Oh, I definitely agree. Miasma is pretty much the same thing over and over for five minutes, but Helvetesfönster is like a mixed bag of tunes, and I like that. It just has more feeling
It's so Scandinavian that my house turned into an Ikea, there's plates of Swedish meatballs everywhere and I'm covered in lingonberry jam...at least I hope it's lingonberries...
i will put it in a film i already have one story i been working on in mind its about the role of reapers angels and the god of death its called memento mori which in latin means remember death this song belongs at the begining and the end of the film because it starts at the dawn of time and jumps around through out history and then ends at the end of time and everything kinda comes full circle but i wont give too much away
YES YES YES I was just thinking "man I could listen to the end of helvetesfonster for hours" so I looked up to see if someone extended it and YES. Thank you king.
This just drips of pure classic Opeth. Mikael is a master of finding that one amazing riff then repeating it for minutes until it's forever in your brain.
😞 I have no words, I'm so sorry that had to happen. I unfortunately know that pain over and over. Their soul will be with you forever and you will see them again, definitely. I hope you have or will find another companion.
Reading this has broke my heart to think of you going through such a sad time. Perfect music for your puppy to have passed over to. They will be at rainbow bridge forever now xx
It's interesting how this piece creates different feelings and images in people's minds. For me, it sounds very sad. It makes me feel like my life is rather tragic and I can't change it. But then, at the same time, it's so comforting somehow.
It throws me back in the Middle Ages, in a small village where people are genuine and where I live with my loved one; we are watching the sunset together, hugging, knowing that that kind of happiness won’t last forever and enjoying every bit of the life we are given, finding comfort in that kind of sorrow…and suddenly it starts raining, and the rain falls gently over our heads, but we stay there, humming this haunting and lovely melody, sharing the few moments we are given before the bell tolls for us
I love this song so very much. Not sure why, but it conjures images for me of a beautful dark and snowy forest and being tempted by the devil. I see a lot of the old 80’s movie Legend when I hear it.
This song radiates the same vibe as the ending of Re:Zero episode 15. It's more than creepy, it's terrifying. Sorta like staring into the depths of the ocean, or having some leviathan creature stare at you with one big eye, or lying down bleeding out, knowing you're on Death's doorstep. Simply terrifying, and kinda beautiful at the same time
To me, today, this song passage is of resilience. Withstanding the storm. My son's father unalived himself two days ago. To me i can almost see him smiling again like he did when i first met him.
This is perfect. I was thinking about how I could listen to this all day and then I found this. It makes me feel like I'm exploring a dark snowy forest somewhere in Finland. So beautiful and calming
I love this song and especially this part. It's got a calming, soothing vibe and is perfect for wintertime. Those analog synths just give me goosebumps, sheer eargasm.
The theme of the album prequelle is based off the black plague. This segment of this song helps me imagine something Picture this: as this segment is playing, you’re in a forest of dead trees. No leaves at all. The ground covered in ash as the flakes gently fall around you from the skies as a result of the devastation this plague hath brought The skies are covered with dark gray clouds that even the sun cannot break through. Darkness overtakes the land as you’re filled with sadness and misery. The trail is lined with the bodies of corpses. Some reaching for the skies begging God to take their souls from the hellish agony they endured. Their last breaths were that of pain as God did not save them. They were taken into the depths of the abyss as they’re surrounded by the ashes that Hell brought upon the land. Their souls consumed by fire with their haunting screams muted by smoke. You can only imagine you will be next as you venture through the trail knowing that death awaits you. Your body weakens as you continue onwards hoping that there truly is salvation amongst the plague. Perhaps there truly is a path to healing from this horrible plague. You fear you may just be another soul lost forever to Satan’s grasp on Earth. The strength to walk, run, or even breath grows even weaker. Death must have come early. However, you see the silhouette of a gothic style cathedral at the end of the trail. Your body gains just enough strength to make it to the church. But is it enough? The bells of the cathedral ring. They grow louder as you get closer and gain more strength in your legs to finish the long walk through darkness and death. Reminded of the stench of rotting bodies and thick smoke and ash. The bells ring louder as you have made it to the last hope for salvation. But in your mind, it may just be a ruse. Your strength deteriorates once more as you entered the cathedral. It is empty and dark. The stain glass windows barely illuminate the pews and the altar. Your body collapses to a feeble crawl towards the altar. You make it to the altar. Your legs are gone. Your vision gets darker. The last thing you see is death itself waiting to take you away. Death speaks only one sentence to you. “This is the moment of just letting go” he said. It was time. Time to let go. One last ring of the bells was heard before darkness consumed you at last. You let go. The suffering has finally ended.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! To whomever did this!! The real song is fantastic, but the end part is pure bliss. I close me eyes and drift away to a more peaceful place when listeing to this part ❤❤❤
everytime i listen to this i can't stop thinking about the forest scenes from the princess mononoke. the movie and this song, both are too good to be true
I can see myself walking home through the pure white snow all illuminated by the moon and my headlamp, in the coat with real sheepskin trim at the collar, cuffs and hem, my feet snug in my all-weather boots and snow cleats, alone and at peace at the very end of a long, good day.
The whole song kinda gives me ballroom dancing vibes, specifically in the medieval era. Like joyful and fun for the first part, where a bunch of people are gathered to dance and have fun for the last time, and then this part, where a maiden slow dances with the love of her life alone in the ballroom together. This part feels bittersweet to me, with a hint of sadness about having to say goodbye, but also a sense of joy that they both have happy memories to look back on, and that they still have that moment together ...This probably made no sense, but ah well 😅
What is it what is the feeling I get from this part of the song called. It’s like a density in me stomach that happens whenever I’m really really interested in or passionate about something. This song makes me want to tap into the spiritual/mythological part of myself. It gives me a nostalgia for a time I haven’t lived in, around a few thousand years back. It gives me well needed inspiration for my artwork. It gives me everything I need😭
This is the feeling when you're aware that you're sleeping but at the same time you're being unconscious and now you're entering the foreign but familiar realm where you float around until you arrive in that safe spot only you know it exists in that place and when you basking in the comfort it provides your awareness reminds you that this would come to end and you have to wake up and say goodbye to that place until the time you close your eyes and hope you would land in that place again
I’ve been going through a rough move and adjustment, and even before this, this video was my go-to comfort sleep music or writing music. Thank you for making this. ❤️
@@maddyboombaddybaddy6532I'd recommend all of Opeth, but take these couple of examples. If you like any of them, look for the album they're part of: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-avQk0fInqaM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qxu1bku4wN0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bm5jm2joxuY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kfpnwk-DXrA.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-razzBeBLDG4.html By the way, this outro reminds me a lot of the ending of the Skyforger album by Amorphis (my all time favourite ending to an album). I'm talking about 2.50 onwards, but maybe you'll like the whole song (if so, listen to the whole album, it's a masterpiece): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vr6jA818c7A.html Also, I'm pretty sure you'd like some good post-rock and post-metal if you like this song's outro, here are a couple of examples: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_tQ15eKnT4w.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JzIK5FaC38w.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IQsXnldCDeU.html And there's a lot of classic prog rock there, too, but let's not make this list too long lol
This saves me the time of scrolling ahead to this incredible piece of music and then having to scroll back when it's over 🤙⚡️ Also this is.. preparing for a one way trip epic quest music
Everyone obsessed with this must most definitely check out the other works of the mastermind behind it. Mikael Akerfeldt, Opeth. Pale Communion and Still Life are the albums to start
