The Enterprise-F celebrates Frontier Day 

Considering that she was originally designed by Adam Ihle for a fan contest by Star Trek Online to design the next Enterprise in 2011, he must be going crazy to actually see his Odyssey-Class coming to life like this and becoming canon. Congrats to Adam, she is and now allways will be a beauty. My favourite ship in STO, loved to fly her :D

Even tho frontier day turned out to be not the greatest day to be in starfleet I still had the absolute biggest smile on my face when this scene happened. That line from the operator “Copy that Enterprise, you’re clear for departure, Happy Frontier Day.” Followed by that upbeat Rendition of the main theme😮‍💨I had chills everywhere!

After 2 series and 0 Enterprise, we get 4 in the same series.

Starfleet has apparently never learned the motto: "All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again!!" Applies for both the Cylons and the Borg, apparently 😰

It may be overshadowed by another ship's resurgence at the end of the episode, but true to form, there's nothing like seeing an enterprise pull outta space dock for the first time ever

What's sad is Admiral Shelby's words would not have entirely rang true by Admiral Archer. Shelby's Starfleet has become one of stagnation, paranoia, and outright fear. The Enterprise F is truly an outstanding achievement, but at what cost? Ships now "connected" to basically a galactic mainframe AI? Archer would have questioned if that truly was progress. On one episode of Enterprise, Archer had to make a decision about a people he was truly compassionate for. He sat and listened to Phlox and what he thought and felt. A human and a Denobulan having an ethics conversation. But Archer walked away saddened, but wiser nonetheless. He felt until someone makes a rule not to interfere, then a Captain has to make a decision that while it might impact an entire planet, it keeps the integrity of peace and non-interference. No, Archer would have been disgusted by this as he was a man that put the needs of his crew and Starfleet above anything else. And if Admiral Archer saw this, he would be impressed by the technology, but disgusted at Starfleet and the Federation as it is now. He would have been the rebel just as Picard is now. But it would have been an amazing sight to have had an elderly Admiral Archer sitting in the Command Chair of NCC 1701-F. The Odyssey Class USS Enterprise.

Just 83 crew and they helped build a Federation. Little ships can do big things.

Waiting for all the non-STO players to cry about Kurtzman for this design. I for one love the F

Hmm, I think her speech would've been more accurate to say that the voyages of NX-01 led to the birth of the Federation.

When I see Admiral Shelby, I thought "Great! We're gonna see the "New Frontier" series as a follow-up to "Picard" About 30 minutes later, that dream was quickly vaporized 🙄😒

What is that bridge? A lonely, little chair in front of a pair of doors? I much prefer the in-game Aquarius, or even the Odyssey bridge to that sad backdrop. Kinda cuts away at the feeling of grandeur. As does the fact of introducing the ship only to have her decommissioned. Kind of glad not to see Shon in command of her, although I'm sorry to see Shelby's apparent fate. She deserved better. Similarly, I think the _Titan_ should have stayed the _Titan_ . She has her own legacy, as does the _Enterprise_ .

Icheb, Hue, Ro, Shelby .... I really am enjoying season 3, though I really wish they weren't killing off every background character they could get to reprise their roles. (Please tell me Barkley isn't going to turn up next!) By the end, I just want them to show us that Captain Tuvok is okay. And, given her station, it wouldn't hurt to know Admiral Janeway at least survived, too. That notwithstanding, I can't wait to see what comes next!

New show please on the Enterprise, Captain Riker and legacy crew!

It's actually pretty messed up. The crew and captain work their entire careers and get posted to a brand new ship and it turns out to be dubbed the federations flagship. Then a dumb fleet wide order comes down and an Admiral wants to film a quick puff piece on your bridge. An attack you had nothing to do with affects the entire fleet and when everyone comes to their senses your entire ship gets crapped on and gets demoted from USS Enterprise (F) to the USS Cerritos (A) or something and they give the name to another ship in the fleet that happened to be in the right place at the right time.

I KNEW we’d get to see Shelby. I bloody KNEW IT! Great to see Admiral Shelby. Couldn’t throw any more BOBW at this if you tried. And it works, god dammit Terry Matalas it works!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Starfleet already existed. That should have been "lead to the birth of what we know today as The Federation." :-/

This was one of the only things I was scratching my head about. Would you scrap a car that only had 20k miles on it if it works perfectly? No. Why are they decommissioning a new ship??? It doesn't make sense. The Enterprise-E, 21 years ago, was a new ship. It should STILL be in service, but I guess something happened to it, which is fine. Okay, say that was 10 years ago, the Enterprise-F would only be 11 years old. Why would they be decommissioning it? If anything, this should have been a christening ceremony.

Maybe both enterprises exist at the same time I hope because I really do love this ship class and I sort of got a love-hate relationship over the Enterprise g now

Starfleet has been around since 2130, Captain Archer's Enterprise was launched in 2151. Technically Admiral Shelby is wrong on the birth of Starfleet, she should have said the birth of the Federation which is 2161.

I'm just going to put this out there as I've never seen anybody ever say this. But what if the Borg Queen...is the old Janeway that helped Voyager get home. Whatever happned to her? And that is why they are hiding her face. They seem to be making people Borg using biological means this time with no sign of technology like they used to besides the Queen herself. Perhaps the pathogen the old Janeway used is the reason for that in some way so they control and build the collective drones now by biological means only these days, and is why Jack is important because he can do that as we have seen. They wanted Picards from his body, they also want Jacks so Starfleet couldn't infect the new method of assimilation they use. And the changelings had a problem with Starfleet for the same reasons. Essentially a virus so their beef is technically pretty much the same for simliar reasons. That is why she is also going after Earth, and using the person who near destroyed the Borg 10 years ago is leading it as the Queen using the changelings for infiltration and is why the Queen could control them and why Vadic could also hear voices aswell. We have yet to see any drones like the old ones so perhaps this is the new reborn tactic of the Borg. No technology, no nano probes for assimilation, just biological infiltration instead using that stuff from Picard which has been put into the breakaway changelings aswell. Plus it's cheaper in makeup for show budget as like Jurati, the Borg she had also had no technology. Just some black veins in their faces. Leaves more room for budget on the CGI one epuld presume...! Lets not forget that they at the start, went after the red lady, who was also Janeway at that institute on Earth. I think we will see Father and Data vs Son, good Borg vs Bad borg, good Janeway vs Borg Janeway, and O'Brien, Odo, the Major and also Sisko appear in some way to prevent the Federation from being defeated. I'm unsure how the hell they are going to get everything done in one show that wouldn't surprise me if it's a surprise 2 hour long show or has a yo be continued in some way for something afterwards, but one thing is for sure. The last Generation episode will be absolute Star Trek bad ass chaos for an hour straight to reach it's completion having tied up all ends. Buckle the hell up. It's going to be biblical.

Nitpicking here....but...."enterprise nx01 ....blah blah blah....led to the birth of ....Starfleet".......Wrong, Starfleet was already established as an existing organisation in the first episode of Star Trek Enterprise. It was the United Federation of Planets that the NX01's actions led to being created

Are you sure the F is being decommissioned? It looks like they are showing off the new flagship to me. Update: I just read the official page on Instagram. That is stupid to jump from F to G without ever knowing the F. This probably means they are going to recommission the Titan as the Enterprise G.

I don't know how to feel about this ship. My favorite has been the Enterprise-E for a very long time, and this doesn't look much different. It might grow on me though.

I don't like the captain's chair. It's so plain looking, like it came from Walmart or something. Its so cheap. Is there a lightbulb shortage in the future? Why are all starship bridges dimly lit? If there was more light on the bridge perhaps Admiral Shelby would have seen those two crewman rushing towards her with phasers drawn.
