375 square feet??? This looks SO much larger!!! Maybe because it’s a ranch and doesn’t have lofts? I just love it!!!

Beautiful home. It’s exactly what the owner wants. I think the final price is considered reasonable based on New Zealand’s and most other places regular sized home real estate prices.

OMG, I LOVE THIS! I would love the plans for a home like this. Only thing is I work out. A LOT. Tons of kettlebells, weights, medicine balls, weight bench, TREADMILL, 10,000 pairs of trail sneakers. Okay I am exaggerating on the sneakers, just a little. They are everywhere.

I’m confused what was achieved by using a shipping container for this home as opposed to regular house materials? The price seems incredibly steep for what he’s getting in terms of space. Like that’s a lot of money for such a small space. Is there a practical reason for the container in terms of cost or quality or is it more of a trendy thing to do? A bit confused

Honestly, I think the choice of a shipping container is probably either a way to reuse an object (reduce/reuse/recycle) or just a trendy thing/personal style choice. The cost makes sense tho based on the insane amount of customization he's done here. He spared no expense and it looks really good, just a little pricey I'm sure compared to maybe some other tiny homes. I say if you can afford it, go ahead and splurge on things that make you happy.

This is only my opinion, I live in the mountains, sometimes houses collapse with the weight of snow, that doesn’t happen with a container, outside maintenance is cheaper, less worrisome, no termites or carpenter ants, most likely no roof leaks due to weather etc. I have a regular home but I think in my case and since I live alone it would be more practical but I’m not an expert.

@@annashores4833 ahh makes sense what you said, the reusability aspect. I guess tiny homes have always had the connotation about downsizing and saving money that’s why I was confused. But the customizing doesn’t seem that niche, like of course he has to put walls and cabinets and appliances in to live there as a home haha.

1:40 love that huge pantry!!! This is beautiful and SO clean and uncluttered. That’s one thing that I don’t like about some builds. They’re just so busy and there’s just stuff everywhere. I’m sure those people needs those items, obviously, and they don’t mind it, but I wouldn’t be able to live comfortable with stuff everywhere and without clean lines. That’s just me though.
