It is impossible to cover 1000 years of history in 15 minutes but well worth an effort I wish you had cited athe contemporary written sourses, many do not know they exist. Sedentary Fulbe were of two classes: the Warriors to which general Koli belonged, and the Clerics who were in all Fulbe clans, not just the Toorobhe. Even the nomadic Fulas like the Wodaabhe has their clerics and were never animists.

A Fulani prince from Timbo, Futa Djallon named Abd al Rahman Ibrahim Ibn Sori was taken into slavery in the Carolinas, whom was able to win his freedom by petitioning the Sultan of Morocco in Arabic to contact the American president and demand his release, which worked, although it took over a decade for him to be released and even longer for him to make it back to his homeland, a lot of his family never made it back so his descendants still live in America, not knowing their royal heritage. Also Omar Ibn Saïd was a warrior from Futa Toro who’s pen manuscripts still exist today, in a museum in Washington DC. A lot of Fulani were sold into slavery by the Mandinke, Ka’nuri and Tuareg people, but also vice versa as the Fulani eventually became some of the biggest slave raiders in Bilad es Sudān (West Africa)
