Loved my visit to Western Australia. Fremantle and surrounding towns, Kings Park, Pinnacles national park, a visit to Rottnest Island and a river tour beginning from Perth and including surrounding areas.
*in 1968 The Equals had 5 men [three black and two white] - in 1995 The Equals had 4 men [two white and two black] - the 1968 version had a little more passion and intensity - i still enjoy the song* 9:29 PM PDST on Thursday, 2 September 2021 CE
I grew up with Eddie Grant's "Electric Avenue" and only found out about the Equals, years later. While this performance is spot on, maybe it's my gen x aversion to modern rock and the 90's that has me loving the sound of this performance but feeling sad about visual of the performance. A bunch of sad pensioners looking on. Eddie Grant wearing my mom's outfit. The bassist playing a Steinberger (headless guitar made famous by late-80's noodle-rockers). The whole band looks late 80's in the mid-90's...I was in college in the early 90's and everyone was into obscure garage rock. They could've done it old school....or at least "grunge", style wise. I saw the Silver Apples this same year.
