The Epoxy Jig. Best Fishing Lure For Summer

Small swimbaits, epoxy jigs, and flukes can really shine in the Summer time. I like to focus on smaller profiles as the Summer heat settles in mid-day. They can really save a trip from getting skunked and filling a cooler.

11:29 -- the color of their scales are determined by the structure they are hanging out at - if the rocks are darker - they get darker etc ... same w/ tautog

@BobAquatic Месяц назад
Interesting, I guess I wonder why half of them were silver, half were dark. This is the case on sandy structure, rocks, wherever with porgy

Blue fish taste great to me. People give them a bad rep for tasting nasty.

Theres is a lot of strong opinions with fishing. Most of them are incorrect or untested. I'm glad you enjoy blues, they're delicious. Cheers bud

18" to 22" taste pretty good, anything bigger gets pretty "fishy" for my taste. Also, you got to put it on ice immediately and cook it right away, I find bluefish don't store very well even when I freeze it.
@BobAquatic
@BobAquatic Месяц назад
@@CytoplasmicGoo That's a nice size to reference. I agree, Ice. If your having trouble with consistency you should try a salt brine, it'll toughen it up

Marinate the blue fish in milk it will pull all the oil out of the fillet. Me personally I grew up on the saltwater and I love blue fish, stripped bass, blackfish is the best tasting fish on the east coast.

That seems like a really efficient way to catch porgy. Not a lot of re-baiting the rig
@larryp85
@larryp85 Месяц назад
Nah. You might as well buy a lotto ticket after catching a porgy with a lure. That is rare

Where they are thick I have had success using even small kastmaster metal lures, but I generally agree bait is the obvious way to go. However in the video I think he tips the lure with Gulp sandworm, which I think is what makes it very plausible porgy technique
@BobAquatic
@BobAquatic Месяц назад
You'll catch a lot more small porgy with bait. I use this rig to avoid the small ones

Funny you ask my season so far in the Huntington Bay Area hasn’t been great. I just emailed Pete to see if he knows of any access sites I can launch from daybreak without a resident permit. Looks like the west side is more productive so far this season.
