How is there not a crowd gathered around this performance? This is excellent. There are times where he makes some mistakes but he plays right on through without batting an eye. This has to be a DIFFICULT song to play
Meanwhile I'm sitting here working out daily waiting to get a contract from a club and play in the champions league and no body is supporting me yet WOW 👌👌
@@DeborahE7 Lmao, if he plays this good, he would keep playing better. Being pianist for 8 years since 14y, still play everyday finding new inspiration on Internet, new song. Maybe new life, perhaps. P.S. I am actually an pianoholic
Fantastic! My mom bought me the sound track when I was nine. I’m about to turn fifty five and still love that record!! This young man is absolutely wonderful!!
How can folk walk bye this laddie playing a cracking good tune and making a excellent job of it. I think at least half the earth's population are tone deaf, who only appreciate over loud beat and rhythm tuneless dirge noise. Thank you very much son.
People have lives to live, places they have to be, appointments to keep, children to take care of...just because they have to keep moving doesn't mean they don't hear or appreciate what's around them. None of us knows what anyone else has going on in their life.
While Joyce is right about people having places to go, you're also right that people have no interest in public playing. I don't think you've gone far enough though, I'd imagine only one percent of people in the world are musically competent, and usually if you're not musically competent youre not likely to appreciate it.
It honestly kind of astounds me that so few people stopped to appreciate the music for a moment. I get that most in an airport are in a hurry, but if you're not, why would you not at least take a second.
Yeah, I sort of was astounded by that, too. I have been to that airport for connecting flights several times and I always stop if I have a couple minutes or more to listen and throw a 5$ bill into the collection pot. These guys not only perform well at such a young age, they also do this in a public place where so FEW people can appreciate or do ever appreciate what they are doing. This guy is amazing at 13...imagine him at 18-20-30... I hope he's rich and famous by then, getting a good start in such a "hostile" rushed environment as an airport.
This song isn't very easy to play. I learned how to play it when I was eighteen. If I had lessons. I could have played it when I was younger. He did a good job.
You do have a very few weak spots that you need to work on. It's best not to play the entire song. But just focus on where they are and practice those until you can do it properly. I've played that song for 19 years. Yet I've played the piano for 22. So just slow down while you play the song. After you have worked on that. Then you'll play it perfectly.
@@MrCrowebobby That's true, it happens to me even if I know how to play a song perfectly. Such as that one, Nocturne in Eb, Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, My Hear Will Go On. I get a little nervous playing in public. I don't do so very often. I've never had lessons. I'm 37 yet played since I was 14.
@@kennethwood88 I would give ten years of my to have been able to play really well by ear. And at 82, I haven't got much more than 10 left. I could read music on a simple level and could hear great improvisation, but couldn't find anything on the keyboard without the sheet music.
STC He played very impressively and you should be supportive of his and others people’s accomplishments, not putting them down. He may not be a genius, but that certainly does not mean he isn’t a pianist. Get out of here with your elitist BS.
Kid could reach octaves at that age, friggin miracle! I started playing piano the same year at the same age and boy does this kid have everything I wish I had :(
You could sense a fear of anxiety BUT once relaxed it turned into a ball of fun. I'm the exact same way when I perform in public areas. There's a lot of talent there and it's being used for joy.
'm 11 and I self taught myself this piece. I played piano for 7 years. It's easier than it looks trust me. I've trained 4 years on octaves so I coud play this song. One day I had a recital and I heard this song and he looked older than me and ever since I always wanted to be younger than him and play this piece
This is one of my all time favorite piano tunes, and you do it SO WELL. And watching you play it makes it all the better. I've watched this video at least a dozen times and never tire of it. Thanks, Evan!
I just learned the easy piano version of this but this is the original version which is much more difficult so major props to your son-he did a great job! Now time for me to learn the original version! Wish me luck!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! BRAVO!!!!!!! WOW!! I can't believe how good you played this song!! I never heard the extended part before and I am totally going to spend my life trying to learn it! Great job!! If you lived with me I would make you play all the time!! Unreal!! I didn't hear any mistakes at all except the slow start but who cares that was AMAZING!!!!!!! You weren't even nervous and if you were you couldn't tell!! Fantastic! STANDING OVATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This piece has been a dream for me to play since when I was a child. One year ago i watched this video full of envy (good one) i started taking lessons and now i can play more than half of it. Congratulations for your performance and thanks for the inspiration.
Amazing performance there and the best expression and dynamic is absolutely perfect. At time this song is quite hard to play but you have mastered it. Brilliant.
Paul Johnson Thanks for the advice. I already only talk to friends who encourage my progress. I only focus on my furture whether it be music, martial arts, or school
I love his composure, his right speed, his precision and calm in complex parts. He looks cool and determined and delivers a very convincing performance even considering some small errors, which add to the charme!
Good recovery in various spots. I’ve been playing ragtime since I was eleven (seventeen now) and I know how it is. :) I would say you play that piece better than I did at that age overall. Keep it up, the old music is too good to lose.
My favorite pianist! I love that you're trying different styles and genres! Ragtime is very precise which makes it difficult to master. Learn the Maple Leaf Rag, also by Scott Joplin. Learn to play it slow, then once you're comfortable with it you can pick up the pace. Great job as always!
Raymond Santoro I just finished learning maple leaf rag and it’s a pain in my ass. It’s so hard for me especially those left hand jumps in the middle, so good luck!
when he tries to play rag time he will master it. as he already playes like a pro. I am still learning to play it. I am still a student. playing the organ. soon to be 20 yearsnext January.
Lmfao did you know most babies that are imagrants learn 3 languages at age 4 and under like this isn’t that special it’s a slow easy song compared to other classic that are fast paced for real dude calm down
Zavier “Yeah like how many 13 year olds do you know that are independently wealthy playing their heart out in a airport and I’m sure he will gladly take more than just change usually people put in bills anyway?”....
This young man is quite an accomplished pianist at such a young age!! It takes hours of practice every single day to become that good!! Nicely done!! 👍🏻
I learned a long time ago if you don't let on that you made a mistake, not many people will know unless they just know the music being played. Very professional, great recovery. Well done!
My grandfather used to play this. One of the things I remember before he died (I was young and was before my siblings were thought of) I learned to play it for my dad. Such a great thing we share. Our ringtones for each other is The Entertainer
OMG! I'm 14 now and I played that one or two years ago for a recital, so I must have been 13! what a coincidence. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be faster though unless I played it completely wrong at my recital. And I can feel you with those mistakes on the left hand. THE JUMPS, It's one of the first pieces that really challenged me, even Alla Turca wasn't this bad. But get it faster and it'll be great. You'll probably improve a lot after this, I'm learning Fantasie Impromptu at the moment, and I'm just chilling on yt instead of practicing, I wish you the best.
Most people play it fast despite the fact that Joplin actually wrote on the original score 'NOT FAST'. This lad is slightly on the fast side of perfect.
Where airport patrons can feel like they are at an old western saloon; instead of the drudgery of a modern day airport. Good dynamics in your playing young man; whoever is your father should be proud of you. I bumped into this by mistake, and enjoyed it in full.
@@fartingisnatural6996 Ragtime is such an artform that i just cant listen to much "jazz" I just like classical and ragtime. To me playing by the rules are so valuable, Having fun doesn't apply to me in music.
...I loved your wonderful playing !!! 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪👍👍👍🎧🎹🎵🎶🎼🏆 And ... I signed up for your channel !!! You play and progress in amazing playing !!! Good luck! Rudi from Jerusalem Israel ...
