Dragon Ball (Japanese: ドラゴンボール, Hepburn: Doragon Bōru) is a Japanese media franchise created by Akira Toriyama in 1984. Simply, I’ve been in the mind of this for awhile but IMO dragonball needs a definitive end. They have no real vision for the writing beyond creating new merch, it’s just sad to see. Broly, Beerus, U6, they have a million directions to take the show that’s actually interesting and they miss every time. It’s better they do one last arc and just end the series. I mean surpassing UI already just seems inane outside of maybe stacking kaioken. Edit: also I got to hard disagree with the UI slander. Yea the design is simple but it’s based on essentially perfected martial arts, not just dodging. Essentially fighting as efficiently and fluidly as possible without anything clouding it (granted him getting angry in that form is stupid but I digress). Main problems I see with it are just like you said, there’s no way up that doesn’t make the form look like ass and the new developments with the form are writing in circles. How you going to eliminate emotion to fight as clearly as possible…then add emotion back in that’s beyond dumb. But I agree Ultra Ego is actually brain dead.

I just want Dragonball to end. It's writing is never going to of heart like it used to when Akira was writing it. The character regressions have pissed me off long enough among other things. No amount of good animation will change my mind unless the writing becomes 100 times better and not WORSE than GT in spades. Why the FUCK did we lose a Vegeta who PROPOSES FUSION and all around cool with Goku....for this shit in Super. "Oh my Pride" fuck off with that. Give me reasonable developed Vegeta. Give me BACK badass and wise Goku.

most people don't know this but super has a different dbz than what we saw its a alternate timeline and originally gt was the og ending to z not super so really super's past could have been different then what we saw meaning the character regressions which was not a character regression and just a character staying the same

bro, how is gt not connected to end of z? It is then referenced multiple times, and it's been confirmed multiple times that gt is what takes place after z not super and super its a continuation of z it's a different timeline of what happens after majin buu we haven't reached the end of z era yet it might be the current cannon timeline but it ain't the right timeline

It is criminal that he downplayed UI, but how does this form or ssj4 make anymore sense than the other? Both equally makes sense as a form for goku, since ssj4 represents his saiyan heritage, while UI represents his progression as a martial artist. Both of these forms equally make sense as they both tie to who goku is, a saiyan who is from Earth, the place where he became a martial artist. Ain’t more or less.

@@LimitedEyeSSJ4 was literally an asspull. They had to pull Goku’s tail which contradicts his tail being fully removed. Vegeta had to achieve SSJ4 with no effort which goes against his character. At least Vegeta trained to achieve Ultra Ego.

I assume it was because Dragon ball technically ended a while back after the buu arc and Toei thought "Hmm, We could squeeze in a few more chapters, why not." It never felt like they were invested in dragon ball like they used to be.

Yes, Vegeta did say all that, but somehow, you forgot about the fact that Vegeta literally says to himself, apologizing to Beerus that he couldn't be the man he was before showing and pushing even more how much Vegeta has changed as a character but you just didn't point that out? Plus, I already heavily disagreed on everything you said about Ultra Instinct, but boiling it down to just "Goku with grey hair" is incredibly disingenuous considering how much it fits for Goku as a character case in point L critiques for the DBS Manga portion in general

Throughout the anime and Manga UI has been constantly foreshadowed( ex: Whis' training, Goku dodging Bulma, hell, roshi in manga TOP, hell if you really wanna go far back, since toriyama up to his death was the one writing, original db with his training on the lookout with popo, and many other examples from all his teachers) throughout all of db. they even go in depth on how he should master the form in his own way, how to truly master UI, and stay calm in that face of intense anger to access MUI(with Merus' death). if anything I think you just completely misunderstood Ultra Instinct from a story perspective, and used it to complain about Toei, which I mean Toei sucks, but that's unfair on Toriyama and Toyataru and their writing capabilities. If you do not like UI, that is completely fine and even fair; However, calling UI contrived and just silver hair go brr or some shi, is completely disingenuous. In fact, with your point on how "mastery of self movement wasn't something he could already do" just points out your lack of ability to read within context clues of fiction. IF GOKU COULD DO IT, HOW COME HE HASNT DONE IN THE PAST? because he couldn't. I disagree with ultra instinct it was in the works for like half the series whis said it himself. Plus ultra instinct is not just dodging automatically the reason he can do ultra instinct in the first place is because he is a good fighter. Even in the manga roshi uses a water down ultra instinct. Him using that proves ultra instinct is not a transformation it's a technique the only reason goku transforms is because he is a sayian.

But I want the anime to return since it’s 2 arcs behind and I want it to do the same arcs we’ve already seen!” People got some strange double standards. And with the ultra instinct thing, I like it since it’s supposed to be a representation of Goku’s journey, a combination of all of Goku’s teachers teachings. See how it’s got some cool lore to it? But no it just gets relegated to “dodge good!” And “Made to sale!” With ssj4, I can make the same argument that it was made just for sales. You can make that argument about a lot of things in Super, GT, Z, and OG dragon ball. And what do you mean Gas was the final antagonist in the manga??? I guess you just skipped… Oh, I don’t know… FRIEZA?!?!?!

Not enough dragon ball fans point this stuff out, though i rardly interact with them anymore either 😂 Didnt have a single disagreement Alot of dragon ball ive just kinda outgrown cause it's only regressed since the eoz. Think it should end proper, but ik that's not gonna happen. Gonna be like star wars, halo, or w/e other series that just refuses to die, the longer it goes on the worse the series as a whole gets. Best to stick to the stuff you like & tune out the dilluted new stuff. For me, thatd be up to gt & maybe the dbs broly movie. It was cool to have new dragon ball content airing again, much as i dont fw super in hindsight. Way i see it gt was the closest thing to a real conclusion dragon ball got & even it was middling, if people would rather it (the series) shamble along forever 🤷‍♂️ rip

I completely disagree with the second half of the vid and let me explain why: 1.Ultra Instinct was actually foreshadowed at the beginning of super and is basically a representation of his masters teachings. 2.Goku giving the Senzu Bean is literally just testing Moro as a character if he’s actually willing to give up cuz he knew damn well that Moro doesn’t stand a chance against him.Goku knew damn well,this would end up either way bad for moro. 3.Beast Gohan does actually makes sense cuz it’s literally the evolved state of the ultimate form.Basically the ssj2 of ultimate.It was literally explained by Toriyama.Back in the Buu arc,there was an explanation by the old Kai that gohan should transform in his ultimate state like he’s goin ssj.

Not so completely shut you down, but counter points 1. UI was never implied to be a form from the moment it was mentioned and implied to just be a technique as Whis never has to transform to use the ability. Even in the anime when it hints to UI in the BOG arc it happens while Goku is ssj 3 and has no access to God ki further implying it wasn't meant to be a form or necessary directly tied to God KI or the God Forms 2. Even if Goku knew he was stronger, he knows the galactic patrol isn't so taking him back to jail is just dumb at this point. Not saying that Goku killing him was the right thing but I see even less sense in him just willing going back to jail and never attempting a break out again. The point of him letting his villians go is so they have the chance to change where as Goku literally just gave him the option to basically rot in jail, I would have rather Goku trying to just let him go or using an ability to seal away or split him apart because atleast if the goal is contain him then make in an effective containment 3. Yeah but the problem isn't is didn't make sense but it just kind of comes out of nowhere and really hasn't done too much. Yeah he beat cell max but who was wanting Cell Max?

Ui is both.Its just for Goku also a form because he’s a saiyan.saiyans evolve in full states like ssj,ssj2 and so on.Just like by Vegeta with Ultra Ego.They‘re currently learning to use those techniques without transforming on a full completed state. 2.Moro wasn‘t gonna go anywhere.It was for him either dying sooner or later.Goku was basically giving Moro a chance of natural death instead of just straight up murder him.And Goku literally knew he was stronger,it is literally implied or even shown in the manga even after Moro absorbed Merus abilities. 3. We all know Gohans Potential,one rage boost and it is literally over for everybody.Gohan is in a point of life were he doesn’t even need that much training to get stronger.Thanks to his Ultimate Form,his potential is getting more boosted,everytime he transforms into it.Gohan is basically a power house and has always been.

@@visualsaep148 I get 1 and 3 but 2. Like you explained the scenario but the problem is the scenario really doesn't have a point for Goku other than for him to stall into Moro getting his arm back. Like he isn't really testing Moro's character cause he never really gets and option, he can either die now or die later. If he gave him the chance to go free like Frieza in the Namek saga then I could see there being a legitimate test. The other part is the talk Goku give him which is just pointless too and if he really want to talk to him about that it should have been when he was back in jail if he got there. All Goku says to him is how he could have been a better person and then repeats the question of if he will willing go back to jail, which is just pointless as he has just shown he is unwilling to go easily. TL:DR 2. My problem is Goku has no reason to talk to Moro or to test his character since he is just going to have him rot and die or just kill him if he doesn't comply.

@@ragingblast2737 You missed the point completely Goku is not testing Moro What’s happening is Goku is giving Moro the choice of whether he submits and reforms or he dies right then and there Goku in the scene is literally like a wall that Moro cannot breakthrough It’s even shown in the scene where Moro breaks his hand against Goku’s chest This scene is literally explained with the little flashback panel of Goku and Meerus training Meerus ask Goku verbatim “why he lets villains go instead of just outright killing them It’s all explained and shown in the arc itself so you doing all these mental gymnastics looking for a explanation when it’s right in front of your face is weird to me

Old Kai maxed out Gohan in the Buu saga. That was as strong as he was going to get. DB Super is a different continuity and not canon to DBZ. The creators of Super decided to nerf Gohan and come up with new crap for him to achieve.
