The Ending BROKE Me! FIRST TIME WATCHING *Thor: Love and Thunder* | Movie Reaction 

I think this movie is underrated. It’s geeky and funny and sad but in the end everyone is in a good place. Christian Bale is quite scary as a villain and Russell Crowe is an epic Zeus.

Fun Fact: this is the first Thor movie where Loki does not make a physical appearance (but is mentioned on the back of Thor’s tattoos).

This movie was a pleasant surprise to me.

I think most people who dislike this movie do not realize the narrative framework of it: Korg is telling a story to a bunch of children. And that explains all the extremely quirky parts of it and makes them fit. Without those quirky parts, it would not be a story by Korg for children.

I thought the cancer parts in this movie were done particularly well. As a guy its gets me tearing up as well. Although that's also because it reminds of my mother.

Its absolute madness how some people feel they are appointed to comment their disdain for the movie and actually expect that they get to insist someone else MUST feel the same way about the movie as them. Just sad, and ultimately insecure.

I am starting to see the polarization of responses to MCU movies as a good thing. It shows a willingness to take chances. Some people don’t appreciate them. But others do. I’m not offended by the existence of things i don’t like. Deadpool 2 comes to mind. A lot. I thought it was just the Vanessa thing but, no… I felt like I was being mocked as a fan even more than some folks did watching THIS movie. I’d go for Domino without Deadpool, though. Her power could be fun. And I freaking LOVED The Eternals, as did both of my adult children. We’re all history and mythology nerds, so… when the source of the myth of Mercury/Hermes is a thief, it tickles that part of us. As did the sight of Babylon. Secret Invasion was weird. Some great acting and even great dialogue in parts. But in general it was hash. Just a dog’s breakfast of a show. The rest of the shows vary quite a bit, with a little bit for everyone. Loki just ended with (ahem) Glorious purpose. And one of my least favorites is Civil War. Great action, but the narrative is goofy and challenges my suspension of disbelief even more than superheroes do. They really should have consulted a lawyer for the Accords… just saying. Anyway… mileage varies. And that’s awesome.

I went to see this in the theatre when it came out and felt a little confused at first, the goofiness and quirkiness was amped up and then it'd be so serious again. But every rewatch makes me appreciate it more, both bits ARE more effective like this! Probably my second favorite Thor movie, glad you enjoyed it!

Liala, i saw the character of Eternity in the Silver Surfer cartoon from the 90s, i saw that it is on Disney plus, they have almost all the marvel movies and tv shows, but not all of them, i didn't see the 1967 Fantastic Four cartoon on there, which i like , or the tv show, Cloak and Dagger, or the 1995 Xmen movie, Generation X , or the 1998 movie, Nick Fury : Agent of Shield, some of these are on youtube, and the 1978 Dr Strange movie or the 1980 Spiderman movie

i'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in these comments but icymi, Love is portrayed by Hemsworth's irl daughter India Rose. Portman, Bale, and Waititi's children also appear in the movie as the children of new asgard.

Loki saves the MCU a bit. I hear ya on the rest dragging you down. Loki season 2 sets up the next phase so you have to watch it understand the future movies.

If the shows aren't enjoyable for you that's fine not everyone is going to like everything but do yourself a favor if you liked season 1 of Loki don't miss out on season 2.

The girl playing "Love" is Chris Hemsworth's daughter - that is why they have such a fun chemistry. Also Chris' sons make an appearance playing the young Thor in the beginning. The film is hurt a little by cutting out scenes of Gorr actually god-slaying.

I'm definitely okay with not seeing the series on here, maybe instead of reacting to them, once you finish them on your own time you just upload a review of the series.

I loved this movie once I realized it was probably a retelling from Korgs perspective, so that would explain the silliness.

The goats are straight out of Thor mythology. Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr are thor's goats.

Your reaction to the goats matched mine. My friends were like “Haha so funny!” And I was like “is this joke gonna drag through the entire movie?”

You are not alone with feeling fatigue over recent MCU projects. Always great to see my favorite UK reactor! 🏆 I'm not sure if you recognized Russell Crowe as Zeus. The part with Jane was very sad!😭 Great reactions to this unusual Thor film, Liala!!!🎬👏👏👏👏 The film was kind of all over the place with comedy, darkness, and sadness. It seemed to have struggled knowing what kind of film it was.

I really liked L&T, but not as much as Ragnarok. As funny as the god realm is, I would have cut it for more scenes with Bale or Portman. I haven't seen an MCU since, but mainly because I have no interest in the hours of shows that set them up 😅 Disney lost me when they started making sprawling shows that tie everything together. If I wanted to consume that much content, I'd just read the comics.

For me, Love and Thunder was basically a better Ragnarok in every way. The story is better, the character development is better, the action and visuals are better, the villain is better, the humor is a lot more balanced, it has underlying themes that actually have something to say. It's not perfect. The screaming goats do get old very quick and I would've liked a bit more screen time with Gorr, but it's by far one of the most underrated MCU films and easily my favorite of the Thor movies. Idgaf what anyone says.

Next Marvel series to watch is Loki Season 2 , it's great

I liked the goats. The goat scream has been my text notification sound for like a decade. Movie was overall a mixed bag though. I like Guns N Roses, but why did it need so much of them and Heimdal's kid changing his name to Axl? It was like they had a new album coming out and it was just product placement for them. Christian Bale was creepy and great and Taika Watiti did his usual heartfelt goodness, but it just felt too goofy.

You need to watch Loki !!! Hands down best thing Disney plus has ever put out and sets up the new chapter of the multiverse and what not but dang season 2 was amaze balls !!!

They could easily have not killed Jane, and let her take over as Thor. Less jokes too.

In the german religion Thor rode in cart pulled by two goats. MCU died with the Loi series. The production used that to laugh at fans who cared about the characters. Sure, they are pieces of celluloid moved around by writers. But the series made that obvious to laugh at fans for falling for it.

Yes the Goats are in the comics but the Jane Foster/Might Thor is too lovely reaction Liala your right about the TV series of the MCU.

That one could and should have been skipped, same for Dr Strange Madness, Captain Marvel, Loki, Miss Marvel, The Marvels, and other movies/shows that gladly doesn't come to mind right now.

My favorite funny moment was Thor dissing Gorr’s dental work. I had a feeling that the title Love and Thunder had a deeper meaning, but I didn’t expect it to be nicknames for Thor and his new daughter. A decade ago I never imagined they would implement the screaming goat meme into a comic book film, but here we are. They don't mention their names out loud, but they're called Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder. The New Asgard tour guide is Darryl Jacobson. He appeared in the Team Thor One-Shots and starred in his own short titled Team Darryl. Gorr's daughter Love was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter India Rose. In fact, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, and Taika Waititi had their kids join as some of New Asgard's children. Not only that, the kids who were brought to set were asked to draw monsters on paper. Then those drawings were submitted to the visual development team to create the shadow monsters that we see in the final film. The idea started when Taika’s daughter drew a monster and showed it to her dad, and that was in the early stages of development. They had yet to start filming at the time. Imagine if the Guardians knew about Eternity. If they stuck around long enough, either Nebula or Peter would have wished to revive Gamora whereas Drax would bring back his wife and daughter. I didn't expect for them to be around for much of the movie, but when I saw it in theaters for the first time I was hoping to at least get a teaser about where they're headed next. At least the wait is almost over. All you have to do is power through She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Werewolf by Night. If you maintain a good pace, chances are you’ll be watching the Guardians’ Holiday Special in time for the year-end holidays next month.

I didn't like Ragnarock like other people did so I didn't care for this one since it was just more Ragnarock. My biggest issue was how lots of dramatic scenes were cut with a joke. The goats that ran though the whole movie, and when Jane tell Thor she has cancer. I did do a rewatch of Iron Man to Endgame and I did appreciate Ragnarock more the second time and maybe I'll enjoy this one on another viewing. Also yeah Marvel has been releasing a lot of content post Endgame and not all of it is of the quality we'd expect. They're overextending and it shows. They have cut back their releases recently but that's because of outside influences such as people leaving and the dual strikes. With people complaining about the quality and the box office not being as strong, they're trying to restructure and refocus to making tighter films and shows. Next year only one Marvel movie will be released since they pushed back a lot of stuff and that's Deadpool 3.
