Led by Carrie Deacon and Daniel Farag from Nesta, the global innovation foundation which backs new ideas to tackle the big challenges of our time, from the pressures of an ageing population to stretched public services and a fast changing jobs market.
The session challenged insights and conversation around the challenges and opportunities for us to rethink and shift power in the face of serious illness.
Carrie and Daniel shared examples of recent experiences of supporting innovation in end of life through supporting growth of the 'Compassionate Neighbours' work, through 'People Powered Results' (a method to support front-line staff to collaborate and rapidly experiment with new ways of working that achieve real results for people and communities), and other emerging practice.
They also explored the innovation imperative, and the opportunities for hospices, health systems, communities and individuals to radically change end of life.
