am i the only one who couldnt get over (spoilers): Jailbreaks name was LYNDA??? WhAt The Emoji Pop... That "dance" is LITERALLY Peek-a-boo- bUt wiTh eMoJis Gene's parents side story??? What was even happening??? aNd WhY was it necessary??? "Whats the point of being number one, if there are no other numbers?" Wh- whAt.. What does that have to do with the plot? I dont even know what it meAns. Its like the movie's tRYING to have a meaning, but its just not... Anything! The movie ended with ZERO effect on me, or anyone else in the theatre. (just by looking around, everyone one else was just as confused as I was) I only watched this movie because Im one of those people who watch bad movies to laugh at, but... This movie isnt even bad in any good way! PleaSe, people, DONT waste your money

This movie is so much like other movies! Inside Out Wreck It Ralph Lego Movie (I didn't even think about how much it is to this until you brought it up in the video) Secret Life of Pets (same situation with lego movie) So many movies did it better and these are all recent meaning this wasn't like an accident they did this they purposely made a rip off film from every other better movie!

Let's hope Tartakovsky's Popeye film will still come out, then again Sony might find a way to botch it too

Not defending this movie in any way; we all knew how much of a frankenstien of recycled tropes it is...BUT, I dunno, from the animation that was shown off here, it looks energy-filled. I mean, the colors look way too bright and obnoxious, but if we could just get a good movie with the same kind of CG animation flow and energy(with duller colors. better character design, etc.).

I feel that honesty all the hate people were throwing at it was giving the film to much credit. It seems to be a type of bad that isn't even remarkably bad, let alone worth internet wide attention. Other awful movies can be recommended for a watch ether because they're hilariously bad or can serve as a sort of educational piece on how not to make a film. With this movie though there just isn't any substance, there's nothing there worth remembering, learning from, or even getting angry about.

I kind of want to tack on a little extra thing to your Wreck-It Ralph comparison: With Wreck-It Ralph, Ralph was ALSO wanting to break out of being the bad guy cause he was feeling unappreciated in his own game: Felix was a nice enough guy to him, cause Felix was pretty much unable to NOT be a nice guy, but the nicelanders didn't like him or really care about him. After he comes to accept being a badguy, and after their near-apocalypse without him, the nicelanders start appreciating him more: so even though he's back in his original role, he's happier IN said role. With the Emoji Movie (haven't seen it but I've seen clips of the resolution by people more tolerant then me) Gene essentually can't do his job in the first place, and the whole "multiple emotion" thing... well, doesn't that KIND of put the OTHER emojis out of a job if Gene can both do it all AND do something unique? Also the "Pulling the plug"/"format the phone" thing is different kinds of apocolypse: with WIR, pulling the plug was essentually meaning the game cabinet was going to be carted off never to be used again. With the emoji movie, it's just resetting the phone back to factory standards- so kind of like time travel? On a personal nitpick note: the kid basically unplugs his phone from the formatting computer when its 99.9% complete... and somehow that makes it get ALL that deleted data back? sorry, that doesn't work that way...

The premise is the worst thing ever but I felt like you gave it a fair chance unlike most of the RU-vid community despite the negative hype. I hate the film but still appreciate how maturely you handled the review so it didn't become a mindless hate video. SUBSCRIBED :)

Spoiler free? Why even give this movie the respect of providing a spoiler free review? It's ***king awful and no one in their right mind would have any issue with anyone spoiling it's crap recycled story line in a review. :P

Oh Chad... you have my empathy for seeing this movie. Though I will say that I applaud you for avoiding an overly cynical/pessimistic attitude with your review of this flop. Afterall, the world hasn't ended because of this, nor will it when this movie becomes long forgotten.

I think the main reason why this movie passed so many people off is because it had so much potential. ...... Yeah I know it sounds cracked, but hear me out. I've watched at least 3 reviews of the Emoji Movie (this one included), where a better premise is introduced. Wheter it was Emojis in a kid's phone trying to connect with them or a servant going to fetch the prettiest girl in the kingdom for the queen, they all did something new and interesting with the "world inside your phone" concept. All of which I would've loved to see in this movie (especially that second premise, cuz I'm a bisexual dork who loves fantasy adventure stories), but instead it just did the bare minimum of a family film made as a side hustle for stuff like "Into the Spiderverse" or "Mitchell's vs the Machines". Call me crazy, but I think I actually want a remake of "The Emoji Movie". How about you?

Thank god I could find a review of this masterpiece with no spoilers, because as we all know, this movie has some of the most plot to ever be in a film

The only reason I didn't see the Princess twist coming was because I paid such little attention I forgot there was a princess Emoji. I don't think anybody can blame me on missing that one.

I like his style, but I feel like he need to bring up more diversity in his content. Like he should put the drawing style videos, top ten, and even more stuff that is movie related, such as theories, symbolism in movies, and much more. What do you guys think Lewtoons should do. I just feel like lately he just been putting out good, nicely edited reviews.

i watch it today, it was neutral good and bad. The plot was their but, they could of added more to the plot and development to the main cast like give them a back story and how they ended up in that kid's phone

well, in the cinema near me there was world record attempt, for the most people dressed the same (as emojis ofc). they sounded very happy so i guess they succeeded.

[Preface: I don't know Lewtoons: I watch the first two minutes of his Moana review, this one in full, and then two minutes of the Trolls review, since i have pretty critical views of either and a genuine want for this one to be... anything besides other reviews. So here goes.] I greatly appreciate that he does go 'out of the way' to be positive about movies... I think it's just refreshing to see something besides "BURN IT WITH FIRE" reviews. That being said, the comparison between how he handled Moana, which was super positive (whilst i think very poorly of it, sue me) and Trolls, which was pretty whatever (whereas i really liked it), i can't particularly say that i can totally be on the same page as him. Refreshing as it may be, even just having previewed those other reviews tells me that there's definitely a bias simply based on the "clothes" that the overall movie has; i.e. just because it's from Disney doesn't mean it's gonna be gold. So then, it's good that he gives it a chance, but not so good that he does some follow-the-leader stuff.
