Re: Unukalhai: The Ascians' original plan was to have Thordan turn into a primal of Light and consume the Warring Triad to empower him into a Calamity, which would have rejoined the First. But when we defeated Thordan, that went out the window, and the Triad were left perilously close to breaking out, which wouldn't cause the kind of disaster the Ascians needed, but might damage the Source (still fragile after the Seventh Calamity) irreversibly. So Elidibus sent Unukalhai to tie up the loose end of the Triad and bring the Source back to stability, so they could try for another Calamity at a time that better suited them.

When I first saw Cyella in Cystarium I didn't think much about her. Sure she looked like 1.0 elezen lady but eh, so do a lot of elezen ladies. But when I first saw her in the role quest I Knew she was the First's version of 1.0 gladiator gal. And I was SO HAPPY that she was finally being referenced, since when we meet the Warriors of Darkness in HW she wasn't there. So. I spent all the role quests chomping at the bit about her and wanting my wold to notice how identical in looks and near identical name she is to the bartender gal. If I had been in the livestream chat, I Might have been one of those LOOK GUYS. Not because of the spoilers but because damnit I want people to recognize the 1.0 trailer more often. Hahaha

Unukalhai was saved by Elidibus because his station in the Convocation demanded "reconciliation." In this case, it meant he had to save who he could from the 13th before it became the Void we know. It just so happens that he plopped Cylva/Cyella in Norvrandt to prep for the Calamity of Light, but headcanon: He gave Unukalhai to Urianger while he was acting like he was with them, and he only introduced him to us when the Warring Triad became relevant.
