The End Times of HOI4 are here...
There will be cheating, there will be rule breaking and there will be people throwing the game on purpose so the enemy wins. Not to mention people deleting their troops! It's honestly the most chaotic HOI4 experience you will witness.
As you have noticed, the HOI4 Multiplayer games have been quite questionable the last few videos. For some reason stuff just isn't going right for some good content and Tommy hasn't been playing majors as much. Well now that will change! Tommy is on USA again! And the game will be perfect! Right? Right?
Well you see this game might be the worst HOI4 MP game ever honestly, definitely the worst game of 2021. Honestly the End Times of Hearts of Iron 4 are here. The Armageddon has come, the Ruination is here and the Calamity is certain. It's going to be chaotic and it's going to be bad. So come and join us in this beautiful game!
Also some very serious ISP (+Bokoen) drama in the intro. This is getting out of hand, stuff is getting too real...
And no, Tommy is not gonna stop playing HOI4 cause of this, it's just supposed to look dramatic cause "The End Times" which is a Warhammer event (shoutout to the Warhammer lads in the comments).

Reason I left HOI4 online was just due to people exploiting the system/mods. Deleting units when they still have a chance. Throwing the game on purpose. Then spitting dummies out after it all. I honestly love watching TommyKay, sadly cannot afford to subscribe to his twitch for both income but I always will miss his streams sadly due to work. But man needs a break from it, community and the toxic aftermath. I'd highly recommend finding something competitive but more relaxed, so we can see the Ginger German Nugget laugh more during gameplay.

Yeah, I also left HOI4 because of the recent toxicity in the community. In a Historical Game before as France before with 30~ people I civil warred myself into communist and won the war, then when I got a justification I released all nations I could and switched over to Aquitaine(first and last time I trolled an MP game), and this was probs the most shitty thing a person could do at the time, and now 3 years later we have people mass deleting frontlines, neo-nazis FOW cheating, encircling capitals, etc etc... It baffles me to think that so many people like to ruin such a good game's MP and how they dont even feel guilty about it.

@@LoliPolice-bf7mw It's honestly worse when you have a History degree, playing a Historical competitive game and I'm seeing Germany bring the Kaiser, UK have a King and gank France and USA etc (Would not mind if it was competitive). But even just non Historical competitive I've seen people who just had to focus, min max and yet could not be bothered and threw for everyone. Now I force myself in single player or play with my 5 main friends. Shame really.

At this point, it is just time to wait for HOI5 and VIC3 and hope for good MPs in them... If not I am afraid that the community may never be recovered to it's original strength.

It happens a lot of streamers and RU-vidrs. Their viewers only watch a specific game so they're forced into playing a game they don't like to keep their channels alive. AlexTheRambler is a good example. Poor guy clearly hates HOI4 at this stage and visibly doesn't care while playing it but he gets absolutely fuck all views for any other game.

So if one of your videos doesn't do well with your subs not only does that affect the amount that video is pushed with the current algorithm it also affects your future recommendation too. So trying to break out of a specific game can actually severely hurt your channel It's why ISP made a whole new channel where he doesn't play HOI4 so that he could try and grow it without damaging his main channel in the algorithm. And it worked for him to be fair We all like to mock and ridicule streamers and RU-vidrs but at the end of the day they have bills to pay like the rest of us which means they have to play what brings in the views. Simple as

Hey, as someone who is in that side the community (Only single player and small group multiplayer) I can say that what little experience I do have with public mp is just as bad, the multiplayer community consists of the most ultra competitive and therefore toxic players. Most hoi4 players are part of the single player silent majority that mostly does its own thing and the hoi4 subreddit, as well as the type of hoi4 content that does well on RU-vid, shows it.

Bos games aren’t closed, not anymore, they are super competitive to the point where they delay the game by 30 minutes to find a Romania sub, where as in past videos (3 years ago) they didn’t wait that long for an ITALY sub. Many of Bo’s original pals like Vader, have moved on, and have been replaced by Dankus (a super meta oriented player). The difference between Bo and Tommy is that Bo’s content has never fully been about the gameplay, it’s been about the banter, Bo’s earlier videos were more akin to meme videos than gameplay, and even now they aren’t fully about the gameplay. If I had to guess, Tommy dosent have many close pals who play hoi4, otherwise we would see them in his videos

I think tommy needs a mate like markoni (but not markoni) who is there only to be hated by all as they enforce the rules unbiasedly. This is really sad to see the hoi community having come to this much disparity and toxicity. I’ve got over 2.5k hours myself but seeing this it just makes it really difficult to find the motivation to play random mp games again or even try to join in on the tommy games. Hope the community grows up a little and sees that they are slowly destroying that which they love. Respect to tommy for sticking through it all.

@crassgop In my opinion you have lots of ways to have enjoyable games as nearly every (semi-) independent entity, even as most releasable nations. Tags like Ryukyu or Hisn Kayfa (I hope that I spelled that one right lol) do need at least some amount of minmaxing - but that's only a fraction of the world. That's at least my opinion, and I only have 2k hours.

The only experience I’ve had with Hoi4 MP was a very small game I joined as the UK a while ago that had no rules or anything like that. Germany declared early and there was a very strong Japan in the east, so it seemed hopeless for us on the allies. But France and I just barely managed to hold out until the US came with its 40 width divisions and finished the game. I stayed up until 5 am during that game but it was worth every second. Now, idk if I even want to get back on Hoi4 multiplayer after seeing what happens during these games.

This is what moderators are for, need to hire someone to watch for rule breaking and ban them so you don’t have to do it the whole time. But they could always meet up in a different program than discord to talk without any of you knowing.

I get that the New dlc is going to be released soon but this is just sad, Tommy should play Without these Mods, they just ruin the game. I love Tommy's content but he should really revisit the mods he uses

Tommy, you say there will always be those people. Sure. But look at DDRJake. He runs with an iron fist and it carries through, people like that just don’t bother trying to do anything because they know it’s an instant ban and the other viewers enforce the rules too.

I wonder how Bokoen1 does his games, They seem pretty fun games to look at, and while some players are almost always in every game there are plenty of new players, even when the game seems over they atleast have some fun and maybe even succesfull comebacks, Or is it also for him a case off ''play 10 games, maybe 2 or 3 wont end up with memes & cheats that causes the game to be over in 1940''

Becouse most of them are his firends in videos if you see him saying a real name like golden or Bruan everytime and others then he know them very well but if he say Italy or some counrty name then he don’t know them he led his friends as major

If you cheat whilst playing on a Tommy game, you risk getting banned. If you cheat whilst playing a Bo game, you risk getting ostracized. It's easier to play with people you know and already like because of that.

2022 Tommy makes his own games with 20 players where he plays either as UK and teaches all who REALLY wanna learn the game . Or plays as Germany against all and gives tips like defend here, build this , make that etc . I would love to play with him teaching me how to get better and play the game properly (even though I sadly don't have a pc :/ ) But it's the new generation that comes to the gaming universe and they are and probably will be kids for a long time since they think it's "fun" ... Tommy you should build your own NEW TRUSTED community and you definitely need to be more harsh, just ban them without flinching.

My games is with mexico and despite beating USA I cant do the achievements of new home for the revolution and sunset invasion because germany took all the URSS. And now the axis are too powerful. Maybe do this in my game is a challenge for you

Hello, just a suggestion IDK if Tommy will see this but you could have a credit system where you will have an excel doc with the discord username and next to it you have two columns one is a good tally mark and the other is the # of games played. The way to earn a good tally mark is to play a game and not cheat, rage quit, or intentionally lose, etc. This way you can have games with requirements for people to have x number of good tally marks to join. From this, you will be able to have games with higher chances of it not being memey also you can see on the numbers if they are a good player or not ie if they meet the requirements for 3 good tally marks, but have played 20 games showing they might not be decent players just suggestion it will take quite a bit of effort to input and use, but with this even if the members create new accounts they won't be able to join games featuring Tommy or other high tally mark people. This way they would have to waste time to build up and reach the requirements increasing the chances for better quality games.
