Mine's too. I used to look at him like a big brother, him being two years older than me. Just discovered songs by them that were probably not released at the time here in the U.S. ( can't get used to losing you and hands off she's mine) and I instantly loved both songs.
When the song first came out, David Gilmour and Pete Townshend were hanging out and were trying to figure out the chords. They couldn’t do it, so they called David and asked him. That’s pretty cool.

Credit that brilliant sax player for fitting in all the notes at Grand Prix racing speed. He held the works back just enough to keep a brilliant song from from coming out all cartoonish
The recording is tempo perfect. One of the most exhilarating aural experiences in all of popular music. All credit to the sax player for making us remember, even a little bit, what it's meant to sound like.
Agree 100%. Original was so ingenious. Something so unique about it. This version doesn't capture it whatsoever. Who knows - a band playing live is both feeling the tempo of the crowd and playing maestro. Original is a gem which should never be altered IMO though.
