Hi Adam, I did push my luck a bit but I've made up a softer bungee now so it's going to a slower and higher launch ...that's the theory anyway. The small break in the main Spar was just on the outside of the join but the leading and trailing edges kept it the wing intact it held the stresses very well didn't it. Everyone needs a signature maneuver 😁👍

Longer rubber with smaller dimension will be better Chris, the spa was broken from an earlier crash so I'm amazed it held up under the stress of bungeeing 👍

@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes I've never seen a winder work. Is it like a high gear fishing reel? Or is it spring loaded?

@@SteffenRC It's like a fishing reel Will, this one's 12-1 ratio, it may originally been a twist drill, I took it apart it the grease was hard in places ... it needed doing!

Hi, thanks for your comment, I'm not sure you're right there, watching Tom Hallam's channel (maxfliart) he uses a hand winder to launch quite successfully, at least that's what I'm going to try, cheers.

@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes Watched Tom's video, I think he is a one off. F1A free flight gliders use a captive tow with hand tow similar to yours for what they call a circle tow, once they launch they use the winch sometimes or pull the line and out like fishing handline to circle aloft for just the right conditions, then with a sharp short tug the tow releases starting the timer that controls the flight. I do have to say, I fly 2M and up gliders, using high start, hand tow, reflex hand tow, double reflex hand tow and electric winch. there are a lot of glider types I have not flown, so you may have come across a type I have not seen as yet. If you can get the tow to work, good on you, but for RC you need to be at the model end of the line if you are the pilot. Keep going I love your video builds and flights.

I was inspired to make this bungee after watching your successful flights for a larger model, I just took it along as a backup in case the hand winder gave me problems. I've now made a much softer bungee so it's going to be fun 👍
