The Emotional Power of People in Photography, with Sylvain Guenot 

In a world where AI can choose and insert any background for your photos, Sylvain spends two or more hours with people to, in his own words:
‘… to choose the best places to shoot, background being essential to my environmental approach…. This pre-shooting time is vital in building up an intimate and trustworthy relationship between you and me, an indispensable element to produce successful results.’
It was in Stroud, Gloucestershire, when I first met Sylvain, visiting the famous farmers market in a sunny weekend.
The unexpected meeting ended up for me enjoying a two-hour photoshoot the next day including a masterclass in photography, and for him becoming one of the amazing artists who sat with me and told me his story.
'Intimate and trustworthy relationship' is what makes a whole difference, what makes us different from AI.
We have to go out, pick up the tools, use our imagination, put things together, we have to… We have to relish the essence of the journey not just the end result.
