I thought the season was very good, and the ending was excellent. Celeste's dignity and courage was inspiring, very well portrayed. Well done everyone.
In the book, the story ends when Bonnie turns herself in and gets something like 300 hrs of community service for manslaughter (being that in the book Perry dies a much more probable 'accidental' death) and in short they all live happily ever after
I had been quite impressed with the performance of Reese Witherspoon during the whole episodes. But ultimately was stunned with outstanding performance of Nicole Kidman at the last episode(s). All the actors played well.
I think Bonnie lied to Nathan because she was ready to go confess to killing Perry. She probably figured that she'd wind up in jail for a long time and that he's too good to be tied up with a wife in jail. So, why not break his heart before she goes away? Methinks this is going to force a third season. There's not a true sense of closure.
Ticamo77 But Bonnie also basically said to her mom that she resented her for the abuse and that it made her settle for a man she didn’t love. Why say that if she actually did love Nathan?
@@brittanymoore7834 Because, it was vile enough to make him hate her as much as she was hating herself. Maybe she felt felt unworthy of a great guy like Nathan that she thought she'd turn him into her father, who was also vicimized by her mother?
Yes... My thought exactly. She's probably pushing him away. Before turning herself in & having to telling him. I was like either that or she doesn't want to make him have to wait on her
The first season was very good , but season 2 was very disappointed because it has pretty much similar to season 8 of desperate housewifes also every story that they started they not properly ended.
To me, there was NO worse ending to a series than HBO's The Soprano although Showtime's Dexter had a pretty bad ending. I loved HBO's Six Feet Under' s ending...it had great closure!
BTW, I thought Big Little Lie's season finale had good closure although I wish it had the response of the police after their confessions. They probably got probation or community service. Bonnie did kill in defense of Celeste's spousal abuse...justified!
Satisfying ending my ass!! It was awful and left us not knowing what happened. Am I the only one that HATED it??? Seriously. I swear these writers were trying to piss off the audience!!!
For me Nicole Kidman at Shailey Woodley is outstanding in season 2. And really hate Reese aka Madeline for acting such a victim when Ed found out her affair with Joseph. Ed should have left her and just support her only daughter. Me i can't trust a person like that! She might do it again?.
Terrible season 2. I didn't like it at all. It doesn't look like the same show (or the same characters) and the story doesn't make sense with the last season. Great actors, that's the best part for sure.
@@doloreslily6627 Yeah, it doesn't. At the end of the season 1 Jane is dating the waiter and in the second that is ignored completely. Renata's husband is a good rational faithful man in the first season and in the second he's an evil crazy selfish cheater... kinda weird anyways... and Bonnie sees Celeste nervous while her husband looks calm and happy after arguing with her and she starts following them when they leave because she recognises that scene (like she has been there before, otherwise she wouldn't have understood what happened, like nobody else does) but in season 2 they explain she was mistreated by her mother... which doesn't make sense because that scene couldn't have happened with her mother... and that's only to start... there is more. It's a terrible crazy season that should have never happened.
@@TheLaSirenaVarada not sure what man you were imaging but Renata’s husband was literally a total creep in season 1. When Bonnie was over at Renata’s house for Amabella’s birthday party he is clearly seen leading at Bonnie.
@@savannahgomez404 I just didn't see that, I think that is just your point of view, but thanks for proving that you can literally change a whole story and there will still be fans who will defend it, even if it doesn't make any sense at all...
@@TheLaSirenaVarada i didn’t have to change anything, it’s literally in the script as part of the plot. Are you seriously trying to change what the writers of the show created? Don’t be dense 🙄
Plot twist. What LONNIE broke with up her man bc she planned on turning herself in. She was probably thinking worst case scenario. Probably going to jail & doesn't want to make him wait. 🤦 Idk may be is scared having to tell him. 🙊 Either way it could be a plot twist having to do w/her turning herself in. I feel like the show could still run another season. Maybe even 2. Season 2 had so many jaw dropper scenes. Ugh I want more of Big Little Lies!!! 😵
It's pretty obvious what happened at the end. They went to confess. End of the lie. Wasn't a great show for me though, not a patch on S1. Except for Renata, who was class & should've been in it much more.
I read this comment somewhere else, but its so on point it bears repeating. At the end Celeste turned from being Celeste and into “Nicole Kidman the actress.” And Celeste’s children videotaped the abuse unbeknownst to her?? Wow, maybe she does deserve losing custody. Those poor kids are probably screwed up for life now!
So glad we had this season with all the unsolved mysteries revealed but I am thirsty for another to know all the rest. Police station etc. Reese and Nicole are very famous and are extremely busy but I’m glad they were cast in this dramatic show.
I think the whole idea behind it was that kids perceive a lot more than you think. Not sure what you mean by “Nicole the actress”... but She thought she was hiding all the abuse well. Celeste was a very successful lawyer before she met Perry.. that confidence was always in her..
@@thoughtdistortedif she was that good of a lawyer she wouldn’t have even considered representing herself. Mixing this childish David E Kelly trope with the near invention of an entire character + storyline because Maryl Streep called is more effective than pure ipecac.
So sad how different this is from the book.... the Bonie from the book is nothing like the Bonie from the series. There was little mention of Perrys mother in the book, other than in the ens taking care of Celeste through her grief. Perry did NOT die the way he died on this series.... truly disappointing if you truly are a reader who appreciates the detail the book brings and little resemblence to how the series is :(
