Don't Rage at me but I find this game to be one of the best final fantasy's ever the plot and story and music made me love it. Though it's one of the most underated ff games of all time it will always be my favorite :D next to XII
oh my gosh... 0:40 is always my favorite part since the original. Deep emotional impact --- journey, memories, sadness, love, and friendship T__T This is my all time favorite Final Fantasy ever. I love everything about it.
Am I dreaming? Is this real!? This is too good to be true!! The BEST video on the internet, by far. One of my all time favourite OSTs remade in such a masterful way! I'm overjoyed to see the fans of Final Fantasy show their love through talent to create something truly amazing! This stuff makes me happy to be alive.
***** Many thanks for the kinds words man, means a lot ! FFV's OST is indeed a masterpiece and I really had a blast putting this whole medley together. And once again kudos to all the guests who lent their talent to bring it to life !
FFV is my 2nd favourite game of all time (only beaten by Super Metroid) so I I can't believe I just found this video. Absolutely magnificent job, this is going in a playlist for sure.
I've changed my mind reading this. Some years ago I commented it was a crime to leave Clash on the big bridge out of this medley. (yes, I watch this for years now, lol) Yes, Clash on the big bridge could have come up somewhere. Right after the piano intermission, or together with the big boss tracks. The track right after the big finale is a castle dungeon theme I believe, "not that important". Yet, it makes sense (too much sense actually) to be right there. I think this arrangement makes sense as it is. Even if Clash on the big bridge could fit, he didn't want it there, arrtistically, not emotionally, or whatever. It's a artistic choice. If I would fit this track in the medley, I could, and many also could. But I couldn't put this medley together from scratch. Now that it's ready, it's easy to point the flaws. And I don't think this is a flaw whatsoever now. And, Marc, this video brightens my day, everytime :) Great work!
Tenderness in the Air just makes this song for me. Something about how you pace the song from piano, to piano with vocals and string is just absolutely pleasing to my ear.
I never played FFV. Born in 1982, I came late to the FF franchise (7 was my first, and still my favourite). As such, I never knew the FFV soundtrack as intimately as the subsequent entries. That being said, the finale played here by Papeghin and his colleagues is some of the most exciting music I've ever heard. Such energy, drive and joy! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for your kind words ! FF5 has an amazing soundtrack (well, like every FF Uematsu has scored 🙂) and I really had a blast putting this whole piece together ! 7 was also the very first I played, and it literally changed my life. In case you haven't seen it, I have released a medley for it a few months ago 🙂
this should have at least 10x more views. my favourite youtube video. I can only imagine the amount of work needed to invite the musicians, record and combine every bit of the puzzle. (currently a huge fan of FVIII Epic Medley as well)
+Preston Dixon Always a tough question to answer... Because of the nostalgia factor I always tend to say VII since it was the first one I played ( 18 years ago already! ) But I love V, VI, VIII, IX or X as much ;)
Love your music and FFV. I remember listening to this exact medley 10 years ago while driving to school. Thanks for the memories. Also today im 3 months sober :)
Whenever I feel down (or have to do the dishes) I listen to your melodies and it pushes any negativity out and brings out all this positive energy. Can't get enough!
It's been a long time since I last listened to this medley. Still gives me the shivers; absolutely marvelous musicianship displayed by everyone in this video.
Man I first discovered this video about 4 years ago and absolutely loved it, having been playing through the game at that time, and revisiting this after so many years has been incredible. Before when I would listen to this, I would think "ooh what a cool medley of my favorite final fantasy songs". Coming back to it now after having listened to tons of prog and other music and after having improved as a musician, it's remarkable to listen to all the little details I didn't notice before while tripping hard on nostalgia. I absolutely love this video, and it remains one of my favorite things to go back to on the internet. Here's to you Marc!
I listen to this arrangement every day. On the way to work, when I'm at home, any time, anywhere. Fantastic job man, love all the styles you chose, the songs you chose and just the whole composition is great. Thanks for making this man, none of my friends liked this game the way I did, but it is most definitely my favorite game of all time. It's tough finding good covers of the original pieces and you nailed it man, great stuff!
Thanks to the Dhalmel for sending all of us SGD fans here. FFV was my first console game (zSNES emulated until I could get the PS1 version for PS2 once I turned 18, never grew up with consoles, only computers) and it introduced me to JRPG's as a whole. FF games to this day have had a huge impact on my life and I still adore FFV
First I figure out which themes I'd like to include in the medley, then it's all a matter of piecing it all together ! I mostly improvise on the keyboard to find out the transitions and pretty soon the whole thing is mapped out in my head. I generally don't write any notes down but make up the arrangements as I go ! Also, when I ask guests to perform solos, I often bounce back on what they recorded and the arrangement evolves as a result :)
Legitmently the best person on all of RU-vid. You should make one for each game. People would pay for stuff like this.. Or at least I know I would. Cheers!
I listened to many of these themes from Final Fantasy V as I walked across the United States a few years ago. This medley remix made my day, as it returned some of my lost memories from the walk. Long live Galuf!
I've listened to this dozens of times already, and I'll listen to it dozens more. Writing this on a tablet, while listening to it at school. Perfect for exam reviews.
I've listened to this again after several months. My opinion on this hasn't changed; everyone who participated in this fantastic medley is a truly virtuous musician with an abundance of talent. Thank you all for playing this brilliant medley, it's truly a delight to the ears!
Actual instrumentation? FUCKING STEEL DRUMS?! But seriously, though, as a hardcore music nerd this has already made me catch my breath at least three times. This is amazing.
Holy bajeezus, I'm gonna spend the next few days watching the rest of these. I had only watched the FF6 one, but man this some of the best stuff on youtube. Great job, everyone!
I cannot state enough how cool and impressive this is I love this game and its music and in my mind it doesn't get enough love but this medley oozes with not just skillful playing of instruments but also the love I feel it deserves this was nothing but a joy to watch and listen to, all the props to you and your friends for doing this
2019 and i'm still listening to these! THIS IS REALLY A GREAT ARRANGEMENT!! Will never get tired to listen to these over and over again because FFV is my first and will forever be my best FF. Kudos to the people who made this possible and also to the arranger and the original composer!
This became one of my favourite videos ever, FFV is one of my favourite in the series, being also one of my most played too, this brings me so much memories
playing through FF8 right now, game has been surprising me but there's a reason people replay FF1 and FF5 more often, replay value is a great testament to the great game design (and also less dialog boxes thank fucking god LOL) I'm amazed at the way FF1 tells story, never more than 4 lines of text, very efficient and effective, elegant, sophisticated
I just want to say thank you for taking the time to make these awesome sound tracks. It sounds really good and brings back memories of my childhood. I wish every single one of you the best of luck in future projects. You guys have a lot of talent.
Wow!!! Mindblowing!! Thank you soo much for this!! XD Excellent Job. I'm a big fan of FF5 so this really touched me. >.< I love your guys' take on the music, how it's choreographed, how it flows so wonderfully; absolutely excellent!! XD Makes me want to hear what you can make from the soundtrack of Treasure of the Rudras! XD
This, and all of your medleys in fact, is a performance I would pay to go see. Thank you for uploading it here for the public. Everything about this is amazing, down to the talent of each performer! Thanks to all!
I've seen this so many times before, and yet, everytime I watch it through the end, like now, I start literally crying. It's happening again. So many memories, poured into this game. And your passion, all of you guys passion also shows greatly in this video. It's impossible to just stay indifferent to it. It moves me beyond words. Thank you, all. Much love.
It still baffles me that you thought to go from Harvest to the Decisive Battle, it shouldn't work - but my god does it, the sorta joyful glee as harvest ramps up into the suddenly dark & thunderous percussion and unnerving synth of decisive is just genius.
Haha yeah I can't remember exactly how I thought of this transition, sometimes they just come to me out of the blue and I just try them out to hear if they'd actually work ! It was the case with this one, it shouldn't work but for some reason it does ^^
they're all talented, but anybody can pick up an instrument and learn these songs. the real talent is his ability to put tracks together and blend them and compose... plus video editing.. knowing which songs should follow which... in my opinion thats the real talent. separates him from everyone else on youtube for sure.
I am totally and utterly impressed with this! As a composer, who has done many FF medleys herself, I understand what a joy this must have been to create!! ;)
This is my favorite video you've done, that shit just did not put a "clash on the big bridge" !!! It is essentially a piece in the game but NO! you chose not to put it: /. I love your video and I'm signed up, but it really gives me angry when a job that could been spectacular 100% is not only for a theme / It is a problem that also step video Final Fantasy IX, there was "Dark Messenger" There was, "You're Not Alone", there was "Final battle" Because! . But hey, whatever, your work is very good same.
I actually like that Clash at The Big Bridge isn't here. I've grown tired of hearing it everywhere, and it's the only song that gets any recognition in the soundtrack, all just because it "rocks hard". The more hearty and dramatic songs hardly ever get some spotlight, so I'm glad to have found a video dedicated to the part of the soundtrack that is not the tired vision others have of Final Fantasy V.
+AdolphX I like it, thumbs up. What really bothered me was the drums. All the others somewhat play like the original version, but the bass and drums don't. The drums are great and skilled, but genreic and doesn't match the other musicans. Bass skips alot of things. All the fretless instruments, (guitar on tenderness is in the air wasn't in tune either) like the cello and the violin were out of tune most of the time. That's actually a couple of reasons. HOWEVER, there is a unity, the whole thing, da music! And that is bigger than its parts, i love this anyway.
Je ne me lasse pas d'entendre cela je vous remercie de nous avoir donné ce don précieux i never tire of hearing this thank you for giving us this precious gift
