@@amare7430 why are y’all acting as if Jake had absolutely no choice? I mean the mf while dying wished for a fucking sandwich😂 Jake is being more stupid than them
I do like that this episode actually sort of established a limit for Jake. Like, his power isn’t unlimited, so he’s not too overpowered or anything, lol.
i like how this episode was kinda making a deal about the dangers of peer pressure, and then at the very last moment they more or less went fuck it with that '"message"' lmao
i mean, i think the message is that peer pressure in general is bad but sometimes to solve problems you have to manipulate people for the greater good?
I was today years old when I realized how dark this episode actually was. The fact that Finn eventually realizes Jake’s death is imminent and that the only way to save them all is to push Jake beyond his absolute limit is honestly really disturbing.
Iconic episode But yeah, those Hot dogs have some brain issues At least we have War Elephant that ended up appearing again in future episodes, which was almost a year or more
The war elephant appears in the final episode when Finn is atleast 19, but this episode is when Finn is at most 14, which gives us a 5+ year difference
Regular Show: A highly intelligent race of hot dogs that were able to formulate a plan to get anyone who entered the freezer to believe that they wanted to be eaten to set up an ambush to be almost successful. Adventure Time: A group of challenged hot dogs that crumbled in any kind of situation, little help to any of Finn and Jake problems, and were only good at peer pressuring jake. Show differences.
I love how instead of going for the moral that you should put friends before everything, Finn just wishes for the fucking Elephant so he could make a wish to save his friends. That was a gamer move lmao.
One thing I love about Adventure Time is that it often deliberately rejects the classic morals that any other kids cartoon would jump at the chance to teach, and instead just solves the problem easily with the characters making objectively correct choices. Like the episode in season 1 where Finn wanted to help everyone, but all the people wanted conflicting things. Jake tried to tell Finn that maybe he can't please everyone all the time, but Finn was like "nah I wanna be a hero, and heroes always help everyone no matter what" and then he found a way to solve all their problems. Or the whole thing about Finn's fear of the ocean. The lesson of the first episode was that Finn's flaw of his fear of the ocean doesn't make him any less of a hero, and that sometimes its ok to be afraid of something. Then later in the series, he literally just kills the Fear Feaster with the grass sword, and that completely removes his fear of the ocean permanently. I love Adventure Time because it pretty much tells you that you absolutely can have your cake and eat it too. There is nothing wrong with solving your problems with a magic wish. And sometimes problems really can be solved easily. Not every hardship you face in life is going to come with some enlightening moral lesson. Sometimes things just suck, and if you can find a way to solve the problem easily you should absolutely take it.
@@helixsol7171 I haven't watched all adventure time episodes, and i need to know the episode you refer to, I should make myself clear from the start, sorry.
+Tom: spoilers I guess but Jake’s biological dad is an alien named Warren Ampersand and in one of the final few eps “Jake the Starchild”, he takes Jake to his home planet and basically Warren can stretch way better than Jake
These guys all dumb, the people that stay inside the box and dont break out they zone is the peoples that never leave comfort therefore they live. But are they living tho?
Let me point out. Finn, during his 10 seasons, almost never actually used swears. His father abandoned him, got the whole world in danger because he wanted some fun, asked to see him only to ask for favours, and lied to him in order to abandon him again. And after all that, Finn called him wack or some such because he just doesn't straight up insult people.... Except for these guys. They are so microbrained that Finn gave up.
I mean, those are technically swear words. They're not the same as ours because we don't live in the same world. They're "god" is called glob so maybe other words are different too.
For the longest time I didn't bat an eye when Hotdog princess called the knights slow. But she literally called them slow in front of all the kids watching lol
Like how they gave the moral of peer pressure and stretching yourself too thin (literally), the show's earlier episodes were super direct and easy to follow but also had that distinct charm that kept them fun to watch. Even though those hot dogs were mean to Jake I can't help but feel bad that they were mostly killed.
2:30 is my favorite adventure time quote. Me saying it in real life however has left me responsible for completing group projects almost singlehandedly... 10 out of 10 would recommend.
4 inch hotdogs decided to go to a massive maze, pushed Jake to his limits, almost killing him then wished for a box and suicide. The only thing I liked about them is *YOU STRETCH GOOOOOD!*
I always remembered hating those hotdogs as a kid and cheering whenever one of them died. But now that I understand what that princess meant when she said they were "slow", I kind of just feel bad
Anyone notice this weird lizard guy is pretty much just as powerful as prismo but he only gets one episode and prismo gets portrayed as one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse throughout many episodes
Love how Jake has a past where he used to be a super savvy criminal who would scam people and yet he gives in to peer pressure from four mentally challenged hotdogs
2:37 yeah it sucks that he died, but I dont think anyone has EVER died while feeling that happy. His final moments were filled with pure, innocent, and unbridled joy. Im sure his precious soul made it to Hotdog heaven. RIP Hatboi
I remember when this episode aired. Like after that we all we all had this joke that when someone got tired, we go like "Jake Jake Jake!" We also tell the cat that she stretches good.
