If you're looking for an exciting Jeep off-roading adventure in Moab, look no further than the Seven Mile Rim Trail! This 14-mile trail will take you about 4 hours to navigate, but trust us, you'll want to stop several times to take in the incredible views. While rated as moderate, there are some challenging optional lines you can take if you're feeling adventurous.
Starting with a steep rocky climb on a shelf road towards the top of the mesa, the terrain changes several times along the 13 miles, keeping you engaged throughout the trail. At the top of the climb, you'll be rewarded with an amazing view that stretches for miles in all directions.
Although we missed out on seeing the Uranium Arch by taking a bypass, we still had an amazing time on the trail. The terrain changed from dirt and bumpy rocks to smooth Moab slick rock for the next few miles, providing plenty of challenging obstacles.
In this video, join us as we take on the Seven Mile Rim Trail in our Jeep Wranglers. We didn't quite know what to expect, but we were blown away by the stunning views and challenging obstacles. Follow along on our East Jeep Safari adventure in Moab by checking out the links in the description below.

Did some of that trial as it is part of the Backwards Bill Trail. We saw the Jeep folks setup there for EJS near Whipout Hill - now that is an obstacle that has high scare factor. Great to see both of you out together and when my wife comes with me it is awesome like this year at EJS. If Regina keeps taking her Jeep on these harder trails I think the back bumper needs upgrading or it is going to get pummeled coming off ledges etc.

I have yet to finish the video (paused for this brief moment). I love Regena's input… somehow I just connect with her. She lets me know that it's okay for us (women) to build up a Jeep and go wheeling or overlanding. Plus the refinement of a nice camp and good cooking, come on!!!. Regena reassures us that it is okay to do this, I can't explain it. Thank you!!!! P.S. Can we get a gathering with Regena and Cara (Ozark Overlanding)??? Let's build a Barbie who goes overlanding in Joe's jeep… I did that in the 70's.
@regenakowitz

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words! 🤗And there's absolutely nothing wrong with being comfortable so that you truly enjoy your off-grid experience. I mean...lighters are a relatively modern invention but I don't see many (any?) folks out there lighting their campfires by rubbing two sticks together. If there's something that's going to make my adventure more comfortable and enjoyable, and it's no trouble to bring it along, well, it's coming with. Just sayin'! 😊

I’ve done 7 Mile twice in a rental Jeep. Great views indeed at the canyon rim. Both times just a few rigs out there. Almost Had the place to ourselves. Uranium arch and the steep crawl in/ out make quite the pucker factor. The off camber turns can be a bit scary. Many people never heard of it, glad to see it getting some love.

We decided to do this trail based on your assessment of the trail. At 15:48 you gloss over a part of the trail that some would consider unnerving. You didn't show the pitch and roll at that point of the trail, which we noticed was 21° roll and then combine that with the downhill portion that put you at a 26° pitch. That combo was freakin scary!! We did it and we prayed the whole time. I think maybe showing something like that in more detail would be helpful to those that are watching your videos looking for ideas for trails to conquer in Moab. We did it, with no issues, but it definitely freaked us out at first.

Hey brad! I stopped by said hi at overland expo in colorado last year. Happy to see you two do this trail! I took my wife, and her friend and husband on it for Thanksgiving couple years ago...we found it to be a fantastic ride like you two! However, when i read your title, I thought for sure you were going to be talking about the "Tippy Spot" an off camber (maybe 24/26 degrees?) section just after burnt toast (the section you drive through two rocks) we were so scared..we backed out. I am on 37"s. 2.5" lift in a JT and had a tent on top, the length of the JT helps, but being off camber and having turn and be so top heavy, it was scariest ive done. You two do that part or drive around? thanks!

This was an enjoyable video! Great scenery. Great narration. Great editing (I dare say outstanding!). Seeing Regena's expressions as she went down that obstacle. Being able to express what she was feeling while doing it was fun, exciting, and SO relatable! Great job on conquering that (and Top of the World the day before!). I'm sure her confidence has skyrocketed when it comes to those obstacles. But probably what hurt most was saying that Brad was probably right about lift and tires. LOL Either way, please keep these videos coming! We visited Moab last year for the first time after hiking Rim 2 Rim in Grand Canyon. We didn't have our Jeep, so we went with Epic 4x4 Adventures and drove a Kawasaki side by side. It was a blast, so seeing and talking about the trails we did brought back LOTS of fond memories from our trip last year! Thank you for all you both do! My wife and I just got back from Moab UT and we did the seven mile rim which was awesome, but you missed some very fun things to see on that trail. You explained you missed uranium arch, after going between monitor and merrimac (which is amazing slickrock), then the squeeze between the two rocks (which you experienced), you did not talk about Wipeout HIll obstacle, hopefully you saw Determination Towers is in movies/commercials, you missed tushner tunnel, you missed the dinosaur Bones, portions of the trail are very sandy which is nice, a portion of the trail has water from a nearby spring, I think you missed a lot. In the AllTrails app, the trail is known also known as Monitor and Merrimac trail. I enjoy your videos, hope you keep doing them - any comments?

About WHY the Merrimack and the Monitor. There is a point on the trail you can stand between them both. The shape of the rocks where they face each other look like the bows of two ships. Yes, it does take a little imagination, but you can definitely see them as ships heading your way.

I've only been able to attend one EJS, and that was in 2015. I did 4 different trails in my 2000 XJ, and Seven Mile Rim was definitely my favorite. Sorry you missed the Uranium Arch - not as spectacular as what you see in Arches NP, but cool nonetheless. Hopefully you got to drive the crazy off-camber arc just before the Monitor & Merrimack! Thanks for posting - it really brought back some great memories!

Brad you made a comment during this video that you "used to have a Bronco". Does that mean you got rid of your Bronco?
@TrailRecon

Yep, sold it last year.

Hi Brad and Regina, I am heading out there with my wife and was thinking of this trail BUT we both HATE shelf roads. How bad was the shelf road part? Is the trail out and back? If so how long did you take out and back? Thanks for the videos!
@regenakowitz
@regenakowitz Год назад
It was an out and back, at least the way we did it, and the time we took to do the trail doesn't equate to the way most people will do it...we were filming so it took as a lot longer than it would take the average person. And the shelf road was not too bad, just at the beginning and nothing crazy. Brad and I both hate shelf roads too, so I get it!

Do you still have the Power Wagon? That was an awesome setup you put together!
@regenakowitz
@regenakowitz Год назад
Brad sold the Power Wagon last year. We just weren't using it as often as the Jeep and trailer so it didn't make sense to keep it.

If someone ends up scared but you are able to drive out under your own steam at the end of the day, I will call that a successful adventure!

Great video! What's that song you're playing around the 4 to 5 minute mark? Great tune, but couldn't get a result on Shazam for it.

Thanks! I use licensed music from musicbed to avoid copyright strikes, so you usually won't find them Shazam or Spotify.

FYI, If you guys are going to communicate on the radios you may want to actually push down the PTT …..or it’s just Hollywood!

We were actually communicating. That’s how the GoPros in each vehicle caught both sides of the conversation.

What's the large screen navigation system your using. Trying to determine best way to go without having to squint at iphone. Seems a 10 inch or so screen would fit the bill. Ipad or garmin or something else?
@TrailRecon
@TrailRecon Год назад
It's the Garmin Tread, still testing it out and undecided if I'll use it for the long term.
