Really well done. I feel like I’ve lived this story. I’m one who was quick to adopt digital cameras and became nostalgic going back to film. For those like me that just love photography there’s a place for both and even what might be next. 😊
This is probably stupid because I’m playing a game while listening to this, so I’m probably missing important details, but imagine coating a wall with whatever the chemicals are and exposing it directly with a hole in the opposing wall. Like making a photo mural. I guess you’d need some lenses and stuff to flip the image right way up, but it would be so cool to have. (Assuming the environment outside is nice.)
you could do this with cyanotype, though it would prob cost a ton for the chemicals lol. you'd need a way to rinse them off so development stops, so a giant sheet of fabric that you could take down to rinse off would work best.
As a person who enjoys researching the history of photography and has a small vintage camera collection, as well as being engrossed in the Mirrorless market I thoroughly enjoyed this video which was passed on to me by a friend. I know being a content creator myself the extraordinary effort you put into this video and I hope you continue to get a lot more views. You did a fantastic job acquiring the information along with sample photographs from the early days which had to have taken a huge amount of time, once again I send you a thank you for your efforts. - Jeff
Thank you! These videos take a long time to make. Just know, there’s always something big being worked on behind the scenes. Little videos weekly, a big one a couple of times a year. That’s the goal!
Several years ago, I took it upon myself to try out a roll of albeit very much expired Kodachrome 64 35mm slide film. The company Dwayne's was the last place to still process it. And the clock was ticking. I'd love to say every photo came out as a masterpiece. But given the fact that the slide film was probably expired for at least a few years and I am not by any means a professional photographer. Let's just say it was a fun experience and leave it at that.
