and die a lonely man!!!
Wow, this was a VERY good documentary from Elvis and his gang/boys. What an extraordinary life they all have through him and together, like they have bounded in the life before, what they surely did and they will be together in the afterlife again, like Elvis, which is now together with his parents, grandson and the peoples from his life, they are gone now. And as we do, and then we meet Elvis, there must be masses of peoples on that place.....but hopefully we meet Jesus at first . Much love from Vienna😍
That's gross the way they talk about using women, making women 'run the gauntlet', none of those guys were good looking either, must've been some very drunk women with beer goggles on. Feel bad for Priscilla.
I think I just want to be gracious towards Elvis Presley and his friends and family. So what if he had faults . Don't we all? He gave so much positivity and happiness in his music and he was so generous in every way. I don't think it's too much to ask to extend the same grace to Elvis that we all will need from God in the end. May God's grace always rest upon the man Elvis Presley who lived in Graceland. Amen 🙏
Thank you gentlemen for taking care of Elvis, as best that you could do. But ultimately he caused his own demise, do to drugs and over eating, and not taking better care of himself. He was truly loved by many. And there will only be one Elvis Presley.
'' When Elvis Died it was like a train stopping '' Yes it was the Gravy Train stopping ! What a Bunch of Parasitic Scum Bags , Poor Elvis did not have a chance !
I was only 13 when he die, it left like a dark cloud or something hanging around For the first ten yrs, it felt like god died. Can't put it into word just right. But he was truly missed.
Oh yes, they had fun together. But when Elvis was in a bad place they missed the fun and they let him fall like a hot potato. They got famous because of Elvis and they should have told certain things without the dirty details.
Sorry. Not so tough. I'm seeing at a lot of collateral damage here. I'm thinking they were all just giggling little girls .... hanging out with the cool kid. ,🤠
I don't know what Elvis guys said to him about his drug intake, but if one them had the nerve to tell Elvis that his mother was looking down at him to stop the drugs he may have stopped what he was doing to himself, at least planned a seed in his mind.
Love Elvis Presley the music we hear today is because of the king of Rock n roll if there were no Elvis back then the music would not be like it is today
Women don’t especially think that they are going to change them it’s thst a woman expects the man she marries to prefer her over other things in his life. She should be the one he wants to be with over anyone else. That’s what a woman expects. His buddies are fun but a man should prefer her over his buds. That’s all. They say she tried to change him? NO! I think a man should be as committed to her if he’s chased her to win her over then don’t just shelf her once he marries. That’s not fair. If he didn’t want to get married he shouldn’t have. But I do know Elvis did love Priscilla. He just wasn’t sure how to be married. He probably expected a wide to be like mom always there when he comes home. My husband and I were well matched cause I worked avd he worked. When we came together at the end of the day we were there. My husband was a drag racer. And I loved drag racing too. So whatever we had to do to achieve what we both loved then we did that. I know lots of women like that in drag racing. A drag racer can’t be married to a woman if she doesn’t love it too. You have to have things in common. And we did. Priscilla would have better off with Elvis if she had a life too to come back together at the end of the day. But being married to a performer of Elvis caliber is hard I’m sure no matter what. He didn’t want her going off to live and come back together at the end of the day. She was so young they didn’t know how to be together. So be it. He didn’t always confide in her his thoughts and Needs. It’s sad.
My father bears a good resemblance of him except my daddy is tone deaf lol, sadly I cry everytime I see these documentaries it reminds me my own daddy is not immortal either
He ( Elvis) accomplish a lot in the short life he lived, many entertainers lived way past Elvis and never quite reach the same level , if any one did????who..
I've loved Elvis for over 50 years but, with the exceptions of Billy Smith, Larry Geller and Jerry Schilling, I find these guys so sleazy. The way they talk about women. 'We got more ass than a toilet seat.' Amazing how many viewers overlook how awful it all is, even for the time. How could Priscilla have stood it for so many years? I know Elvis loved them and felt he needed them but Lamar Fike himself showed they were bad for him, when he said that Elvis 'didn't make friends easy' and that with them 'he didn't have to'. If he'd forced himself to push his boundaries a little, he may have managed to save himself from the exploitation that led to his early death. No one should live like that. Even Elvis hated it at the end. Such a tragedy.
They all were typical passed century macho's. Specially acting as a group. I never liked Elvis. He was the biggest silly macho sexist of all. Priscilla was his toy. Thought him to be a fake. Over acting all the time. Smooth and not a natural. These clothes....o my word. He really thought he was a king of Jezus Christ himself. Laughable.
Elvis was physical perfection in my eyes. His voice was certainly awesome and he was such a generous man. I just wish he had found the internal strength to overcome needing all the pills to deal with life. There will never be another like him.
I ALWAYS AS A TEENAGER THOUGHT ELVISCLIVED AN UPSTANDING LIFE! I DIDNT KNOW HE SMOKED OR HAD ANY BAD TRAITS! I THOUGHT HE TRIED TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION. CLEAN CUT! WE KNEW NONE OF THESE THINGS. SMOKING REALLY SHOCKED ME! IM ALKERGIC TO IT.
NONE OF THEM WOULD OF WORKED A NORMAL DAY IN THERE LIFE BILLY SMITH LEFT SCHOOL AND NEVER WORKED A DAY IN HIS LIFE AND IS ANGRY WITH PRISCILLA PRESLEY TURNING HIM OUT
I hear a bunch of y’all putting these guys down?? I’m sure y’all have no idea what you are talking about!! Elvis had these guys around him for years!! They dedicated their lives to Elvis and probably did know they were doomed along with him at the end!!!
I suggest y'all read Dr. Nick's book, Jerry Schilling's book & a book called, "Elvis: Destined to Die Young", by Sally Hoedel. There will be a lot explained. A LOT.
They were paid around 200 bucks per week for a 24 hour a day job... Perks, for sure, but just imagine that life... Not as glamorous as you might think...
Everyone to their own in this world but Elvis will remain the King of Rock n Roll and never be forgotten! He dedicated his life to 🎶 music for all us ! RIP ~
The more I hear about the real Elvis, the more I love him. Elvis was on the same spiritual journey. I have been on, for my e ntire life. I have always adored Elvis, now I see that he was more than just a man, more than the biggest entertainer the world has ever seen!
Like anything people only wanna be around people if it's a benefit to them.they took and took from elvis,if he told them to eat a terd they would have to get whatever they wanted from him.
Parker used Elvis for his personal piggy bank,Elvis wanted to your over seas ,he became board with his life he had no challenge and Elvis was a genius who needed a challenge he wanted better movie scripts and Parker only cared about himself ,Mr Van Couk apparently escaped Holland after he killed a woman that's why no European Tours!!! Not making excuses for Elvis but he always needed a challenge and things became too routine so food and drugs ultimately killed him,!! God Rest his Soul❣️💓💕💕

Red,sonny,Lamar, and Marty cared for and loved Elvis... no doubt in my mind. People get mad at them saying things like why did they let Elvis keep taking all those pills?Listen how do you protect someone who had the means to get what he wanted when he wanted it?Red busted up a guy one time for bringing Elvis pills,Elvis told Red that he needed them(pills). That’s why Red,Sonny, and I believe it was Dave that was fired in 76... Elvis told Billy Smith that he didn’t like people telling him what to do and trying to control him. If Red,Sonny,Marty,Lamar, and Billy weren’t around as long as they were,Elvis would have died sooner than 42. They wrote the book because they were hurt and because they wanted to challenge Elvis.. Maybe Elvis would read it and see what he had become and change.
I couldn't of said that better myself. I was involved in a bad accident that left me with rods, pins and plates. I too became addicted too opiods from my doctor. I found myself buying pills of the street. I am grateful that I had enough sense too get off them. The withdraws we're hell but I'm a better man for it today
I will never know why he kept the scum around him. He knew exactly what they were all up to. He knew they were all jealous of each other and had their hands out all the time. He was not dumb. He was not unbalanced. He was a kind man, a generous man, who took them all in over the years. They had no skills. He took care of them. They hung around him. Then they complained about what a terrible life they had. They were free to leave at any time. Millions would have changed places with them.
when they started criticizing larry and said he was getting elvis into "california cult" stuff lol. fact of the matter is larry was like a breath of fresh air to elvis. elvis was a truth seeker surrounded by nobodies.
It sounds to me they appreciated Elvis, none of them talk trash about him, they're just telling the truth! Without Elvis they probably wouldn't have had a job that was equal to the pay that they were getting.
All those guys TRULY loved Elvis and wouldve taken a bullet for him and him for them in most instances. I dont hear them complaining about anything. I hear them praising Elvis and talking about how great the times were all together
@@elvisgal8953 they didnt talk trash on elvis. they just werent particulary inspiring people and didnt understand elvis's needs so much. i'm sure they're good people, it's just a conflict between loyalty to family and cosmic purpose. elvis loved them to a fault.. he allowed them to hamper his progression.
Enjoyed watching this, there are a million others who would have loved to be with Elvis,he gave these guys everything and all that he wanted was loyalty’s and trust, and Elvis knows the truth, and that Is what matters, all I can say is when GOD created ELVIS he broke the mould, a very special man,who brought happiness to millions of people, and that he can be proud of,maybe he was put here, just to bring happiness to others, and he gave every sweat 😓 and tear to making people happy, and he succeeded in that, and that in it self is amazing, achievement, may he R.I.P god bless always, heaven is his home now,he is loved, with his momma! He doesn’t have to be anything else but just himself I can imagine the relief, guy count your blessing, and I will always rem Elvis as the first time I ever feel in love 😍 I’d watch him on the telly, and think my god he is gorgeous and the perfect looking man I have ever seen, and that still hasn’t changed in my eyes, like I said when god created Elvis he broke the mould xxx
