at least they wouldn't need to racebend anyone...they may make Kuzko a girl though...which he kinda is anyway but would make him even worse I think. Michele Wolf can turn milk sour with her voice.
I'm fascinated by the version of Peru in the Emperor's New School. They have modern day technology like television but they've clearly not been colonised by the Spanish, as they still have their own monarchy, which I originally took to mean they were in a pre-Columbian time but with modern-day elements that would simply be lost to time in the future of that world, similar to the world of Disney's Hercules, but then I noticed references to France and specifically the can-can, Riverdance, and other things that suggest not only a present-day setting but an awareness of the wider world, which suggests this is a parallel version of 20th century Peru that has contact with the rest of the world but either was never invaded by Spain or successfully fended off the Conquistadors and any subsequent attempts at invasion, maintaining its monarchy and many of its traditions but eventually becoming exposed to modern western influence through global trade. That begs the question of how the rest of the world is different in this timeline, whether other parts of the Americas resisted European invasion and colonisation, and what interesting technologies and traditions arose from civilisations that were able to develop without interference.
I almost thought this show was a fever dream when I was a kid I guess it was an actual show 🤣 man Disney in the early 2000s made amazing animated shows
I think the animation direction is really good. Definitely not high budget, but making the designs more angular make it work so well with the more limited 'choppy' animation.
