[Timestamped list of films below]
There is no Hollywood studio age star who succeed in inventing and then reinventing her image so often and so successfully as Joan Crawford. It’s astonishing how much her look and persona changed throughout her over four-decade career. Her willingness to evolve and change with the times played a role in her ability to stay a star as long as she did. This series of clips moves chronologically through Crawford’s career to demonstrate those shifts and how each decade revealed a new Joan. A time-stamped list of titles is below.

A great great actress her ability to convey emotion stems from her silent movie days when she understood to convey that to the camera. Joan doesn't have to do much to convey such complex emotion. Some have considered her a ham but actually she is superb at under playing in her roles too.
