I've played with the #1 EUNE Kalista so I have experiences with those types of situations you were noticing about rend a "normal" Kalista rends thinking they'll kill a great Kalista rends knowing they'll kill what I mean by that is that great Kalistas know their damage output from rend and know when they'll kill essentially for sure (supernatural elements like healing and shielding ignored). Also when it comes to epic monsters rend's damage is crippled to the point that, if theoretically having 40 spears in a champion would deal 5000 damage to epic monsters it'd be 1500, as such rending and smiting a baron is actually harder than it used to be. a few days ago in fact in one of these games with the aforementioned Kalista he said I need 1 more auto but didn't get in range and the enemy lived with a sliver (rending for slow wasn't a possibility either, tho I can't recall the reason)
One of the reasons he waits for rend til after the taric ult is not that he's unsure it will kill or not before hand, but because he can guarantee the kill after the fact, since her spears aren't blocked even if the champs might take no damage. Part of the reason he took Runaan's as well is to allow for this to hit groups normally and after they're invincible from Taric to claim the kill.
samira can benefit from this actually insanely well, she could do a instant combo r off it before they come out of cc malphite would be stupidly good to pair with it same as a galio with a engage tank
@@HappyChimeNoises2 I stand corrected. I thought I remembered something from a LS video from a few seasons ago, but after doing some research, I wasn't able to find anything regarding a rend cap on dragons/baron.
Expectations are the perfect way to be disapointed in all parts of league, especially soloq. He is a tank, can't deny the fact he buys tank items, you even name one of the items he actually bought as a tank item 😂
@@HappyChimeNoises2 I would at most say he went bruiser, the tankiness of immortal+titanic vs frostfire+titanic is leagues apart. Resists make a huge difference and are the defining feature of tanks because it makes your hp and existing survivability way way more valuable
at around 12:20 u critisisiced him for not using E, But he was actually tanking baron, which reduces ur Damage dealt by 50% you can see him trying to go max Range to stop tanking but his team is stupid and she doesn't know. He actually did the correct thing , also Kalista E does 50% less damage to Epic monsters, and Baron has a crap ton of armor and he has no Armor pen, but is building a useless ass titanic hydra.
I agree but he smited at like 550 so it was sub optimal. Rend -> smite at 900 should be the play Should be even better next season with 1200 damage smites
