AICabal AICabal the settings in this game, all being pre rendered backgrounds, will probably look good forever. This and the older resident evil games share a similar style and they all hold up visually in that respect. It's pretty cool.

8 years later and I still listen to this medley. It is so special to me, FFVIII is one of my favorite FFs and you all did it justice. This medley evokes a great feeling of nostalgia on me, it makes me relive some great moments of my life and can't thank you enough for creating it.
Truly epic. My greatest respect to all the great musicians who contributed to this and incredible work from Marc. The amount of talent and time it requires to arrange, organize and finish this is beyond words.

Nobuo Uematsu's music certainly played a huge part in me enjoying this series so much. The fact that he's now done with the series, empties its soul a lot.
To Zanarkand was a good song, but the overall soundtrack of FFX wasn't up to par compared to FF6-FF9, and that's probably because it's the first game that Uematsu wasn't the primary composer on. He did a few tracks like the Battle theme, To Zanarkand and some others, but otther than those he shared composing duties with two others. Honestly, in my opinion the soundtracks of FF games haven't been nearly as good since Uematsu left the series, but I have hope for FFXV because it's the KH composer who actually does really great music as well. I will also say that the composer for FFXIV:ARR does a really great job imitating Uematsu's style.
I don't agree. I think FFX's soundtrack is just as good as FFVII - FFIX. Nobue Uematsu does not have to be the sole composer for the soundtrack to be good. Consider that he picked the composers on FFX. Also take a look at Chrono Triggers soundtrack by Yasunori Mitsuda.
I've listened to this and other medleys of yours while working, for hours. Years after it came out. This arrangement is so precious to me. You shared your love and passion for the video game, the series, and music, to thousands of people. Some come once and have a great time. Others, like me, don't forget and stick around. I don't know much about who you are. Don't know much about your politics, your beliefs, and maybe I could be disappointed by you like I was by J.K.Rowling for instance. But just for making what you make, you are one of my favorite persons around! Thank you so much!

FFVIII will always have a special place in my heart as the game that introduced me to the franchise. I've played several since, but in my opinion VIII has some of the best music in the series. Fantastic cover, wonderful job putting this together :) Gave me one heck of a nostalgia trip!
7years later, hope all is well and that you had a great NY :) I always thought that 8 had the best town themes, that was the only area 7 didn't have a blockbuster with too! Unless you count the coastal theme but even that's not really a town theme. The last best one before fishermans horizon was probably Home Sweet Home from 5 all the way back in 1995!

I watch this video just about every day. I don't know how many of these epic medleys you plan on making, but let's hope that it is one every year for the rest of your life. I honor you all as musicians and appreciate all the time you must have dumped into this video. What are the chances of a Kingdom Hearts medley? I may soil myself if that were to happen. A Legend of Dragoon medley would probably cause me to soil myself as well. I tip my hat to all of you who made this happen. P.S. Marc (or whoever composed this) your transitions are seamless, impressively so.
Final Fantasy VIII is my first and my favorite FF series. It is also my first RPG games that I played. I guess thats whats made it left so much impression to me. As a 13 yo kid when I first played this, I never thought a game could left so many emotion to me when I first played this. Truly a great game. Even though a lot of people don't agree how great FFVIII is, (since its more of a futuristic setting rather than a fantasy like FFIX) it still holds a high place in my heart. And listening to this brings all the nostalgia back. Thank you for this awesome medley...

this sure brings back memories, i played this back in 2000 when i was 10, even though i didnt know what i was doing, this is the game that introduced me to final fantasy and RPG`s ,thanks for making this awesome tribute to a very underrated ff game, in my opinion the best :D

I've been listening to this and Part 2 since they came out... honestly, several times each week since then. This music really helps me focus on my programming and brings back memories growing up even though I was already 18 and on my own when this game was released.
Etant née dans les années 90 (pile cette année là en fait mwaha), je me souviens encore parfaitement de ce jeu car il m'a le plus marqué. J'ai débuté mes premiers jeu et à devenir Fan de la saga FF avec cet opus et par la suivre, continuer à suivre et jouer aux jeux de Square Enix (SquareSoft à l'époque). Merci beaucoup, c'est un très bon medley, bravo ! Ce FF est mon préféré, je continue d'ailleurs à y jouer de temps en temps. J'aimerais tellement une version HD avec les moteurs graphique d'aujourd'hui mais on peut toujours rêver XD
My favourite game of my childhood aswell. If I ever should be rich (like really, really rich) I would propose to Square Enix to make a proper remake and would pay for the development so they don't need to worry about return of investment or some corperate bullshit... but yeah, we can only hope about such a think to happen on it's own. Maybe with some remakes of their best era (FF6-10), maybe they would realize what made those games so good and special and maybe they would make a good game again... but they definetely turned to the worse after they fused with Enix.

although FFVI and FFIX have my favorite soundtracks in the series I have to say this is my favorite of your medleys just due to the increased production value and more instruments added with each one you make. Can't wait for Part 2

I'm at a loss for words. I grew up with these soundtracks. I can't even begin to imagine how much time and effort went to this video and I'm only at Part 1. You deserve at least ten-fold the views for this masterpiece. The cutting, the transitions, all those different musicians and instruments, all cut together without any flaws. Simply fantastic.
I am very familiar with the music of this game and I must say I am very impressed with the song choices, the order you played them in, and the transitions between them they are very good choices implemented brilliantly and fishermen's horizon with beautiful singing is so good! I am very impressed with this first part

Just realized that exactly 1 year ago you uploaded a drums demo for this medley. Now it's finally here and it blew my expectations apart. FF8 has my favorite soundtrack and this video has done it justice. Best part is that the medley's not even over! Props to all of you involved. Hope Uematsu sees this.

Marc Papeghin that's incredible haha. I think it double stands out for me since I always have Selphie play the Sax at the concert (and this is kind of her theme I feel). Hopefully we'll get some live horns/brass into our recordings soon too!

OMG! LadyReemz lyrics popped up in there outta of the blue! OMG!!!!! A long time ago I requested she cover Fisherman's Horizon so it was nice to see some of that in there! Je n'ai pas connu le jeu hélas... Mais heureusement grâce à vous je découvre ces petits chefs d'oeuvre. Magnifiquement executé, tout le monde envoie du lourd, les voix sont sublimes, les sons maitrisés. Le tout est très cohérent et s'enchaine si bien que je devine à peine les transitions. Ah, memories. This game popped my RPG cherry, tho i was raised with mom playing the nes/snes SEEDs growing up. Within a week of discovering this game at 16 I was hellbent on going to Fullsail to become the first American character designer for Squaresoft. 13 years later I work maintenance at a Marriott; poignant nostalgia. :-) Thank you truly, this is a well executed effort my friends. Nobuo Uematsu must be delighted.
Everytime I come back to this Medley I'm just blown away all over again. Also I'm yet again amazed how it doesn't have more views when you see how much work went into this and. how epic it is. Meanwhile you have ridiculously dumb videos made in 5 minutes that have millions of views.
