Thanks to piracy being extremely popular in Brazil’s Ps2 era, I played the japanese version of this game as a kid. Did it with a PlayStation games magazine that told you exactly what to do to beat 100%, despite the game being in japanese. It’s funny how none of your valid criticisms didn’t even cross my mind back in the day; as a kid, me and my friends just thought it was the greatest game of all time. We played the multiplayer on each other’s houses, and I loved the campaign even tough it’s cleary repetitive and dull. There was a way to play as Sasuke outside of that dungeon section by equiping a specific bandana to Naruto, and when I found it out I felt like a fucking genius lol. Even if it’s not a great game, they surely are great memories.

The difference between EU and the rest of the world wasn't just less fps, because the electricity refresh rate (Hz) was slower every single part of the game really did run slower, so when you said the gameplay felt slower that's because it really was. It really sucks for people like me that like to collect physical games to know all of the old ones in my country are worse in every aspect, that's why I plan on buying from the PS2 back all from the US.

i didn't know about that nsun 5, and now i wonder what version did i ended playing growing up, because i played it a ton, and never noticed something like that, so i wonder if i played a japanese patched version or what (yeah i played a pirated copy, i live in a third world countrhy so buying new original games when i was a kid wasn't an option)

I looooved Ultimate Ninja 4, the atmosphere felt amazing in the exploration segments before getting to the main story, at the time but for sure does not hold up to current day standards. The music was amazing for a PS2 title.

i always think how funny was that i live in a small city in Brazil and the version that everyone in the city got and played was the japanese one , it was hard to understand what we needed to do but eventualy we figured out and was the best game ever to play with friends

If there is one game that I would like for you to review is the Naruto SD Powerful Shippuden on the 3DS. The game puts both Naruto and Rock Lee in the center stage but I bet that not many people heard of the game itself.

what are you talking about i was playing NSUN5 in English and it wasn't slow and other things you said... the cut scenes,ultimates jutsu,combos,Story and everything was on point....

Back in the day when we had like 30-40 episodes of Shippuden and CC2 loved to throw that yearly Ultimate Ninja, still bought all on day 1. Still, my favorite is 3.

Actually the combat system is not that mashy, I recently found out that the game has cancel mechanics and they really help on hard difficulties since CPU also uses them

I think the reason the ultimate ninja 5 ran like that because you emulated it. I went ahead and played a few matches on actual ps2 hardware it wasn't sluggish or anything But when i emulated with the same save file and same version at 720p in pcsx2 it ran around 15% slower . I think emulation might be slow not the game itself

Naruto Ultimate Ninja- Most Nostalgic Naruto Ultimate Ninja 2- Best Music Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3- Best Gameplay Naruto Ultimate Ninja 4-Best Free roam Naruto Ultimate Ninja 5- Best missions EDIT: The “mashy” gameplay is still unique to this day and this series can be very competitive you just have to play with the right people :) nice video

Narutimate Accel 1 and 2 are very solid Naruto fighters. Some of the best entries in the Narutimate series along with Narutimate Hero 3. I loved how you could do multiple Ougi/Ultimate Jutsu by doing specific conditions. You need to think differently when playing these Naruto fighters as you can't just try to combo your opponent, you have to outsmart your opponent by using the various mechanics that have been perfected by this point. CC2 definitely know how to make kick ass cuts cutscenes that bring the manga/anime to life. I'll admit though it was bs that they stopped at like the mid point in the Rescue Gaara arc in NA1/UN4 (kinda the same problem that Naruto Shippuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX1 had), though NA2/UN5 made up for it. If you are serious in playing NA2 nowadays, play the JP version. The European version has been shown to have various attacks miss or changed entirely that shouldn't in the Japanese version. I personally would rate the JP NA2 version tied to UNS4.

Ngl I didn't really mind it slowing down in the overworld, it's not like I noticed it anyway The giant roster is amazing and it's really fun to play on Free Battle, it's a shame that we must choose a linked character, and if we want to take them off, we should play the Free Battle on Story Mode, which has less options than the regular Free Battle The Reversal and Awakened system was great, but I still miss some Ultimate Jutsus from 3 (adding an option to Customize them would have been great) That is one of them few games I 999 the time on the Save/Loading screen lol I have bunch of memories from it, but I don't think that I would have the time today to appreciate it like I did back then I will always have a bunch of nostalgia and respect for this game

Cc2 has always struggled in the combat department and that makes me worried about the demon slayer game Edit: this video goes to prove my point even to this day they still struggle with combat

Un5 looked like a very good game when i was little, and it still looks like one, that's probably the nostalgia, but I'm not ever going to forget that game

My best memories with a naruto game is with U5. Oh those summer tournaments at my friends house.

I loved UN5, I played the JP version and brute forced my way...then waay later I got like a fanmade translation so I knew what they were saying and it ran good

I played my german copy of UN5 to 100% completion 2 years ago and it ran at (mostly) smooth 60fps and japanese VA only (thank god). In general, since 2003/04 a lot of games we got had 3 options: 50, 60 or Test 60. In rare cases it was doing it automatically like this game, UN4 and Final Fantasy since X-2. But thats my only gripe on the vid, amazing series so far!👍

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era will always have a special place in my heart and soul, these are the most unique Naruto games for me, only Storm 1 was coming close to these Masterpiece Naruto games, especially from gameplay features perspective, I don't know exactly why, but for me, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era are so nostalgic, unique and divine at the same time, I have so many memories during my childhood by playing these Unique Naruto games, Naruto games from PS2 Era was always very close to the anime itself because of the unique vibe and charm☯️ #Nostalgia #Childhood #Memories ☯️

the first time i played ultimate ninja 5 was actually in japanese, was named accel 2 if i'm not wrong, later i got a burned ninja 5 and played it again, last year a friend gave me an original copy of ninja 5 and the only one i'm missing right now are ninja 4 and uzumaki chronicles 2, it's a shame we EU got a "bad" port but honestly i don't mind that much, i had ton of fun back in the day, and even now when i play it sometimes with my cousins

Despite the mashy combat system, I enjoyed Ultimate 5 so much as a kid (always without using Assists, though). Luckily, I played the Japanese version back then, so I didn't have to deal with the 50fps bullshit. The cutscenes, the team Supers and the HUGE roster were just way too good for my 10-year-old brain.

The japanese version of UN4 had the story up until naruto came to Konoha and the whole save Gaara arc was in UN5 japanese version. Maybe they wanted to pad the story a bit more for the english release.

Anyone don’t mind the original Naruto stories in games like Ultimate Ninja 4 and Clash of Ninja Revolution 2. People keep complaining anime games tell the same story (and with the exception of the Storm games there does it well) but I feel like those two gave us unique stories and battles while keeping the characters consistent

For me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. ☯️✌ (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. I saw someone bring up how legal it is for you to be playing games on emulators. Arguing emulators are not legal. However, that is not the case emulators are very legal. It's literally in the name it's just a piece of software emulating how a console runs, no codes are ripped from the actual consoles. The parts that are not legal would be the BIOS and the Roms. This is somewhat of a gray area. Some people argue if you get the BIOS from your actual system and the Roms from your game then it's completely fine. Others feel it's still not legal, I'm not 100% sure as to why.

Globku, does the PAL vs NSTC applies to every game? Because I had a EU PS2 and I didn't notice a thing with terrible preformance with Kingdom Hearts 2 for example.

me, an european... i'm not offended. version of games differ, sometimes european is the best version (the last one with the last patch, lot of gamecube games let you select 50 or 60 Hz, even ps2, sadly not the ultimate ninjas), and i'm italian, so i prefer my native language normally. i played both japanese and european, and as a "kid" those days, i not noticed a big difference, just happy to play the game. now the fps are very bad, i still own the european copy, but i need to buy the japanese one for fluid multiplayer

Idk why I think you're getting the dates wrong. Both 4 and 5 came out in 2007 (I remember this since I got both of those games as a kid during that year). It's weird if 4 came out in 2009 since Storm 1 was released in 2008.

I've read in other places that UN4's Hero Mode is better than UN3. You say otherwise, why? I'm asking because I have UN4&5 and don't think I need to get UN3 since UN4 covers the same grounds storywise.
