​​@@DerSchleierthey are highly superstitious. The iSangoma ( witchdoctor ) is consulted for most social and physical ills or concerns. One of my employees told me ( early 1990s ) that the effect of rubbing his hands on a black cat, thereafter rubbing his hands over his entire body, would make him invisible to his enemies, it would also protect him from bullets when being shot at or fired upon, among many other cultural beliefs. Ngempela, iqiniso. I lived in Durban for 38 years. While studying toward my first Bachelor's Degree at Natal University, ( early 1980s ) I studied Zulu, the language, which included Zulu History. I also took a year of Social Anthropology, considering the "shared understandings", cultural norms and belief systems of many African tribes, including other indigenous cultures situated around the globe. I also learned much through living among the Zulu people, for close to 40 years, through the process of participant observation.

In spear and shield or stick fighting,hand to hand combat belongs to the Venda And Tsonga people ,even Xhosa people are better at hand to hand and that is proven in the boxing industry of SA,most boxers are from these three tribes

Shaka was a Royal son (out of wedlock) between KaSenzangakhona and Nandi, she was ousted to another Clan, where Shaka grew up to take revenge for his mother's treatment against his biological paternal tribe. He then kept on conquering more & more tribes to form the Zulu nation.
