Loved that - so fascinating! Did you notice that on level 10 (where you could speed up the trolley) the title of the level was "mercy"? Implying that it would be an act of mercy to kill the people more quickly. Maybe that's part of the reason so many people said they'd pull the lever in that case.

Love this kind of video and the channel in general. (And I would never choose lobsters lives over a cat's life.)

In the first one, I divert the trolley and splat the one. I think not doing something can also be a conscious choice (not washing bacteria off your hands before cooking for friends and giving them food poisoning is a conscious choice not to do something). Sometimes not (so in the case of end of life care I would say withdrawing treatment and actively injecting poison are different things). I totally get the point though and don't disagree with your choice to stay on the path though. However if it was my child on one track, and thousands of people on the other, I'd choose my child. Not even a question. And that puts God's love for me in context, that he was willing to send his son to die for me.

stop or derail the trolley. Do what you know is right. Doing nothing is not an alternative.

There is a right answer to the first problem, pull the lever

You first argue that pulling the lever would be actively killing someone, not pulling the lever won't be - later on in the money example you say "40% would kill 5 people for their life savings" - wait a minute! Why NOW it's killing people instead of just "letting it happen and pray"? You probably should check a little bit on consistency xD Great video idea nonetheless, enjoyed watching it!

In the first scenario it is letting 5 people die or killing 1 person to save 5. In the other scenario it is letting 5 people die or lose all your money. The hierarchy of their values are: Do not kill and help who you can help even at the cost of your own life. They seemed pretty consistent in their choices.

People aren't products or things. You can choose how to treat your things. But when it comes to people that's not up to you.
