The Evil Weasley Slytherin Who Never Made It To The Books 

For her role as a “good Slytherin” to remind us that Slytherin isn’t entirely “the evil house full of bad purebloods”, she reminds me a bit of Andromeda Tonks, née Black, for some reason

Mafalda honestly doesn't sound that evil tbh, she sounds more like devious and cunning (and of course her having the other Slytherin traits) but not outright evil. When you talked about her personality traits and what her character is like as a whole, it immediately made me think of Hermione but a more "evil" and cunning Hermione. Then when you compared her to Luna, to me it makes sense and I agree on how she is similar to both characters. I think it would've been interesting to have a Slytherin Weasley, I know it would be a shock to some since of course there's no Weasley that ended up in Slytherin, but honestly to me I'm surprised there's no Slytherins in the Weasley family. Like for me personally I think Fred, George and Percy would've made great Slytherins. So, if Mafalda ended up existing in the series, it would show that just because you're a Weasley, doesn't mean you're only meant to be in Gryffindor. It would've been interesting to see.

To be honest we needed one helpful and friendly slytherin to complete the Hogwarts houses in the HP movies/books.

Mafalda would be very interesting character. It would be great for Hermione to have some competition and trio to have such interesting friend. She doesn't sound evil, she sounds clever and cunning. She could have been helpful with horcruxes, defending Hogwarts and of course, giving some new perspective to Slytherins.

I think a Weasley in Slytherin might be interesting, and could possibly be a fun character to interact with in Hogwarts Legacy in future DLC or in a sequel.

I think I found a new theory for you. When holotom told Harry that the basilisk wouldn't obey him because he wasn't the rightful aire of Slytherin, he was wrong. Harry and holotom only spoke parselmouth because they each were gifted the rare trait of parselmouth because of the piece of the real tom riddle each of them contained. Harry never tried to speak to the basilisk in the chamber of secrets. I'm betting the snake would have recognized the piece of Voldemort's soul Harry would have used to speak to it and wouldn't have been able to decipher which was which. Was it holotom or Harry? Neither. Either way it was Voldemort.

I would have loved for her to be in the books, she sounds like a very interesting character and someone I’d probably grow to love.

I’ve never heard of this Weasley cousin. While I think it would’ve been interesting to keep her in the books, I actually like the direction that Rowling ultimately decided on!! As a fellow Ravenclaw I enjoy Luna’s character a lot!!

I could see Mafalda being an influence of Albus Potter. Albus Potter's mother is Ginny Weasley so this technically he's the first Weasley in Slytherin.

I wish she would've been added as a character. Would've been an interesting story plot.

It would have made for interesting situations, such as how she and Snape would interact if she was friends with the main trio.

I think she could have made an interesting, if minor side plot. As in she maybe didn’t need to be so involved in the main plot…but the idea of a “rogue” Weasley is intriguing.

If she looked like the image you've used, then I am gutted she wasn't included! I always had a sweet spot for Luna, but I think Mafalda would have easily take that place!....plus the whole Slytherin Weasley dynamic would have been interesting too

I wish we had seen a Slytherin character who was a friend(ish) to the main characters. I thought of a What if. What if Sirius had a daughter with let's say a muggle woman who grew up in the neighborhood his family's house is in. She'd be a bit older than Harry. She was sorted into Slytherin. In the first two books she'd be a background character, but in book 3 when Sirius breaks out of prison then we see more of her as she and Harry both deal with wanting to know the truth of what happened back then. I named her Lyra Black. She ends up being Harry's godsister

I'm not really a fan but even I understand those that are likely to become dark wizards are more likely to be sorted into Slytherin cause of the ambition and power seeking part of the being sorted into Slytherin Majority of Slytherin under Slughorn sided with Hogwarts in the Battle of Hogwarts ....people forget that

I knew about her prior to this video and that she was mainly replaced by Rita. In one of the articles that I read if she was also replaced because no child should have that much information on Dumbledore if it wasn't going to be one of the main three. Now I don't know if I missed it a while ago but you mentioned in this video and I do agree that all of the Slytherin are painted as background villains have you ever done a video about all of the slithering that were Heroes and or really good?

Somehow, based on this video's title, I keep imagine Malfoy calling Mafalda, "Slithery Weasel."

Seems to me that Mafalda's traits were spread between Rita Skeeter and Luna Lovegood. Granted Rita got more of them than Luna did.

I wish she would have made it to the books and the films especially as a Slytherin.

It was 😆 Percy. Borderline Slytherin! True when you think about that 😁 Ambitious, thinking he was above everyone else, ... he wanted a prestigious career... and even went as far as to ignore and snob his closed ones and family. Even without the Slytherin Snake is evil cliché, Percy totally has the ambitions for greatness praised by Salazar. You have plenty of characters like that. The Hat failed a lot with most of them. It's fascinating to see how he wanted to influence some people to be better and 'ot sending them to Slytherin, because they could (eventually did) become evil (Quirrel, Lockhart, Pettigrew, among others) or Hufflepuff, because their bravery wasn't awakened yet (Neville and Ron). Hermione and Mc Gonagall were sent to Gryffindor probably to lift the level in knowledge, and Cedric not sent to Gryffindor to help these in difficulties in Hufflepuff. Basically everyone has a house plus a borderline house. The only exception would be Harry, because his very borderline Slytherin side was because of Voldemort's soul. Sirius borderline Slytherin because of his family's legacy James Slytherin for being an @$$ bully (okay that one might be far fetched 😆) I love the traits of the houses and when you take them all in account, that shows nobody is perfect but can improve thanks for their abilities 🌟

Her surname is NOT Weasley, she is a cousin on Molly Weasley’s side, so she would at least be a Prewitt.

Yes, I would have liked to read about Mafalda. Was she a cousin or perhaps Ginny's twin? The Patil sisters were in Ravenclaw and Gfyffindor so a twin of Ginny in Slytherin would have contrasted. This charactdr could have been somewhat like Sirius Black. Like Sirius who was humiliated and burnt off the Black Family Tree for being in Gryffindor, in a less dramatic way Mafalda was ostrasized by the Weasleys for being in Slytherin. Mafalda also could have been like Regulus Black who, in the end was an unsung hero who first discovered that Voldemort made a horcrux. She could have died in a similar heroic behind the scenes way. I think giving Draco someone who challenged him would have sharpened Draco. Of course, Slughorn would have had Mafalda in the Slug Club. I think Mafalda would have appreciated elf, centaur and goblin magic. Dobby would defend her to Ron, Harry & Hermione. The pull of family ties ahainst friends and ethics would have been something that made both Ron & Ginny more interesting. There were no Slytherin girls who stood out. This character may have been a rival to Hermione for Victor Krum's affection. A strong independent female slytherin perhaps a Weasley who became a mentor to Albus Severus Potter instead of the stupod child of Voldemort would have been more easily accepted as cannon for fans. A smart young Slytherin Weasley would have been someone Severus Snape may have kept his eye on.

Calling her 'evil' is a stretch she is just mischievous also she isn't a Weasley she was the daughter of molly's cousin so if anything her last name would be a prewett.

Mafalda is mentioned in the Harry Potter wiki. Actually she is a prewett and not a weasley (albeit she is related to the Weasleys). I think ideally Draco Malfoy should've been the male & Canon version of Mafalda. Draco could be Hermione's academic rival and Harry's Quidditch Rival, also he could even be Harry's occasional ally who uses his cunningness to help the Golden trio.

Mafalda’s father and Alice Longbottom are actually second cousins on Molly’s mother’s side. Mafalda and her cousin Virgil Goshawk IX who went by Curtis Evercreech went close to Neville on the Second day of school during the 1994-1995 School Year, Neville thought they were going to victimise him but they told him they may have been unpleasant individuals but were good Slytherins and revealed their true identity to him after hearing the name “Aunt Alice” when told Alice was their aunt when they had to visit her in St Mungo’s and remembered once seeing that same person say “Here you go, Neville”. Neville accepted that they were his cousins and they greeted each other like family members and then they sat down at a table in the library next to him.

Sounds like Mafalda would've been a great sidekick/influence for Percy. Still, this is making me think that Harry and Ginny's daughter, Lily Luna, should've been the Slytherin instead of Albus Severus. Going by the film's epilogue, Albus felt more like a Hufflepuff.

Challenging Hermione would have been good, runours about Harry and Mafalda being more than friends amongst students - Slytherin with a Gryffindor - oh boy that could have been fun! I think Mafalda would have been amazing in the fifth book; i can see her and Luna being friends. She should have been kept in oh my gods!!

It would have made for too many characters, but, with such a large family, there probably should have been at least a few other Weasleys floating around Hogwarts, even if they weren't major players in the main story. And, if her father was Molly's squib cousin, it would have made sense for Mathilda to feel like even more of an underdog- with something to prove- than a muggle-born.

An evil Ginger, Who could have imagined

I think Mafilda or Mathilda(not entirely sure how her name is spelled) should've been included in the story. She would've been the perfect partner for Harry instead of Ginny. Two sides of the same coin. She's wicked while Harry is annoyingly moral, and they'd be able to balance each other out. Unrfortunately, that was evidently not the case. She could be reimplemented at some point, though. Have her be a descendant or even an ancestor that the other Weasleys distanced themselves from to the point of never admitting her existence. She'd be an interesting choice for the main character if a set of stories were set in either the past or future, imo.

Can you do what if voldemort targeted the longbottoms and the potters (with the help of his death eaters) how would this change the story

Tho I'd prefer more material from the books, maybe a version of cousin Weasley will be in Max's HP series.

Slytherin is not an evil house the movies just painted them as such.

It would have been interesting to have a Weasley in Slytherin and another intelligent girl to compete with Hermione. However I think I agree with Rowling that introducing Mafalda might have diminished the roles of other new characters e.g Cedric and Rita Skeeter who each have an important role in the 4th book as well as in subsequent books in the case of Skeeter.

Luna is portrayed as highly intelligent in the movies. Luna is seen as someone who is creative and thinks outside the box yes, but she believes in a lot of crazy, baseless nonsense as well.

You want a somewhat evil Weasley who really should have been a Slytherin due to his ambition, look no further than Percy Weasley.

I don't think its ever really said all Slytherins are evil. Ron says "There isn't a witch or wizard who went bad that wasn't in Slytherin." That's a logic disconnect if you turn thst to mesn all Dlytherin's are bad. Regulus Black was Slytherin and a Black. And he turned his back on Voldemort. The Malfoys were also not overly devoted once Voldemort showed loyalty is a one way street with him. Lucius is a follower and he saw Voldrmort as the strongest, so he followed. Draco was his Daddy's boy and parroted his father. Narcissa is a nin-entity as her sole loyalty is trying to keep her husband and her son alive while Voldemort kills people like other people eat Cheetos.

Sure, I would have loved her since I do not like black and white evil characters. But an evil character who is not harmful for her own reasons to the Protagonists is awesome! If you don't agree with me, maybe it is not so much awesome for others, but at least interesting! I liked Malfoy, but afterwards I thought of him as a wannabe bully who is a p@ssy at heart. In the end there was only a handful of real antagonists, and the malfoys were just used as a stepping stone.

I often had a nagging feeling about Mafalada Weasley. Somewhere in the books Ron mentions that his family has a relative - an accountant - about whom they never talk, because he is a squib, and I guess that's where Mafalda would have come from. Rowling shied away from showing that the Wealey family also had their bigoted aspects.

I dunno Percy was pretty Evil as well and he wasn't in Slytherin...

You know, there was another character that never made it into the books. His name was Carl, and he was a giraffe from the zoo in the first book. He was also responsible for eating Mr. Dursley’s hat.
