@@InReserveProductions If there was machinery in the armor that made rhythmic vibrations, yes. Otherwise, you could just walk the way people do in the desert to avoid the worm. I assume that there's some wiggle room with the vibrations, otherwise your own heartbeat would give you away. Also, flamethrowers would be a good counter to the shields. Just a stray thought I had.

Thats because the devs didnt really understand fallout or think. Whereas in fallout 2 (unfair to judge by new vegas as it didn't exist yet), communities are starting to coalesce and the problems are moving away from mere survival, to instead being nations maintaining sovereignty and expanding influence, in fallout 3 after 200 years everyone is still in a caveman mindset where every village is an island, everyone you meet is an enemy and true political powers dont exist (yes there's the BOS and enclave but those are exceptions in the vain of the BOS and the unity in the first game). This is made even more ridiculous by the settlements themselves. Megaton has no water source and has an undetonated nuclear bomb that it was built around. Arefu is built on a highway which theoretically should be great for defence (don't tell the family that) but terrible for trade (though at least they have a water source not too far unlike megaton).

This makes me want to buy, mod and then play FO3 more than anything.

@@mappingshaman5280 I remember reading somewhere that the plan originally was for Fallout 3 to be set much more earlier than 200 years after the bombs, which would solve or explain why the map and situation is so dire, with the heavy focus on purifying water, but in order to shoehorn the BoS and Enclave in, they messed it up
