Great vlog Andrew on the great game - your brutal honesty/realism is always very refreshing. Watching that AA fold live was hard but when taken as part of the whole session and what had gone before it was actually quite understandable. At the end of the day Andrew if we are not making mistakes we are not learning:))
just got back from work, smoked a big joint, i open youtube and i was so happy that i saw new video, then i click on it and i see its plo :( fffs fml hahahah :D no hate buddy i still love you :D
still a game similar in skill to NLH and not nearly as crazy gambling as it seems once you get used to it. Though this varies alot in the type of PLO game you sit in. have played plenty of nitty PLO games, would say about half of them are, just depends on the lineup. would give it a chance its alot of fun and more interesting than holdem to play.
Love the PLO action and the commentary from Doug and Brad. Bad session results wise but great entertainment for us, that last hand was super brutal. Here's hoping you run better next time out ❤️
I feel you on that aces hand versus Swim with the pair of kings. It just gets in your head from the previous results. Yep, I think you are right to just close your eyes and open jam on that king high flop.
Brother I just wanna say thank you for your amazing vlogs ! I believe your one of the best poker minds in the business and I believe your gonna start killing these Omaha games here shortly and I'm beyond happy to be able to follow and become a better Omaha player myself from the master! PS congrats on the lodge blessings
keep learning and analyzing hands! You gotta be you, and that is what I'm here to see, you and what you want to produce. Loved your openers... great footage. Gotta admit, rough seeing you and Brad taking such a beating down there... Doug, not so much, but you guys... The run good is coming, and will surely make up for the losses and then some. Until then, keep on keepin' on brother
Andrew, I love the PLO content. You do you. Adds great variety to your videos. Watched the aces hand on the live stream, and wondered why you folded at the time. Glad you included it and gave your perspective. Keep up the good work!
Enjoy the vlogs, always entertaining and educational to hear your insights in the hands. Including both during and then after! PLO itself is a action packed game that can produce such brutal swings. Not being bankrolled for it, when I can find a limit game, then I can enjoy some Omaha, but folks just want to be able to big bet/pot it, so those are to find.
\o/ I mainly play NLH but have been playing some PLO lately. Since I'm new to the game, I was told to only play the better hands preflop, double suited with some connection, or a good wrap with a single suit. They also tell me that since it is harder to navigate post flop, to just fold if I don't smash it. I don't know if it has a name, but they play a form of PLO in my local cardroom where everyone puts in 10 pre flop and the betting starts after the flop. Max buy in of 2k but match stack so not unusual to see 5 or 10k stacks. Love your vlogs, keep them coming. PLO makes for some good variety if you can keep track of the hands and action.
PLO really does some tricks to the mind, especially when you’re in stuckville. It baffles me when you shoved all in with a couple of mediocre hands then folded pocket aces heads up on a K94 board with 1spr behind.
It was a relief to know it was meet up dollars being given away for that stream session. Documenting a process is never easy, but it will definitely pay off in the long run. You're really exercising the Texas heart muscle 💪
The love of PLO that was seeded in 2020 has been growing limbs and those limbs will bear fruit eventually. You gon get that fruit from the top of the tree at this rate my boy. Hang those no limit gloves up my man. Why fight head up when you use four cards and basically jump your opponent with timing lol take it from us PLO players who were raised during the pandemic 😷. That fold with aces was spot on , thinking it was a bad fold is results oriented at the end of the day not the other way around
at 0.75 spr its likely a call. could be argued a fold ar 1.5 or 2 but when we are that shallow just have to call it of. we only need better than 30% equity for that call to be correct and we will have that on average.
Long time fan. I think your calls because its a meet up game is setting you up for a bad routine. You're a calling station and know it lol. Nothing wrong with folding when you know you're likely the dog.
I always love the intro music. Definitely need to tighten up drastically with the pre flop calls. Tighten up and it prevents many bad calls post flop and less tilt play. Definitely stick with PLO. Just tighten up pre
the color change at 1:05 always freaks me out lmao I actually screen recorded that part and tried to fix it and it definitely came out a lot better than I thought it would 😂
Oh man, this episode was like watching that recent @natureismetal post where “Andrew” the serval kitten takes on “any other player” the lioness with gruesome if not altogether unexpected results. Hoping the next session is more ‘favorable’
The first hand, the JJ86 hand, and the Aces hand....woof! Might be time to stop playing the two card game if this is what it's doing to your Omaha game
The moment you just owned out loud and proud, that you made a mistake, reminded me of why I value watching your videos about many other poker RU-vidrs! The game looked fun and you can’t always be on the good side of the action, you’ll bounce back.
Noooooo! Don't leave the PLO streets (25:50). I am so desperate to see a game other than NLH that I'd even take 7-card stud high only. Okay, I lied, I wouldn't. But I
I know you'll forgive any comment because they're good for RU-vid seo, so I'll quote Dr Tarrasch : It's not enough to be a great player, it's also necessary to play well...
Wow, just started watching. AQQ8 one suit is ok, but I'm not trying to play for stacks with it deep. The 8 is doing your hand zero favors as it is stretched too far from the Q to be of much use. You'd be better off with even AQQ2 becaude at least it connects with the Ace and your opponent shouldn't show up with 67xx too often when ripping stacks that deep, so a 345 flop should be ok But with AQQ8 if you somehow catch a miracle JT9 board, KQxx is a much likelier holding to run into as far as ranges for stacks, even with you blocking the Q I know Texas can be nuts, but in PLO preflop equities run real close. Try to see flops first rather than stack off deep, your opponents will make bigger mistakes on an equity basis postflop, don't play preflop Bingo and let them get away with making less of a mistake Also you mention you block Aces and your opponent might have Kings. Your opponent having Kings is an absolute disaster when you are paired and it's lower
3 & 4 betting definitely has its place in deepstakck plo... cant be scared or you will lose out on alot of good spots and only slightly limit your variance. better to just embrace swings and play smaller if its too much. AQQ8 > AQQ2 if both suited/doublesuited the same.
Damn that AA fold with an SPR less than 1 on the flop was hard to watch. Good on you for showing and owning your mistakes. That feels like it might be the biggest one I’ve seen on the VLOG so far. Love the videos though!
