Hey guys it would be really awesome if you supported me on Patreon. From now on HR7 patrons will be able to see videos a few days in advance! Link here: www.patreon.com/HeavyWings Speaking of videos, my next one will be discussing everyone's favourite leviathan!
Yeah the weird thing about Daimyo is that the skull scales with his size. So if you look at Stonefist, you can only imagine how big that Monoblos must have been!
@@gamechanger8908 i mean it's not more realistic but more reaseanable, it prevents GIGANTIC Monoblos to exist even tho i'm not surprised the ancestor of the monster we hunt today were much bigger
I remember playing Rise and then playing about 40 hours of GU while I waited for Sunbreak to release. Shogun and Daimyo didnt make much of an impression on me and Daimyo felt pretty robotic. However, in Sunbreak I think Daimyo is SO COOL. Crab run, crab jump, crab do big punch into the ground. It felt much more alive and is now one of my favorite monsters in the series
Sunbreak really did Daimyo justice. In the older games, he seemed so passive. Now he feels a lot more threatening with his claw slam. But even so, he's fairly easy to trip, and there's few things more satisfying to me in the TU5 endgame than Spin Slashing into his face with Thunder-element Dual Blades repeatedly.
Sunbreak Hermitaur has a few more additions than was mentioned. He has a move where he starts rapidly strafing around you before closing in to punch and follow up with a beam that can be difficult to dodge, and he has a new burrow attack that lets him dive out of the ground towards you with his skull. He also gains Ceanataur's claw spinning which I don't think was mentioned for base Daimyo. Overall Sunbreak Hermitaur left much more of an impression on me than the 4U one and I don't think Plum is at all needed in the game, base Daimyo already has a good amount of changes to fit right into Rise and is a genuine menace as an afflicted monster.
My first time fighting the stonefist was scary as hell. Allí my attacks bounced un his legs and claws, and i was playing striker sws and i couldn't reach the head. The fight with him is more loadable with areial hamner
Not gonna lie Im really liking the new armor set evolution segment. Hope you dont stop the segment even though I know researching certain monster armor set through the generation can be quite daunting. Luckily online databases still up for older games
Sunbreak helped improve my impressions of the Daimyo Hermitaur. Like all others, since arriving to 5th gen it's movements is more fluid and less clunky, and it can chain attacks better. And I feel that the claw smash is a nice addition to its moveset. As for Plum... My first run-in with it was the raged Qurupeco fight in Stories 2. You can guess how that went. Also... I didn't know you could throw a sonic bomb to make him stop blocking, I'd simply wait until he stops.
A couple things that I thought would be nice touches to daimyo hermitar could be to scrap plum as a subspecies and treat him like a shiny pokemon where you go to hunt a daimyo and there's a small chance that it would be purple instead I think that would be a good way to include him with taking up a slot, Another thing could be to take a not from shogun and have him wear different shells, being a Monoblos skull, diablos skull and a normal spiral shell instead of just the one, would also be cool to see the small hermitars have different shells
In addition to sonic bombs you can also throw small bombs at Hermitaur and it’ll get toppled. Not sure if this a new feature or common knowledge I’ve missed as I only very recently discovered this.
It´s not true that Daimyo leaves no impression. I saw and fought him for the first time in sunbreak and instantly loved him. Great monster, very unusual fight and super fun to perma stun lock with late game gear!^^ I´m never sad to see him come up in an afflicted quest.
I do have one thing I would like, you could also add that the hyper sets also changes around the skill points distribution making it better for mix sets. Some people (randos in mhgu lobbies) get really confused in why hyper sets are so good if they have the exact same skills with maybe one extra point
I really should fire up 4U again. Got the itch a few times this week and last and I had completely forgotten about Plum Daimyo. I currently prefer Sunbreak's iteration of the red crab, but that's mostly due to the temporal distance to my last hunt in 4U. Generations and GenU were fine, but I felt like they tried too hard in too many areas. Deviants included. Really looking forward to what the series has in store for us and the crabs are always a joy to fight again.
Hemitaur is definitely a cool monster, esp since we don't see many of its type. I was super hyped about seeing him in sunbreak, since i avoided most media around it to avoid monster spoilers.
My personal favourite variation of hermitaur is the zenith daimyo hermitaur. It is functionally similar to stonefist but can switch to a explosive claws phase
I always loved all 3 crabs, Shogun was one of my favorite gen 2 monster, Daimyo is easly a top 5 beginner hunt imo, and Gaoren remained my favorite siege monster until Kulve's debut All in all a really good kind of monster, really hope we'll get Akuras Scorpions (wich shares the same skeleton)
Plum can track you whit his Jump and the Watherbeam is actually much more like a Bubble Beam. Stonefist has much more Changes? You can break his Legs, different from Daimyo, allowing you to knock him down. His Fist starts steaming and is soft if hes down, but hard otherwhise, and he diggs out of Pitfall Traps. This might not happen if hes exhausted. As a fellow 4U starter, I got my Ass kicked by him as well. A lot of Player did in Fact. He was certainly much harder then Generations Version, and very fun to hunt.
