Some people are so nasty with their comments here, Janet was the main target, because she was an adolescent, confused and troubled. Negative energies target young adolescents or pubescent children because 1: they are easily manipulated. 2: their emotions are imbalanced. and 3: negative energies will reside where emotional traumas are at a high, they then target the most vulnerable or the easiest to manipulate to make matters worse. They do it because they can draw lots of energy from the family who is going through a lot of emotional trauma. Negative energy attracts negative energy, and if the energy is enough, they can use it to move things around. Spirits no longer have a physical body to pick things up with, it's all done by manipulating energy, and some are better at manipulating energy than others.
I've been researching ghosts and poltergeist activity for decades. There is no evidence of any "spirit" or "negative energies" being associated with poltergeist activity. Those are pre-conceived, religiously-based, ideas that some (but certainly not most) people attribute to the activity. In all the properly documented cases, the movements of objects seems to be unconsciously caused by the person at the centre of the activity. The suggestive evidence is that energy from people, mostly girls of pubescent age, is somehow moving objects. That has been hypothesised as being an evolutionary trait that humans may develop further in many generations from now.
I know this case very well. I worked for the family of the immediate neighbours at Green Street. the family at No 284 were poor, and a little bit slow witted. It was all very murky, but very real. Interestingly, there are a lot of ghost stories about that road. At the bottom is Celedon Close. Flats and houses fill it, and I knew a guy who woke in one of the houses one night to be met by the ghost of a child who asked him 'where's my mummy?' and at the top of Green Street, on Hertford road is a church with a lot of soldiers who came home from WW1 and ended up in it. The ghost of a young man in uniform has been seen there. Its a freaky scene, baby....
Slow witted 😂 I don’t wanna sound mean but that’s exactly the way I’d describe them but couldn’t find the right words to say it without sounding harsh 💀
@@nickoffury Yeah, they were poor and, well, a little bit dim witted. Nice people, but I am sure you get the point. Janet was the centre of it all. The old man next door, who's grandsons worked with me, his name was Alf, and he was like a grandfather to Janet and the others. She was really attached to him. He died shortly before all the spooky stuff started, and when the voices and graffiti started to appear, the entity responsible claimed and scribbled ''my name is Alf!'' Janet could not let him go......
Yes, these things are rarely limited to one building. It may be natural energies that trigger them off but at the moment we don't know enough about it.
I knew one of the Hodgson boys at a school I worked at and he used to come to school and tell us what used to go on at he's house. Bless him he passed away age 14.
I always remember living at home when i wad about 17 i could hear doors opening and closing downstairs at night time when there was no one downstairs. This went on everynight i told my Mam and Dad and my Dad also confirmed that he could hear them too. There was a a strange atmosphere in the house when i was about 17,18 yrs with many other happens too.
The first day it started a female police officer was at the house, she witnessed a chair sliding across the floor, she said so in an interview soon after
@@chrisseed4643 If you watch the original documentary from the 70s you would see the police interviewed and telling what they witnessed Do your homework before offering your empty opinion.
In this video there is a photo that was taken of Janet's Uncle John Burcombe (1:01) who found Janet sound asleep on top of a radio set. If you look at that photo carefully, he has a very confused and worried look on his face and he has good reason to be. The night before that photo was taken, Janet was given a Valium injection by her doctor and placed in her bed. So here is my question to everyone *How did Janet end up on top of the radio set?* Although she was sleeping in the same room as her sister Margaret. Her sister wouldn't have the strength to place Janet on top of the radio set. I've been studying paranormal subjects for over 35 years and I'm not convinced that this case is fake, there maybe some parts of it which might be. But that photo and the back story behind it, not a chance in hell was that faked.
There's a considerable chance it was set up! 😂In fact I would say it's a certainty, as there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of psychic phenomena/poltergeist activity. We can't see what else was in the room, or whether the two of them moved other furniture for her to climb on, or whether a third person assisted to get her up there. It wouldn't have been at all difficult to stage such a photograph, and it's not evidence of anything. Honestly, the reporters and psychic investigators played right into their games, and dragged this out for much longer than needed.
I lived in a house with the spirit of a small blonde child. She was curious but not violent. Until you've been through it then you don't believe or understand it.
Exactly this ! I been through it twice in two different houses . One in 1983 for two years ….and then in 2012 for 6 years until church / bishop and others helped us
Spot on , thought all people who saw UFOs were nutters fishing one night i sa this massive triangle , blocked out the blanket of stars as it silently drifted over the sea - no cameras in them days ,as you say you HAVE TO SEE to even comprehend it
Agree. I grew up in a house where there were wierd happenings. Never saw anything but often heard someone coming up the stairs but there was no-one there. Over the years there were many strange occurrences, heard by other family members, and my friends. It wasn't a good feeling there, and if I was on my own there it was very scary. My mum and my siblings all knew it was a strange house but my dad refused to believe in any of it. He said he had never heard anything untoward. I don't think people should sneer at the paranormal unless they have experienced it. Having said that I have seen a TV film before about that property. It didn't really come to any definite conclusions as to whether those things really happened or whether it was a bit like the Frances and Elsie fairies at the bottom of the garden. I am keeping my mind open until it can be proven one way or the other.
I remember watching a picture lift up off its hook and drop to the floor, also the old tv when the stations weren't transmitting would have sounds like flipping radio stations, weird sounds and flashes of voices..
It's not one bit difficult. They're demons. You live in a 3 dimensional world. You can't perceive a 4th dimension apart from at certain angles. You can see 2 dimensions but if people were 2 dimensional they wouldn't be able to see us.
30yrs ago a young girl came to work at my place of work and she told me how she and her sister would find themselves shoved inside the shelves of their wardrobe by a poltergeist
@@GorlGangCommentsPondue ok pal. Believe what you want but there's no evidence anywhere in the world if ghosts etc. Just people claiming they have seen them. You carry on believing in ghosts. Each to there own.
@@chrisseed4643 Correct. Made up sh**e. Strange video cameras have been around for years and still no real evidence. I went to a spiritual medium Colin Fry (RIP) off the TV if you've ever heard of him for a private reading. Biggest pile of rubbish.
the thing I find the most interesting is that 30 East Drive is are normal council house that to look at you wouldn't know if you were just walking past proving it is not only big mansions and stately homes that have ghosts.
.sadly I have experienced poltergeist when I was little. :(......A trauma memory I will never forget. I'm 33 years old and I still think about it sometime to this day....ghost and poltergeist are indeed real. wish I have the evidence for it. you may be skeptic until you experience it yourself, believe me.... it was terrifying to see. seeing is believing.
Another interesting case with some good parallels is the Battersea poltergeist from the 50s/60s. Danny Robbins did a docu-drama podcast series for BBC Radio. I found it on Spotify, but it's also on the BBC Sounds app.
I'm a paranormal investigator , I have a small team of my own, this type of stuff is very real, n can be very scarey, Wen I used to live in Enfield. I'd walk past this house, but it would draw me in
Poltergeist activity is a real phenomenon, unfortunately most people will struggle to accept that unless/until they witness something directly & unequivocally themselves. I have, twice & I found it amazing, deeply fascinating & intriguing but still no answers on how/why...
...because everyone has cameras set up as standard in their homes just in case one day something strange & unexpected happens right? Funny enough, I'm sitting here right now going through my Panasonic Lumix GH2 (x2), GH4 & GH5 cameras, SD cards + one wireless CCTV camera to try to set up exactly that as I've not been back since the pot flew at my head in the kitchen, 24hrs after the jar opened, 4days after the speaker came on at 0300hrs, 5 days after the 1952 radiogram came on at 0237hrs, a few months after I came back to find bathroom items scattered on the floor, a month after a watering can shifted in the kitchen, around the time my girlfriend & I woke up together due to loud footsteps walking up to our settee startling us both & around 1.5yrs after the first event in a Screwfix of all places whereby an item shifted in two movements at a 90degree turn in front of me and the staff who were there at the time stated "oh yeah, we get stuff fly off the shelves in here all the time". I've lined you up perfectly now for your next comments which, as so obviously predictable will be pure ridicule & belittling statements as you've clearly not had any experiences (yet or maybe never) to make you question your narrow mind set as with many, I didn't believe until a series of these events made it impossible to dismiss them as purely known physical phenomena. Oh and guess what? ....I'm not even trying to state that these things are caused by anything other than unknown physics, dome phenomena we just don't understand and/or that they happen in such a randomised way that we couldn't ever fully study or research any of it. But.. Hahaa, here's another thing for you. Several years ago I was lucky enough to be film the SPR 40th International Annual Conference at the University of Leeds, a series of 28 lectures given by an array of academics, including NASA physicists, mathematicians, World leading psychologists etc all presenting their findings in attempts to prove or disprove the very existence of paranormal phenomena & I can tell you that even in the UK their are Universities that have ongoing funded research into a variety of these things as they DO happen, it's literally and simply a case of HOW & WHY.
I believe I saw I felt and got 7 photos of a full apparition of a human spectacle, felt a breeze and felt static, wasn’t scared just I was glued to this humanoid, it was like a hologram could not see where it was coming from on the floor, the only history I got was a young girl came back from a good night out and fell off a step in the side alley where there was an outside toilet, this happened in the 1960s,
If that was the case it would have been a 3 meter jump from the pillow end, yet her hair doesn't indicate that she's at speed. Nor does 1970s camera equipment pick up any blurring. Quite a compelling photo imo.
The Sauchie poltergeist hasn’t been spoken about much but actively took place outside of the home at the girls school and was witnessed by her teacher! Not just in the house!
honestly....try it....its really easy... all you need is a photo of you mid jumping off a bed and some massive teeth and anyone will believe you, even if in all the interviews you cant keep a straight face
@@dogsarentdangerous1195 Not at all, it was maybe the most thoroughly investigated poltergeist case ever. There were multiple witnesses and that included a policeman.
Yes agreed the two girls would have to be genious to fool so many proffessional people, over 14 months of fooling people cant see it they would have to be super intelligent clever to stage it all Cant see that to be honest Im a believer
Back in the day we had the Amityville horror as well….Ronald deFeo Jr..shot and killed six people in the house in Amityville Long Island…the Lutz family moved in and claimed similar paranormal events to Enfield…but years later their claims of all the activities in the house lead to numerous lawsuits and controversies about the truthfulness…there was a book and movie made on this story as well…🇦🇺🇦🇺
The Amityville Horror was largely based on sensationalism. Yes, I am sure there were unexplained happenings, but along comes an author - Jay Anson - and before you know it, someone else’s paranormal experience has been embellished for the sake of a book/film, etc.
You listen to good morning and they havent a clue. Police did go and there was an interview with the two officers. They dont seem to give evidence such a definate proof of two officers on tv. If they are going to do this do their homework. Typical bbc editing.
The scientific world has never really took any cases like this one hear seriously and regularly dismissed them as fake. Its only since modern day life saving tech has come around and reports of NDEs (Near Death Experiences) have gone through the roof that scientists are looking at this more seriously. They used to just dismiss cases of paranormal activity and only report them over halloween for fun. This used to annoy me because i firmly believe that there is something real about ghosts, the afterlife and poultergiest activity.
@@enigma7791 For some reason very few physical scientists want to confront (or even to think about) such phenomena, because they challenge their belief systems perhaps. Thank goodness there are now many excellent and objective investigators around who have no problems in investigating the weird stuff.
@@hobosgameplays6607 the thing that stumps is why arent there tonnes of these things? there are plenty more dead than living. you think they would be everywhere, with their own communitites and that.
Because she's still deeply traumatized by what happened to her, and people who accuse her of faking it have damaged her even more. Imagine the worst thing that's ever happened to you, and loads of strangers on the Internet telling you you're lying. I'd refuse interviews too.
I'm aware he was related to them but the story here is just a 13yr old child's version of events ! maybe Janet isn't here because she's already been paid in the past for appearing on this very same programme !
Hello, All I know ( from personal experience) that there are things in life which cannot be logically explained! Also, the older I get ( currently I am 71), I believe in things that defy the 5 senses! Elizabeth Clark Goodrich, Texas
Its mental that people are on live tv, actually being taken seriously whilst talking this nonsense. Its quite embarassing really. Every single picture of this young girl being "flung" across a room, just point blank is her jumping into the air. Ive seen footage of her talking about it from back then too, the sniggering, the overdoing it with swear words when she was giving her performance. Its just crap
The deep voices that came from Janet were of an old man that said he died in an armchair in the living room. She couldn't have made those voices as it would have destroyed her vocal chords.
Sorry but I personally reckon it's a load of codswallop made up for attention, I actually keep an open mind but after listening to the actual tapes don't think for one min an elderly man with children of his own(as in Bill Wilkinson) would ask questions like " Why do girls have periods" & "What's the plastic thing men use when there in bed with a woman".. These are questions a 12 year old girl would have, also to me the voice sounds very much like a child putting on the gruff voice(and can hear Janet in it) My son sue to put on a gruff voice sometimes messing about before his voice actually broke and it sounded very similar to me.
The photo looks like she’s jumping from the bed. She wasn’t ‘thrown out of her bed’ because her bedcovers are just gently turned back. The interviews where she’s doing ‘a voice from beyond’ is not remotely convincing since it’s not hard for anyone, even small children, to do a deep voice (ask Elizabeth Holmes).
Same with UFOs. Almost everyone on the planet now has a high definition camera and video recorder in their pocket. And yet we STILL never see convincing evidence of alien or supernatural phenomena. Odd that, isn't it. I'm sorry, the burden of proof must always rest with the believers.
Well I would have thought it a crock too, until objects (family photos, and ornaments) rearranged themselves in my mother’s house when I was out of the room (and no there was nobody there and I didn’t have an out of body experience 😅) !! Until something inexplicable happens to yourself it’s extremely easy to be a sceptic….🤷🏻♀️
The council being the council will even have and elderly lady in that 4 bedroom house or 16 polaks. Either way someone would of seen or heard something in 40 odd years.
Ten years ago: in April 2014 I invented another way of writing the date. Like today 4/6/6/2024. The first number means the day of the week. I was just 11 at the time.
@@juliethompson5301 have you ever seen any of the information about this other than jsut this video? have you seen the image..... she literally jumped from her bed and her mum took a photo mid jump... have you seen the interview with the girls.... they literally cant even lie convincingly in their initial interviews, its one of the most well known hoaxes that gets used in jokes about shit fake paranormal videos.... its well documented that these girls just made it all up
There is no documented evidence to say this case was a hoax, I would say it's inconclusive. These things really do happen but science recognises this and has come up with a rational explanation. In my case in Wales, the police were involved, a local priest and a medium, after we left in 1978 reports continued about a haunting there.
Oh Lord , it must be a very slow news day , people can believe anything they like and literally bring it into reality if enough fools back them up , I live in a house in a lovely peaceful village which according to locals was deemed cursed because the Original Lady Owner chucked herself in the River because some man jilted her , then it became a Butchers Shop where animals were killed and hung up in my now lovely spacious living room , Haunted My Eye , it's history scared potential buyers away and the upside for me was a damn good buy , Stressed People can be totally convinced by imaginary flying objects , I say Hogwash.
So she was flung across the room and someone happened to have a camera to take the pic 😂 she clearly jumped off the bed in a set up scenario to put the place on the fame map and the story we have today
They definitely didn't want fame. They were very distressed. Janet, the girl the poltergeist was fixated on, is still traumatized to this day, and doesn't do publicity. She'll never get over what happened to her.
Everyone would have to have been involved. Police, journalists and film crews. That's a lot of people. For example, knocking coming from party wall, that's a thick solid brick wall that separates two properties from each other. Having a neighbour on the other side isn't going to help. It's just not possible to create that effect. It shouldn't happen full stop!
@@vermilliongecko Really? I must of imagined seeing several interviews with her then lol, if an old man with children of his own,(Bill Wilkinson) was actually speaking(which was on the the actual tapes I've heard) do you really think he'd ask questions like, why do girls have periods, and what is that plastic thing that men use when they sleep in a bed with a woman, these are things a 12 year old would ask if they were curious and didn't know, for starters even if this Bill led a sheltered life without Children he'd at least know to call it a condom/johnny wouldn't he lol..
